Good afternoon Ed.

Would the signing of Lesley Ugochukwu be clsssed as one of the 2 DM or would we still be looking for 2.

jsfinchy1986

{Ed002's Note - No. Albeit he has huge potential moving forward.}

1.) 08 Aug 2023 18:34:08
Interesting that he's been given a squad number – so presumably he's staying for at least the first half of the season rather than going out on loan.

2.) 08 Aug 2023 19:58:32
No number 4
Or 25 which I think is caicedos number at Brighton.

3.) 08 Aug 2023 17:53:57
Appreciate the info ed.

Do you think he will stay with the first team this year then or do you think a loan is more possible.

I take it he was a 2030 vision player.

{Ed002's Note - He is a Vision player and it depends on others what happens this season.}

4.) 09 Aug 2023 05:09:19
Thanks again Ed always appreciated.

01 Jul 2023 07:36:20
Morning Ed. Hooe you are well?

Can I ask how come it has gone extremely quite about auba.

I have just been looking at the squad aswell I can't believe we still have baba rahman.

jsfinchy1986

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what you are expecting to hear Aubameyangadingdong is leaving. Baba Rahman will be leaving.}

1.) 01 Jul 2023 16:52:48
Ed do you copy and paste his name or always type that out lol.

{Ed002's Note - Type it.}

2.) 01 Jul 2023 17:01:55
I'd never remember that.

3.) 01 Jul 2023 17:51:48
This will be interesting!

4.) 01 Jul 2023 19:48:02
Thanks for the reply Ed. I just found it strange how it's gone quite and don't know where he is going.
Is it already determined where he is off?

{Ed002's Note - Yes he is leaving.}

5.) 02 Jul 2023 10:59:16
I feel sterling's not a Chelsea kind of player and city pulled the wool over our eyes to bring him to the club. can't believe we signed him for the wage he gets. His stats are flattering and down to playing in a formidable city team. At his level he should be inspirational to the younger players but he's even being carried by the team. We need highly motivated attackers.

I was mad when werner was sold to bring in sterling. Whoever sanctioned that deal should be sacked just like with lukaku. Because of his fake stats, coaches would always feature sterling for whatever consideration, but I hope poch will have the balls to pick players based on merit.

Hi ed02.

Can I ask who the candidates for DOF we are looking at please.

jsfinchy1986

{Ed002's Note - I am not prepared to discuss that as they will simply get trashed, like all existing players and all potential players.}

1.) 04 Sep 2022 12:38:51
OK thanks anyway.

2.) 04 Sep 2022 15:04:57
i do not mean to be rude, but, well, maybe you do not know?

Chelsea's head of international scouting Scott McLachlan has left after 11 years.

09 Jul 2022 13:40:46
Can I ask what is the situation with, as one of the eds calls him the knuckle dragging bone head Ross barkley.
Surprised he isn't leaving or wish he was.

jsfinchy1986

{Ed002's Note - As far as I know there have been no offers for him yet.}

1.) 09 Jul 2022 15:15:00
Hardly surprising. He needs to move for his own good; he is still relatively young.

15 Jul 2021 19:26:44
Hi Ed can I ask does a transfer offer really go as the news make it sound. As in chelsea first bid of x amount plus tammy or is it more just a discussion that chelsea have said this is an option to BD.

jsfinchy1986

{Ed002's Note - It will be a point of discussion.}

1.) 15 Jul 2021 20:37:09
Thanks Ed.

It just the papers make it sound like a fax is sent.
"Hi £100mil plus tammy"

2.) 15 Jul 2021 21:21:33
lol could u imagine.

3.) 15 Jul 2021 23:20:18
Think their fax machine is broken.

I stayed away yesterday to think on the performance.
I believe we have a good squad. Missing a striker, mainly. Once the injuries are back.

But we are a team of individuals. That lack cohesion. This for me is on poch, he doesn't seem to have made any progress in a style of play. He should be able to give each position instructions on where he wants them.
I constantly see our players moving into each others space. This shows me signs that they don't know where they need to be.

I do want poch replaced. With someone that is going to stand on the side line. Wearing a suit with his heart on the sleeve with passion and say "I am here and you are going to do as I ask"
Hate managers that wear track suits lol.

Who that guy is I don't know but either way I think poch has hit a brick wall.

