Hey guys and girls, very rarely post but now seems as good a time as any.
I read and reread posts on this site (and yes I understand why ED002 doesn't want to "go there" re defence) .
I get the feeling that MVG is thought of in a rather different light than many of us believe (I saw his first season, before injury) and was awestruck, this guy is the complete article!
I know injuries have impacted his career, however, I still think the powers that be still seriously rate this guy.
I'm sure ED002 you'll put me in my place if I'm way off the beaten track, but I have a feeling that the club see MVG as being a big part of the future, if he can stay injury free.
Would have been so easy to let him go (with a profit) for the last few years, but we have not!
Interested in all your thoughts.

Kiwi Pete

{Ed002's Note - His contract has been extended by a year. The club would very much like him to be available, else he will return to the Netherlands.}

1.) 17 Aug 2020 09:39:45
Would be good for the lad he deserves a bit of luck.

2.) 17 Aug 2020 13:34:35
Easy to forget he's only 27. We've seen flashes of a really, really good player for us and also whilst on loan - fingers crossed for him and us, as I imagine from an FFP perspective he's a very cheap squad member Vs the cost and his overall ability.

3.) 22 Aug 2020 11:01:13
Van Ginkel? He's just going to be loaned out again regardless.

23 Jun 2015 07:48:36
Ed 002, I remember a couple of years ago we were very interested in Abyumayang(spelling) before his move to Dortmund. Given the latest stories out there re his potential availability would we still have interest?
Thanks in advance.

Kiwi Pete

{Ed002's Note - Not right now Pete.}

1.) 23 Jun 2015 23:58:09
Would love Aubameyang. Got a goal scoring record and he is a natural winger is just whether he has the work rate Mourinho likes.

2.) 24 Jun 2015 09:08:59
Thanks ed!

{Ed001's Note - Moses is awful, his first touch is terrible, which is the hardest thing to fix, so if they don't have it, you may as well forgot them.
Sorry to pinch your comment ed 001 but everytime I see a comment on here about Lukaku this is what I think too. He is not, and never will be world class and why people on here rate him I will never understand.

Kiwi Pete

{Ed001's Note - I agree completely. He controls the ball further than most players can kick it. He is a faster, stronger, more clinical version of Loic Remy. Not good enough for Chelsea.}

Fellow posters, I have been following this sight for a number of years now and as stated before by the more astute posters, if the Ed's (002 in particular) says NO it means NO, so why keep going on about it! Over a month ago Ed 002 said Greizman to CFC this window will not happen, even after the efforts of a third party, and yet some posters still ask the question, so let it go. The correct questions are: Are we interested or in contact with Morata, Kante, etc. If the answer is no it means no, end of. , I miss the days of us fans asking a sensible question and getting a reliable and truthful answer (from Ed 002 in particular) which would ultimately prove to be right. So get real guys and girls, cut the Ed's some slack and take on board what is shared instead of questioning every post they make. So, I ask of you Ed002, 1. Is Marquinous (spelling) still a priorty as per last year? Can it possibly happen this window? 2.Morata, is there contact? or is the club looking at other "preferred" options? Mikel, Oscar by my readings will be happily moved on, who are the preferred relpacements? I don't hold you to ransom on this as today is today, tomorrow maybe different! Sorry for the "tirade" Ed002, but I miss the old site where your opions and info were gospel.

