If any of the Eds could answer this I would appreciate it.

I saw on the European pages that Morata could be moving away from Chelsea. What club would he go to and why would he move?

I thought he had a decent-ish season considering he was playing through injury and missed a chunk of the season. I would be sad to see him leave without a proper chance to prove himself. If anyone could share some light on this I would appreciate it. Thanks for the info so far.

AC Milan reps were apparently in London trying to get a deal done for him.

Evening lads,

There is some good info about Sancho on the Man United rumours page if you want to check it out, saves asking the Ed’s to provide the same answers twice. The agent fees are ridiculous!

1.) 08 Apr 2020 02:56:41
Yeah ed mentioned a while ago on here that the overall cost of him was outrageous. Thought it was £120m as it was reported but didn't expect the agent fees and so on to add soo much more onto it. I still expect him to go to United, feel like they can offer a lot more than any other team can/ want to. Either that or he stays another season which i can't see either. It's a shame since he'd suite us perfectly and it seems like he wants Chelsea but i don't blame the club at all for not wanting to pay anywhere near that amount of money.

2.) 08 Apr 2020 07:05:00
Indeed, thanks man. The money seems to be ridiculous. No chance that Chelsea agree to agent fees of 50 million on top of an already sky high asking price of over 120 million.

If there's one team agreeing a deal with Dortmund and his agent, then it's going to be United. Not Chelsea. Shame, as it was good to read that the player himself would like to come to Chelsea.

Think we'd be better off spending that money on CB and striker, with a cheaper option to bring in as a winger. I'd take Ferran Torres over Sancho all day if Sancho's costing that much. Help, I'd prefer Boga back even.

3.) 10 Apr 2020 10:35:40
50 Mill in agent fees
Surely the player has to say to his agent your taking the piss and your going to stop a potential move for me.

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that.}

4.) 10 Apr 2020 12:06:40
The fee quoted by Fabrizio Romano (Sancho) is €110m and I only remember one source quoting £20m for his agent's fee.

Bored to tears at the moment so thought I’d post this and see who you boys would choose.
My question is: If you could sign one player for these positions who would you sign? (semi realistic)
Mine would be as follows:

GK: Oblak
RB: N/ A (Reece James)
CB: Upamecano
LB: Telles
CM: Soumare
RW: Sancho
LW: N/ A (CHO/ Pulisic)
ST: Werner/ Dembele.

1.) 16 Mar 2020 11:56:16
GK - Oblak
CB - Ruben Dias
LB - Telles
CDM - Marquinhos
LW - Sancho
ST - Jimenez.

2.) 16 Mar 2020 12:49:42
GK Oblak
CB Demiral
LB No idea
CDM ndidi
LW/ LF sancho
ST dembele.

3.) 16 Mar 2020 14:34:24
My guess is the majority of fans/ posters would have had Chillwell as the first choice left back. How quickly things change!

The lad Telles gets good reviews and I do think it is a priority position but I know nothing about him so I will trust the club.

The next window might not start until about October and a lot of things might change before then!

4.) 16 Mar 2020 14:55:00
GK: Oblak
RB: *Don't need one
CB: Upamecano
LB: Chilwell (still a good player when his heads on straight)
CM: Martinez (Ajax)
RW: Sancho
LW: *Don't need one
ST: Richarlison (more of an attacker, but I'll shoehorn him in here)

5.) 17 Mar 2020 08:07:11
Oh go on then.

GK: Oblak won't be available to us. Ramsdale and Kepa.
LB: Telles
CB: Tah
AM: Sancho
ST: Jovic

We don't need CM / RB.

6.) 17 Mar 2020 23:12:51
I'm going to rewind
Gk cech
Lb cole
Cb carvalho or alex
Cm essien
Am lampard
St drogba
Would be my pick
God that's was a team fingers crossed we get there again.

