U 21's were awesome today. Won 5-0, could have been double figures. Boga, Solanke & 16 year old Dasilva were different gear. Future looks bright.

daveblue99

1.) From everything I've heard Dasilva seems to be a terrific talent. Boga of course is awesome. Indeed the future is bright.

I would like to see Chelsea offer Rami & £30 million for Pogba, it would turn a few heads & would put some pressure on Juve. Any thoughts.

daveblue99

{Ed018's Note - I don't see it happening}

1.) 12 Jun 2014 20:30:29
Well Ed018 do you see us atleast bidding for Pogba, I mean there's no harm in trying yeah? Also good signing Fabregas, think he'll bring something different.

{Ed018's Note - I would think it's very unlikely now}

2.) But why not, we want him so bad :-P

{Ed018's Note - I think it's more likely he will be moving elsewhere if he leaves Juventus}

3.) Ed18 do you see oscar staying and no mkre midfielders coming in maybe a left back and another striker job done

{Ed018's Note - not really sure about Oscar. It was mentioned by Ed002 that if Oscar left Chelsea could look to bring in Isco. Yea a left back another forward and I think they'd like to bring in a center back as well}

4.) Considering the money likely to be coming in to chelsea through sales of Luiz and Lukaku I don't see why we can't go for Pogba? It is looking increasingly unlikely we are going to spend £50m+ on Cavani anyway.

Slightly off the Chelsea subject.
Who does everybody think & hopes to win the World cup. I'm going with I think Brazil & Hope Belgium, mainly because of our connection's with those sides. Sorry to say England are useless & play the most boring football.
Your prediction's.

daveblue99

1.) U mean u hope England but yes I agree we won't win.

2.) I'm rooting for Germany and Belgium at the World Cup, and I wouldn't be mad at Brazil winning. Belgium because I'm Belgian (I feel like I'm obligated to support my own country), Germany because they have the most fun players (I really like the current generation of young German footballers) and Brazil because of the Chelsea connection and they're the host country.

3.) Same Germany, Belgium and I wouldn't mind if Brazil won.

4.) Whatever team that has most Chelsea players in or players were linked with be ones I'll be watching and rooting for

5.) There are four NTs which may win WC 1.Brazil 2.Spain 3.Germany
4.Argentina. Those 4 teams are truly stronger than others.
Personally I prefer Spain.

6.) As long as boring Spain or England (im irish) don't win, i'm happy!

7.) I'm going for Brazil n Belgium
but wudnt be surprised if Germany or Argentina win it

8.) I hope its brazil or belgium.

9.) Well firstly ill be hoping for England although I will have a small amount of money on Argentina. would be nice to see Belgium do well.

FFP does not work, unless your barca, Real, Bayern, Manu, Juve or Uefa. It's been set up to suit the old established clubs & keep them where they are. This is because it's been set up for turnover, which come mainly down to support, size of ground etc. What sense does it make to stop clubs spending to much money, then fine them £50 million. Corruption is afoot again at Uefa & the old guard who between them are the clubs in the most amount of debt in their respective national leagues. As they say in politics you couldn't make it up.

daveblue99

{Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that.}

1.) Really ed02, talk about state the obvious

2.) You're rooting for Belgium instead of your own country & you're going on about nothing that has relevance to Chelsea at all! Who cares about how much other teams get fined worry about your own team & support them & what they do

3.) Situation88 is absolutely right. It's not important how much club spends, what is important how much club earns. Spending has to be covered with income.

All I hear is that we are negative, don't score enough goals etc. But the stats show that we scored more goals, than everyone except the 2 above us & we had as many chances as those 2. The big problem in last few years is, that we can't put our chances away. We need 20 chances to put a goal away normally, where as liverpool & City would score at least 3/4 goals in that amount. It strikes me that we were spoilt when we had Drogba leading the line & the others were in their prime. There's not an awful lot wrong, just the odd player & a few others maturing. Hoping that a few of the youngsters get a chance next year too.

daveblue99

1.) Both teams play with two strikers and what is more important they play on them. Which means finishing pass or cross goes on striker.

2.) There's been rumours of us switching to playing 2 upfront. But the only way that really works is if one of them are quite small and skillfull, ala Suarez, Aguero. Unfortunately I don't think any of the strikers we're looking at have the guile needed to play in that way.

3.) Suarez isn't short, he is like Schurrle who is actually secondary striker. Man.City use to play Negredo&Dzeko quite often. Real Madrid plays Ronaldo and Benzema, Man.Utd plays v.Persie and Rooney. One has to be hold up forward and other one typical striker-energetic, fast.

4.) Plus costa is greedy, don't like to pass

5.) I doubt Falcao will agree with you.

6.) Costa has played with a strike partner most of this season, I actually think if we sign him he needs to play with a partner

7.) Lukaku, Torres and perhaps Cavani if swap deal happens.

8.) Suarez is 5'9" that's pretty short. At least IMO. Ronaldo may not be short but he is creative. Costa only has 4 assists this season. I think if we're going to sacrifice an AM for a 2nd striker they need bring in the creativity we lose.

9.) Cavani, Costa and a younger striker.

10.) Fuser, what do you think about us playing Schurrle off of a main striker?
If not, I think someone like Lavezzi would be great in that support striker role, maybe with Markovic as the understudy to Lavezzi, with Lukaku understudy (if he stays!) to Costa/whoever? Gives us two subs, worst comes to worst and we get an injury, Schurrle could step up (if a Lavezzi was signed) and if even more injuries occurred a more 4-2-3-1 could be deployed (rather than the 4-2-2-1-1 that I guess I'm currently proposing.

Thoughts?

11.) Markovic played rm at Benfica this season.

12.) On the one hand I think it could work, as he played well against Fulham and his goals came from running off the shoulder of the last defender. But then again I think he's better cutting in off the wing. Would be interesting to see in pre-season.
With regards to Lavezzi, I haven't really seen a lot of him to really know whether he could fill that role. But I've always thought of him more as a wide player. Certainly would be quite happy if he joined us though. But I'd imagine more of a 4-3-3 with Costa up top and Hazard and Lavezzi flanking him.
Atm I can't get the idea of Costa playing off of Cavani out of my head to really consider other options aha.

The one that makes me laugh, is when Rooney & Gerrard, want to stitch up there gullible clubs. Then tell their clubs that they want to join the best & biggest club in the country (Chelsea). lol

Another thing in our favour is London. If you listen to most footballers, they are able to sink into the background in London & are generally left alone. That won't happen in Madrid etc.

Melbourne, I understand your point of view, but you must respect other peoples views too. One thing you fail to mention about older Chelsea fans is that we are honest about our players & clubs, unlike plastic fans at other clubs. Our older fan base calls it as they see it, they always have, if you don't understand that, then perhaps your not as older fan as you like to make out.

Juan Mata21, you sound bitter, because you moved to a mid table side. On a serious note, oscar works for the team, not himself.