{Ed002's Note - Things do change Pete. However, (1) PSG had no intention of selling Marquinhos last summer and have agreed a new contract with him - regardless of interest from Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea. However, the player is continuing to have a difficult time with no regular pattern to his game time and this has led Chelsea to put a marker in place with PSG over another discussion about the player and this has led to some further recent discussions with Chelsea and his representatives. Barcelona have a different player in mind as first choice but will look again to Marquinhos if nothing can be done there - and that situation will be clearer towards the end of June. It is unlikely we will see further interest from Bayern Munich as they have secured their primary target. Manchester City have spoken with his representatives, but again he is not first pick right now. (2) Nothing has changed with Morata - Morata remains of serious interest to Real Madrid who would like to re-sign the player (possibly for the purposes of resale or exchange) but Juventus are looking for a way to keep him unless a replacement is found - Berardi being one possibility and Batshuayi another. There is also interest in him from Chelsea and from Dortmund - who may just be open to a deal involving Aubameyang if Real Madrid push their interest further. Morata would be open to staying in Turin but Juventus would need to discuss the buy back clause with Real Madrid and extend it. (3) John Obi Mikel will possibly be available in the summer, it might depend on the new manager and there is certainly no decision at this time. Previous interest from Al Ain, Monaco, Inter, Napoli and Real Madrid has likely gone. Interest in Obi from Shanghai SIPG may not be welcomed by the player. (4) Chelsea are willing to sacrifice Oscar in the summer with Juventus known to still be keen on the player. PSG have enquired on several occasions, as have Real Madrid, but that interest has all gone. Juventus is constrained from buying non-EU players unless they can make space in their quota. A move to China has been mooted but the player has no interest. (5) There will be changes in midfield but right now the players the club has been interested in are "difficult" buys (like Pogba) or have unacceptable demands (like Pjanic).}

1.) 07 Jun 2016 13:44:06
What's the hold up with Pogba. Is it the player demands or the fee with Juventus? Or that he just doesn't want to join?

2.) 07 Jun 2016 13:32:55
Great post Kiwi Pete and a very interesting reply Ed002.

Ed002 you often mention that Chelsea 'will not be held to ransom' when negotiating for players. Can I just ask, does the football board at Chelsea's approach differ to that of other clubs in that respect? Do they have more defined red lines that they set out and won't cross for example?

You mentioned a while ago that you might be able to shed some light on how the transfer process really works at Chelsea. If you ever have the time would this be possible as it would be incredibly interesting to know the reality.

As an aside, thanks for all the time you give and the valuable insight and information.

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing unusal in clubs not wanting to pay over the odds for players.}

3.) 07 Jun 2016 13:44:06
What's the hold up with Pogba. Is it the player demands or the fee with Juventus? Or that he just doesn't want to join?

{Ed002's Note - There is no "hold up". I have no idea what goes on in your head.}

4.) 07 Jun 2016 17:09:08
I don't think Chelsea would be pushing this hard for pogba if they thought the player would not be interested in the move. I understand it's a hard deal to make especially as we now have no champions league but maybe Chelsea are willing to pay what juventus want but juve are still trying for replacements like pjanic for example. For pogba to further his career he needs a move to England or Spain as Italian football offers nothing anymore especially financial. conte could be a deciding factor, here's hoping ;)

5.) 07 Jun 2016 18:01:21
Chelsea now run a tight ship as others go out and spend what it takes! Like we used to do! But now we like Sam dingle counting his loose change to see if he got enough for a pint in the woolpack.

6.) 07 Jun 2016 21:01:47
Let's be honest pinky, Chelsea are far from counting loose change. We as fans have been spoilt since Roman took over. Go back 20 years and I would not of believed we could compete at the highest level, let alone win a champions league and euro league cup. We could challenge next season without any new signings, but I'm sure a few will join and we will be back up there. The Windows not even open yet so Roman won't like what he seen last season just as much as us fans.

7.) 08 Jun 2016 04:19:50
Nwblue, why do you and a few fellow posters keep repeating this rubbish about us competing next season without any new signings. How? We finish 10 on a the table with Lester City on top and all the other big clubs will get better. Our problems cannot be solved with tactics, we need to overhaul or defence.

8.) 08 Jun 2016 07:14:50
We have a good squad, yes it can be better, but we can still compete. This is real life, not a computer game. Chelsea will not be going and spending £200m. I think no euro football next season could be a blessing but it's highly important that a team like Chelsea get straight back into champions league so would top four be a realistic target, I think it would.