Another performance I'd soon like to forget. I was never happy with us playing 3 at the back, it helps against certain teams, but against teams like today it just feels like we are a man down half the time. Felt like we needed to suffocate them high up in their half, but I don't think we have the right personnel in the midfield to combat the counter. I also don't think we have much inventivness in the final third, we get to that position a lot and we just pass it sideways until we lose possession. Is that down to the players, the coaching staff or somewhere in-between? Praying we can get everyone back fit and find some form into the last part of the season.

1.) 29 Feb 2020 18:19:28
I want Lamps to stay but he needs some experienced help IMO.

2.) 29 Feb 2020 18:49:16
Tom my opinion on Lampard has changed mate. Last 16 games have been stressful. Surely we have the better squad then most of these mid table teams and yet we constantly drop points.

I would be surprised if he stays on as coach unless he can turn this around and it seems unlikely atm.

3.) 29 Feb 2020 19:31:14
Things can change very quickly Shak by it is very worrying.

4.) 29 Feb 2020 22:31:36
give him a chance. It's not his team . we were carried by Hazard and kante past few seasons, apart from those 2 we haven't recruited any world class players. let him build his team, the youngsters will improve, and for heavens sake be patient and stop calling for his sacking. All teams go through rebuilding, just be patient and accept because we are "chelsea" we have no god given right to be successful every year.

5.) 29 Feb 2020 23:13:38
Sid, I think I would be considered as one of the more calm posters and I agree losing a player like Hazard would hurt any team but let’s also remember Conte got pelters by fans and posters and he won trophies. Sarri got trashed by posters and fans when we finished 3rd and won a trophy.

I also except our problems with the last two transfer windows but for me our performance against a good Bayern side was not good enough.

Today we didn’t play badly but nothing looks like changing. We still haven’t worked out best shape, we still haven’t worked out our best centre halves and the midfield changes almost every week.

Yes, we’ve been unlucky with injuries and NO I don’t want Lamps sacked but something has to change.

6.) 01 Mar 2020 00:00:34
Lamps is learning all the time Tom. Think we need a coach for the defence in the summer, maybe a certain JT would be available. If lamps is struggling, then I hope he is not stubborn or arrogant enough to admit he also needs help from an older and more experienced head. ( not talking about JT obviously) .

7.) 01 Mar 2020 01:59:50
Sid I'd like to ask you a quick question if I may?

Do we need Eden Hazard, Kante and additional world class recruits to beat teams that are in the relegation zone such as the ones we have dropped points to in the past 16 games? I'm just curious.

As Tom says, we still haven’t worked out our best shape, we still haven’t worked out our best centre halves and the midfield changes almost every week.

To build a team you need a identity and unfortunately its not Frank's fault that he was bought into chelsea whilst he was trying to build his own identity at Derby. Does he have the time at Chelsea to experiment? Results are paramount for the club.

Also your right we have no right to be successful every season, however as a big club we should beat mid table teams to lower end teams comfortably.

{Ed018's Note - this team needs to bring in some talent this summer if they want to push forward. Yes they should beat teams like Bournemouth with the squad they have but they can’t compete with Liverpool or City as it stands. If other teams like United, Arsenal, Spurs improve over the summer and Chelsea don’t, they won’t have a sniff at top 4}

8.) 01 Mar 2020 02:14:24
That's my point Ed18 that we should beat teams like Bournemouth with our current squad. We seem to repeatedly drop points to these teams and it will hurt us massively unless Frank can address this decline. I'm not sure what the issue is with our defence, we seem to concede everytime the opposition attack.

I understand we are nowhere near the levels of Liverpool or Man City (miles off) .

{Ed018's Note - I went off on a rant on another one of your posts. We all want what’s best}

9.) 01 Mar 2020 02:33:23
That's it Ed18. We just what's best for the club.