Another thing that is really p***ing we off. This stupid update on injuries of the website. Either give us full details or get rid of it fully.
"Nkunku is continuing with his rehabilitation.

jsfinchy1986

1.) 31 Mar 2024 19:42:20
Jsfinchy, I want Poch to stay but I do understand your concerns about his motivational abilities.

The injury updates don’t bother me as much as they do you. My big dislikes are the obvious, the away fans in the shed and the pre match flame throwers.

2.) 31 Mar 2024 20:04:46
I have to admit tomb my lad 4 years ago absolutely loved the flamer thrower show. Especially on a night game. He believed it got him excited ?.

As for poch I never wanted him. But I also don't know who I want. Am sorry to some but I don't want to go back to "the special one" again. I do like the look of sporting Lisbon guy but is it too early.

The injury update just seems pointless to me without details. It just screams to me "look how many we have injured! "

And as some have rightly or wrongly pointed out we have spent a lot of money on a lot of players. So we shouldn't be crying about the situation.

We have what we have now show some passion for the badge or F off.

Noni screams to me like he has a bad attitude just strolls around.

And I hate seeing Sterling on the pitch for us. If he mess up he always seems to be laughing or smiling after and that is really getting on my nerves.

So worry about the money we have spent. I worry about players coaches attitudes. We would all be moaning if the owners came in and didn't spend a penny.

3.) 31 Mar 2024 21:18:47
I believe Poch will stay until the end of the season whatever happens, there is no point in trying to get someone else in now. In any event, he should suffer like the rest of us. However, I will be extremely disappointed if he is head coach next season. He is a loser. It’s not as if he is an up and coming coach who might develop and learn from his mistakes, he has been around the block and won’t improve .

4.) 31 Mar 2024 21:26:40
My guess is four years ago I thought the flame throwers were a bit of fun and a little exciting. I’m sure it’s just me being a bar humbug!

The last ten games in the premiership will tell us a lot about the players and our coach. We are playing for a place in the lower echelons of Europe. Let’s see if they can at least manage that objective.

5.) 01 Apr 2024 00:32:22
But hey we'd be top 4 if football was only stats according to poch. He lost me even more when he tried to claim that. embarrassing.

Pochetino was never the correct decision. It's been mistake after mistake in the managerial hunt. No idea why we got rid or tuchel who won the ucl and got us 3rd.

6.) 01 Apr 2024 07:14:24
I didn’t want TT sacked but I acknowledge his football was awful to watch and under his tenure we made some significant signings that were strange. Lukaku being a classic example of buying a player and not playing to his strengths.

7.) 01 Apr 2024 08:44:43
Agree with that TomB. I'm a big lukaku supporter (or was) and I thought lukaku was the final piece. Oh how wrong I was.

8.) 01 Apr 2024 08:58:08
Let’s not forget PEA another player apparently wanted by TT and then never played. Surely when a player is bought a manager might well keep his strengths and then play to them.

I’m not sure of the reasoning behind the TT exit from CFC but it would appear he isn’t the flavour of the month in the manager merry go round. Maybe another candidate for one of the Merseyside clubs.

9.) 01 Apr 2024 11:35:27
Tom to be fair there was one game that tuchel had with aubemeyang.

The aubameyang signing was comical, tuchels pick and then we sacked tuchel a week later. So poor.

10.) 01 Apr 2024 11:56:55
Really don’t get the TT love in. Appreciate him for helping us win the CL but after that the football was dire and his signings even worse. Lukaku, PEA, Koulibaly to name just a few. Hardly ever used Pulisic who’s excelling at Milan now.

I’m stuck in two minds about a new manager. Amorim is supposedly a good young manager but he plays 3 at the back and is that the direction we want to go in? Other options we’ve been linked with are Naglsemann and Flick. Are they the answer? Will we get either of them? Amorim might end up at Liverpool, Flick possibly back at Bayern. De Zerbi is not the answer in my opinion and he might end up at Barca. So even if we get rid of Poch, the options seem slim and we might end up with none of them. At which point is it better to stick with him?

11.) 01 Apr 2024 14:19:34
I find it impossible to judge Pochettino this season based on the number of new and largely young players, many new to the PL and the horrific list of injuries.
The injuries have completely disrupted the continuity that the squad needed to build understanding and confidence.
In addition I don't see any realistic candidates that would instantly improve the situation given that so many big clubs are looking for managers.
Whoever the manager is next season will need more experience in the squad particularly at CB/ Striker and Goalkeeper where we have two players at a similar level and not good enough to be No1 at a big club.