9.) 09 Jun 2016 07:13:54
Thanks for the reply Ed 002, really do appreciate it.

16 Feb 2016 06:56:39
I posted on here a month or two ago that Ivanovich is actually a CB playing at RB and with our resources and at our level why are we playing players out of position.
I actually believe that playing Iva and Cahill as CB's and Dave at right (his natural position where he provides more in attack) and Baba at left (his natural position, he hasn't been required to defend in his limited appearances, so we don't know whether he may be more than capable) could allow us to actually attack PSG at their place and therefore unleash our midfield and striker/ s.
I still think Ivanovich is a fantastic CB, but certainly not a RB as this seasons performances have proved.
Attacking PSG at their home could result in a very good result for us so I'm predicting 2-0 to us. if Guus follows my strategy.
I still maintain that JT (yes, legend and all ) is now holding our team back from being what it can be, solely due to the body not now being able to match the mind. Our style of play will not change until JT is retired. Very sad, but time to move on!

Kiwi Pete

1.) 16 Feb 2016 07:37:28
That's a good post Pete and one which I agree on. Not sure about the 0-2 but Branna is a better CB than JT nowadays for the reasons you mentioned.

2.) 16 Feb 2016 10:09:07
Has gus got your number kiwi pete to follow your strategy I hope so or we are doomed.

3.) 17 Feb 2016 07:50:06
gianfranco gola, line went dead just as we got connected pmsl bugger!
I'm pleased for Baba tonight, I thought he showed why we paid the money we did and I think he will improve hugely now he's had a run out in a real game. I feel it's unfair to give fringe and youth players a start in "easy" cup games, they're almost in a no win situation. Throw them in the deep end, if they are Chelsea quality they will lift and show it, if they're not they won't and we move them on. Top players take their chances when given against top opposition. Due to circumstances this back four got their opportunity tonight and imo will only improve. Won't be at all surprised if this back four are not our "first pick" for the remainder of the season.
And yes the 2-0 probably came from the heart not the head G8. I'm pretty happy with the away goal and where we are at after that game though.

Here in NZ it's Xmas eve, so, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all posters, Eds, and readers on this site an amazing Xmas and a fabulous New Year (that could, for some, depend on results lol) .
A huge thank you especially to all the Ed's who give their time freely, even though it may sometimes may seem unappreciated by a very few.
All the very best to all of you on this site from me :-) :-) :-)

Kiwi Pete

{Ed001's Note - have a very merry Xmas.}

Hope you enjoy the holidays with your family.

I have never gone to other clubs rumour sites, but, after reading JKB's post I (much as it pains me to say) went to the Arse site and read Ed002's post and a few before that which were interesting to say the least!

Whilst I realise that the regular posters on this site value and respect the Ed's (all, but especially Ed002)input it does concern me that our site regularly has abusive posts directed at the Ed's which obviously are deleted so we never see them.

The faithful on here really do appreciate the time and effort all the Ed's put in and don't question, and certainly would never abuse, any of your posts. Your insight and info is truly valued by the regulars, so what can we (the true Chelsea fans) do to rectify this situation?

Please realise and be aware that the value of your comments and posts far outweigh the negative (abusive) posts that you receive from some nondescript's, they certainly do not reflect the feelings or thoughts of the regulars. Thanks to all the Ed's

Kiwi Pete

{Ed002's Note - I will answer direct questions - at least some of them but it really is not worth the grief to do too much. It is not the first time it has happened.}

dadubliner and J and Blueboy, couldn't agree more guys, except, one aspect from blueboy1 (I like a big solid centre back), it's all about attitude mate, size isn't everything (whatever your partners might, or might not, say lol) You want to score, you got to go thru me first, but, I'm not going to lie on the ground being a girls blouse whilst my team concedes no matter how injured I may be.
Whilst I have been a big fan of AC ( fantastic in the bundasleaguer in the past) I now have to admit he is not premiership level on a week in week out basis.
Campions League, yep maybe, where it's about not losing, rather than winning, but EPL, sorry mate but you need to 'Harden up" and grow a pair!