10.) 01 Mar 2020 12:13:02
I look at yesterday's team and think who would have got into a chelsea team of a few years ago, not one of them. We have a mixture of older players getting pass their sell by date, and youngsters who are gaining experience and are far from the finished article. Frank has over achieved this year, based on players at his disposal and taking into account injuries. I do think, however as I said before, he needs help on the defensive side of things. An experienced defensive coach to work with the defence and goalkeepers.
Based on the 2 teams put out yesterday, are our players really any better than the Bournemouth players.

24 Jan 2020 21:39:53
Sancho is playing so well right now. Always looks so dangerous on the ball. I think we would be very lucky if we signed him in the summer with pretty much every top club going in for him. You guys think we will get him?

1.) 24 Jan 2020 22:45:25
He should be number one target. Homegrown, scores and assists and is one of the best players in the world right now.

2.) 25 Jan 2020 10:27:24
sancho is never going to happen wel be lucky to end up with some1 like zaha when was the last time we brought top class players? costa fabregas what 5 years ago.

3.) 25 Jan 2020 11:40:39
I agree tbh SuperChels were not a powerhouse no more. We do spend money but on the wrong mediocre ones which is a shame but now a lot of this fan base are happy with mediocrity I. e Tom with Kepa and Jorginho.

4.) 25 Jan 2020 13:35:57
Does look like the club are starting to think more about the long term instead of gap fillers (Drinkwater, Zappacosta), so I'm quietly optimistic about the possibility of Sancho arriving. He would look good in blue I think 👀.

19 Jan 2020 11:50:39
Not too many positives from yesterdays game, however I thought Christensen was superb. Won almost every duel with Joelinton and didn't put a foot wrong. Hope his form continues for the rest of the season.

1.) 19 Jan 2020 12:01:08
jury still out but he hasn't got a run yet under lamps and its interesting to see how hel get on if he gets a run. reece james was exceptional.

2.) 19 Jan 2020 12:01:39
I completely agree was really aggressive with attacking the ball which he needs to be I like rudi but he’s not the one to play next to Christensen for me thought he was at fault for the goal and his passing wasn’t great either lucky for us most of the surrounding teams didn’t make up too much ground.

3.) 19 Jan 2020 13:57:55
I know it shouldn’t matter with professionals but we haven’t found anyone to play comfortably as a left sided centre back since JT left.

I don't see the point in dropping Kepa, his confidence is shot as it is. If we are going to keep him long term then we need to get behind him, not slate him.

Completely agree CFCAdam. Very underrated player, never seen someone protect the ball as well as him, he was so calm under pressure. Probably a bit too old for Chelsea to re buy him but still a good asset for any team.

He's scored 15 or so goals in his first season in a new country, plus missed a large chunk due to injury. Give him a break. Hope he stays.

I don’t post very often but always on the site and love reading people’s thoughts on our players and transfers.

I was very happy to see that we have signed Barkley. There is definitely a top player hidden there and hopefully Conte can fulfill his potential for us for many years!

Not sure why everyone always mentions how much players cost. The market is crazy but it’s also not our money, so I personally could care less how much we pay for players, just as long as they play well for the club.

Love to hear you guys thoughts on where Barkley should best be used, ie in the CAM role in the 3-5-2, wouldn’t know where to use him best in the 3-4-3 to be honest.

Kante all day, we need to adjust his position slightly. He's just too high at the moment.

Absolutely woeful! Worst performance I've seen in a long time. Lampard got taught a lesson by Arteta tonight. We need something different in attack, we don't look like scoring anymore.

Geez that was bad! Don't think we had more than two good opportunities throughout the whole match. I think that's 1 win in 4 or 5 in the prem now for us, not on good form at all.

I feel like in games like today, where the oppo just sits back and gives you possession, that we need to be much braver on the ball, no one really took a risk with the ball by trying to take on their man, it was just side ways passing, until we dinked a cross to the back post to a 5ft Pulisic who just can't out jump a CB naturally.

In other news, Sancho is back to his best form, and looking sharp. Would be a big ask for us to spend that sort of money on him though. One can dream.

Away to Spurs next, big, big game!

Also saw that Tomori is close to a new contract extention which is great news!