12.) 01 Apr 2024 15:13:15
K Drog, Strangely I find myself agreeing with a lot of your post.

I would just say that Petrovic to me looks like an outstanding signing and a potential leader.

13.) 01 Apr 2024 20:08:43
Style of play, 10 shots on target 13 off and 10
Blocked, 7 big chances created 2 taken ( one is a penalty ) so I agree with the team of individuals but wouldn’t the performance of yesterday say that the style and set up and tactics were spot on they wernt delivered, we had it with potter, and Lampard and now poch, maybe, it’s the players not being good enough in front of goal, changing manager won’t change that, giving the manager a striker who needs a half chance to score would change that drastically, despite a few calls for Jackson to again be our main man, however much he has improved, he isn’t there yet,

14.) 02 Apr 2024 06:59:43
Matt, I enjoyed and agree with a lot of your post.

31 Dec 2023 10:55:54
Morning,
So after a long year. Happy new year to you all!

What realistically is your league position for the second half of the year and why?

Secondly what would you change from the 1st of January for chelsea which you think will help us achieve your league goal? Try not to be negative it's a new year after all.

jsfinchy1986

1.) 31 Dec 2023 11:04:47
For me I think realistically 7th place. I think a lot of teams around 5th to 7th will drop points. And I think/ hope we maybe starting to pick up some momentum.

If I could change one thing for the new year it would be to Start playing players in their natural position. I wouldn't get rid of poch as I do like him. But I would just change that about him.

2.) 31 Dec 2023 11:09:02
Jsfinchy, I think we will finish between 6-8. I can see normal improvement happening over time and we should get a few more players back from injury. I perusing think we will sign any new players in this window but I can see at least three maybe four leaving.

I also think/ hoping that Poch settles on key positions within the team, this will be easier with a fully fit squad.

Another small little positive is that going into the year we should only have one game a week, as the season progresses we should have the slightly fresher players.

3.) 31 Dec 2023 12:41:47
There are so many issues that it is difficult to predict where we will end up. I think it is unrealistic to expect a vast improvement as some of the problems are ingrained: so I will say 9th.

28 Dec 2023 17:42:35
The team I would like to see against Luton

Petz
Gusto silva BB/ colwill maatsen
MC CG
Noni palmer mudryk
Nkunku

I think the pivot could be any of enzo/ lavia/ cg/ mc depending on availability.

jsfinchy1986

1.) 28 Dec 2023 19:51:27
I think Poch will pick the following team:-

Petrovich

Gusto, Desisi, Silva, Colwill

CG, Caicedo,

Sterling, Jackson, Palmer.

I think Nkunku, Brocha, Lavia, Noni and IM will get a lots of mins in the FA cup game.

2.) 28 Dec 2023 20:38:58
You are probably right TomB but I don't like playing with 10 men lol.

3.) 28 Dec 2023 21:06:32
Jsfinchy, it’s an age thing but we only need 10 men! haha.

If he wants to be a spoil sport and play with eleven men then I guess it will be Mudryk.

4.) 28 Dec 2023 22:38:56
Mudryk seems to do things in the middle too, would like to see him and nkunku rotate a little during a game.

21 Nov 2023 12:05:46
Good afternoon Ed. Hope you are well.

Can I ask if you think all the talk about us getting points deduction / relegated from the league. Is actually something to worry about?

I try not to read the news sites. As I see a lot of the printed stuff so negative.

jsfinchy1986

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea have not been charged with anything.}

1.) 21 Nov 2023 13:28:10
Thanks for the reply ed.

15 Aug 2023 06:17:16
Hi Ed. Do you know what's going on with the shirt sponsor. No interested in money side but we have all probably seen the leaked images from media day.
That suggest it will be infinite athlete but it hasn't been announced.

jsfinchy1986

{Ed002's Note - It is awaiting Premier League approval.}

1.) 15 Aug 2023 09:23:45
Wow and that's why we come to you for information.
Hopefully it goes through unlike the rumoured paramount + one they stopped. If that was true.

2.) 15 Aug 2023 14:47:04
Hi Ed02

What does the epl look at when approving sponsorship deals. Is it just based on price or is there something else as well.