Hey Tom and Turvey, I started supporting our club as a 7 year old in New Zealand, 1967, took me until 2012 to finally get to England to tick the bucket list, live games, un****inbelievable!
I feel for the "more recent" fans that haven't been through the ups and downs (yep I remember Div2) that have been part of our history. To see where we are now on the worldwide stage, and our profile as a "top four" side in English football, to me, is truly amazing, given our past. Thanks Ken for selling, thanks Roman for buying!

C'mon guys (and girls) Let's try and get things in perpective, Gilmour looked great in 2 (yes 2) performances ( don't get me wrong, I think he is the real thing given time), However FL has to work with what works best in a "team formation" Given whichever formation we are playing. Against the lesser teams (who tend to sit back) Jurginho certainly tends to dictate play with a forward momentum which is great, however against a pressing team he gets put under a lot of pressure (due to his lack of speed) and we suffer.
It's early days yet, let's let FL sort things out (I seriously rate this guys intelligence) whilst dealing with players expectations. I am seriously concerned (Given comments on here and especially from ED 002) that CHO is just maybe not going to cut it at Chelsea with his attitude.
We did however get caught on the hop against Liverpool, after the sending off, but to be realistic, what team could compete against the present liverpool team with 10 men.
I feel we will improve immensely during this year and next year we will be right in contention for everything.
Just a little patience needed people, there is a dynasty building!

With the fixtures to be played this season and the timing (shortened) every player in the squad will get game time and starts this season. It will be up to the individual whether they take those chances or not, if they do they will secure their spot in our squad, if they don't they will move on at season end. That is how professional sport works. So, with CHO (and every other player tbh) the ball is entirely in their court. No gimmies at this level, you got to work for it (whilst being obscenely paid I might add)

Tom, if you recall Ed002 has been saying for a long while now that the club "rate" Maatsen and see him as the future when ready ( sorry if I've misinterpreted your previous comments ED002) so great that he's getting game time and good reviews.
I reckon the club are maybe way ahead in the future planning dept than many of us fans give them credit for.
So many new (and exciting) additions this year, which one would expect to take time to gel (if we were being honestly realistic) and yet i feel we are almost overachieving at this stage of the season and we will only get better and better.
Feeling very positive!

I still feel language is a problem, and with Mendy, Silva, Zouma and Azpi (all french speaking) we have a base in our defence, Chillwell is just a class above what we had and will fill the void on the left. Given time ( not too much lol) I still think our defence will come good and therefore let our attack develop into what we all wish for. Can't wait for Gilmour to be back (energy, athleticism and a proper dm) to make it all tick and to offer another alternative.

Huge turnaround in playing staff this year ( and injuries) which will take time to "gel" so I still feel we all need to be a little patient but I have the feeling that as the season progresses we will get better and better and better. I only see things improving if we fans just show a little patience. As I said in another post, it's not how you start the season, it's how you end it. I'm thinking we'll end it much better than most of us hoped.

Every club has an Ozil, that they've overpaid for with little, or no return, see Bogarde lol. It happens, every transfer is a "punt", no matter how much "due diligence" is undertaken. The last couple of years, I feel, our club has started to get it right! All our transfers this year I feel are "potentially" great, thank you Marina! Whilst I expect our team to perform and gain some "success" this year I feel that next year our club may become (dare I say it) a juggernaut.
Time will tell' I still believe!

Antibot, you go support Inter then, I'd have Timo over Lukaku any day of the week. Lukaku's touch has improved, but it's still rubbish, he's in Italy not England, much more time there.
He had his chance here at Chelsea, then at ManU. There's a reason he's in Italy, he isn't good enough in England!

Mate, if he'd rather be there than at chelsea then good luck and goodbye, we only want players who want to play for our club rather than having it gifted. Hopefully his feet aren't getting too cold as they're maybe to big for his boots.
