Well done Enzo Maresca for being named Manager of the month. I think he is proving to be a very smart appointment by the sporting directors. A huge upgrade on Poch.

Credit to the gaffer, 2nd string looked so comfortable. He is a top top coach. 10 wins in the last 12 games. Loving this new squad. Well done once again to Clearlake, Blueco, Todd and the sporting directors. As a previous poster once said. "they will have case studies on the brilliance of our new ownership". ?.

West Side
I have to ask are you TB in disguise.
Gonna serious note once again the attack was good but our second string defence is just as bad as our first string.
But you are correct, the winning streak breeds confidence.

10 wins in 12? Not sure about that.
We've played 10 competitive games under Maresca, and we've won 7.
Unless you are counting pre-season?
In which case it's 8 wins in 16.
But why let facts get in the way of a good story?

Surely Maresca wins Manager of the month for September? I like his hands on approach, his confidence, his honesty and his ruthlessness. He has taken this young group of players to another level. Big shout out yet again to the sporting directors for identifying so many brilliant young players as well. Awesome recruitment.

West side I agree our attack and midfield are shing at the moment but yesterday we were helped by the outrageous Brighton high line.
When we talk about our defence that was all over the place, that is a different matter and don't get me started on Sanches. Yes he makes good saves but his howlers, wow.
If we had a top class GK, who knows what we might accomplish.

Our forward players, as a group, are the best in premier league Bill. Moises is unbelievably good in midfield and at just 22 will only get better. Enzo is so often the unsung hero, he controls the tempo, finds the passes and gels it all together. The minute he went off some control was lost. Lavia needs to stay fit but has it all and Viega reminds me of Obi Mikel, a beast of a presence who can lock things up.
You are right about our need for a top top keeper. Will Sanchez be the answer? I have my doubts. The rest of the back 4 will gel in time but I have said before I would like a top quality CB alongside Levi. Will Fofana or Tosin develop into that? Will the young lad coming in from Argentina be the answer? either way we are just 2 players from being right at the top of the top table alongside City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
3.) 29 Sep 2024 14:54:47
Agree re it is the defence that still needs some attention WSOTS and had gthought Tosin may be a better bet than Fofana at being calm better positioned CB though Fofana does have pace and aerial ability. The keeper question seemingly not solved either despit Sanchez pleasantly surpising us in several earlier EPL games.
Perhaps none of goalies on our books - and we hava a bagful - good enough though Petrovich did seem to steady the ship at end of last season and then many hoped that Jorgensen might be the answer. But he has been second pick thus far and perhaps Maresca and staff still hope to bring someone better in to challenge him unles Jorgensen can show worldie ability in cup games.
So question is who would we pick if replacing Sanchez as starter for next EPL game? Or does Maresca stick with him for now? Has Jorgensen done enough in cup games to merit Maresca trust in him?
4.) 29 Sep 2024 17:30:21
Stick with him for now as he has played well this season. He has deserved that. Another horror show though and he will surely be replaced. Are we looking at any more keepers ED02?
{Ed002's Note - Chelsea will continue to look at options but right now a GK is not a priority.}
5.) 30 Sep 2024 12:40:26
Thankyou ED02. Who would your first choice GK be?
{Ed002's Note - I would not make any change at this time.}

You are correct Tom. The old squad needed a refresh and with the sanctions it was also a very difficult time. Yes, too many signings in too few windows but that will now slow down. Players will come and go and these owners are not shy to spend their money and I fully expect 2 more windows of activity. They are winners and highly motivated by success and won't stop until we return to the top table.

He is trolling again Tom.

Tom, every Chelsea fan hates Spurs. If you go to games you know what I mean, the songs, the hatred. They are on all our lists. Liverpool and Man U make my top 3.
Leeds are a big contender for 4th and Arsenal as well although they never win anything and just flatter to deceive. Will they win the prem anytime soon? no chance, bottlers. So I guess my list is Spurs, Liverpool, Man U, Leeds.

Your words "absolutely abhorrent", "shocking visual", "one trick pony" after yet another win? for feck sake give the guys a chance!
05 Oct 2024 09:04:16
I have never seen or heard Enzo Maresca say that? Twitter or just made up?
03 Oct 2024 09:21:47
I see it differently again, Jorgensen, Nkunku, Neto, Mudryk, Felix, Lavia, BB, Veiga, KDH, Disasi, Tosin all need minutes to keep their match fitness levels high. I think Casedei starts and I hope Carney plays as well. The youngsters played in Europe this week so George may have to settle for a place on the bench. Josh A would be my choice at RB.

"Shockingly open midfield"? RBD. you sound like Standard. ?.