{Ed002's Note - It will look at coflicts of interest (the last proposed Chelsea sponsor fell foul of that), whether the funding is legitimate or if it is coming via a third party, whether the sponsor is appropriate (eg. getting rid of gambling advertising) and affordability.}

3.) 15 Aug 2023 14:57:04
Jsfinchy, apparently Boehly has links to infinite athletes so think the PL are trying to decide if it’s fair value or been artificially inflated.

4.) 15 Aug 2023 15:27:36
I get that fuser but look at man city the stadium is sponsored by etihad which is the owners company.

Please correct me if am wrong. So surely can't be an issue for us.

{Ed001's Note - and they set that deal up before the FA realised there was a loophole there, hence why they closed it off for others to stop them having artificially inflated sponsorship deals.}

5.) 15 Aug 2023 19:38:10
Thanks for that info ed001.

6.) 15 Aug 2023 15:27:36

Rbd great assessment. And enjoyed reading it.

I believe we are firing in crosses low due to maybe as some have said jackson isn't great at heading. So looking to get a toe on the ball. Most of our front line aren't going to head the ball (sterling) we aren't going to fire in crosses for headers if you don't have the players to suit that game.

But good points thank you.

Thank you.
I get frustrated as much as the next fan but I prefer to watch games back. As you can be very reactionary to the result and be blinded to the good things.

Jimbo, because I am sad I have watched Sundays game twice now. We created a lot of chances in the final 3rd. None was a heading situation other than corners. Which Bournemouth have every good technical players in the air.

To which we played short corners.

In my eyes. Connor could and should of scored 2. Yes one ball from mydrk was to high but Connor didn't adjust his body.

Jackson hit the post from a long range shot. After good link up play from mydrk and Jackson.

We are playing teams that are filling the box with players. And we are trying to work the ball as close to the goal as possible.
With so many in the box we won't score many headers or crosses. As it becomes less about technical things and more about luck if it goes to our player.

We had 2 or 3 goal scambles on Sunday which we could of scored from but again the box was so full of players we just hit a brick wall.

SO in my opinion we need to break quicker. So that the opposition don't get numbers back in the box. We did this at times Sunday but! The final ball was poor, behind players or too late. This sort of thing is mainly confidence and building relationships.

I do fail to see why Jackson not heading the ball proves he isn't any good. He receives the ball and drives at teams. Which I think is great. But we need runners in behind once he does that. His first touch is good, his dribbling is good but his shooting is very rash. He is young and hasn't learnt to be composed yet. IF! He does I think he will be quality.

Again just my observations and opinions.

Good reply that is much better than moaning about what is wrong and been done wrong.

We are where we are.

Now I believe the data driven scouting is actually viable for the future. Trying to find hidden gems that could become superstars. As paying £100m plus looks like it will be the norm.

Do I think we over paid for some of these 20-23 year olds. Yes I do but I have faith in the process. If and when some players don't workout so be it.
Over the years we have had world class players and some dross that was supposed to be the next big thing but flopped (kezman scored for fun in holland and was useless for us ) . Is chelsea still here YES! Will we continue to be here YES!

I believe jackson and nkunku will be OK. I don't rate the juventus striker and don't see any I would want other than osihmen but he will be over £100mil again and in my opinion might not transition well from Italian game. I would maybe take a punt on Toney as I like his aggression and fight I don't think he is amazing tho.

Martin thanks for giving me what you would change. That made more sense to me than just moaning what is wrong. I hope you give my reply as much thought as I gave yours.

On a last note what more can we do other than trust the process? The owners aren't going anywhere. None of these players have really been given the time as has poch.

So k drog from my research as you got me interested here are his stats.

3 out of 6 total in dfb-pokal
25 out of 34 total in bundesliga
7 out of 8 total in champs league
1 out of 1 total in dfl super cup
36 Of 49 = 13 games missed

With different injuries. On transformation. co. uk it shows you which games he missed.

So God knows where you got 22 from.

If record for us, is horrendous but totally different injuries. So I fail to understand how its a continuation.

Hard to disagree with Gary neville tho mate they are bottle jobs and I think poch is as well.

30mins to go, go and work your socks off. But I think he fails to motivate the team.
It's the one and only thing I like about klopp. He gets his players to run through a brick wall for him.
