Are the links to Filip Jorgensen true Ed02. Seems like a perfect choice for Moresca's style of playing out from the back. Any info appreciated. Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - Not at the top of the list.}
1.) 22 Jul 2024 19:27:14
Ok Ed. Thanks for the reply. I think he is a already a fantastic keeper and will no doubt go on to bigger and better things than Villarreal. Would be a great deal for the prices mentioned. Do you have any info on the keepers higher up the list. It’s quite a key position for the club to fill this window, so anything you could tell us would be great.
{Ed002's Note - I no longer provide lists. It just causes trouble.}
2.) 23 Jul 2024 00:21:16
No problem Ed02, thanks for the reply .
3.) 24 Jul 2024 10:46:15
I've heard we're interested in Jorgensen, Hermansen, Alvaro Valles, and Lunin. Not sure what order our preference is. Alvaro Valles would be my favoured option - 6'6" with elite shot stopping and distribution stats. Hermansen has worked with Maresca last season though which would be helpful. Lunin would also likely unlock the Kepa to Real Madrid deal too.
20 May 2024 10:15:29
Morning Ed02
I noticed on the Arsenal page when answering a question about Sesko you mentioned Chelsea had a preferred option who will most likely join.
Is our preferred option still Osimhen or has our interest moved on to another striker?
Many thanks in advance.
{Ed002's Note - It is.}
1.) 20 May 2024 10:18:53
Thanks for the reply, exciting news if we manage to bring him to the club.
2.) 20 May 2024 10:56:46
Personally would rather Sesko. Probably in the minority but Osimhen will command a much bigger fee and he’s injury prone. Having Jackson and Osimhen both going to AFCON at the same time would leave us short up front too in my opinion.
3.) 20 May 2024 13:20:02
Totally agree eith you Barnet.
4.) 20 May 2024 20:01:15
Ed002 what changed? Does osimhen want to join now? Are Napoli willing to negotiate lower than the clause? Lukakau or other players maybe involved?
{Ed002's Note - Victor Osimhen (S) Napoli made it clear to Chelsea who enquired in 2021 that even €100M would not buy the player - but they do maintain an interest and he has been first choice and expect an offer to be made in the summer - they have already assured Napoli that they will pay his release clause in full – but that may change.
Al Hilal may well have offered Napoli the huge fee they were looking for, but that may not suit the player just yet. Real Madrid could look to him as an option to Haaland but Madrid would want to offer players in exchange. He has signed a new contract and, at the behest of his agent, included a release clause. Arsenal have a preferred option and see the price as too high. PSG have him on a list of potential Mbappe replacements.
If Manchester City were to lose Haaland, he would be an option. Manchester United may offer a wildcard option but the change of staff could end any interest. There is a suggestion that Liverpool have negotiated directly with the player and his agent and not spoken to Napoli.
Given Napoli registered a complaint against Liverpool over another player last year, it would seem unlikely, or particularly stupid. In the players hands next summer - may decide to stay but there will be a return from Michael Emanalo with a very good offer but I understand that both PSG and Chelsea have already informed Napoli that remain keen - but Chelsea have not had a positive response from the player - perhaps because of the lack of Champions League football.
Chelsea are already looking at options but could make a take-it-or-leave-it offer below his release clause with discussions over one or two other players going on between the clubs but Chelsea relaim confident a deal can be agreed.}
5.) 20 May 2024 21:05:07
Agree,
I’ve posted about Gyokeres, but the fee is just as high as Osimhen.
31 Jul 2023 14:02:07
Ed is it true we are after Elye Wahi and planning to loan him straight out to Strasbourg?
Also are Strasbourg really in negotiations for Arsen Zachariah?
Thanks.
{Ed002's Note -
Arsen Zakharyan (AM) Numerous clubs sent scouts but it was Chelsea who had an ex-player attend a couple of games to look at another player and he identified Zakharyan as worthy of a second look - but the transfer was halted due to the invation of Ukraine. A move to Turkey never materialised and now we see Chelsea interest maintained though Strasbourg whist Lazio ponder their options.
Elye Wahl (LW/RW/S) Young Montpellier forward who is having a very good season but is perhaps not ready to step up to the Premier League but there has been interest from the Championship and particularly QPR. Wolves, Crystal Palace and Everton have sent scouts to watch him at the behest of Mendes who is hawking him around and I suspect CP will make an offer although they have now signed their Olise replacement. Eintracht Frankfurt see him as a potential replacement for Randal Kolo Muani. Suggested Chelsea could sign him and ship him off the Strasbourg which makes some sense, but remains unconfirmed and the player does not want to end up in Alsace. The lady from Marseille says stay well clear of him and Chelsea may heed those words. Union Berlin may follow up with another offer. Atletico have declared an interest. Wildcard may be Arsenal but it is hard to see where he will get game time.}
1.) 31 Jul 2023 15:19:40
Hi Ed, apologies if this is a question more suited to Crystal Palace than Chelsea, but I notice you say that Palace have signed their Olise replacement. Would it be correct to state that the replacement is Matheus França, and in addition to this, is the expectation now that Olise will move this summer - be it to Chelsea or otherwise?
Thanks as always.
{Ed002's Note - Yes on both accounts.}
2.) 31 Jul 2023 15:26:43
Interstate stuff Ed. Thankyou very much.
3.) 31 Jul 2023 15:30:57
Thanks Ed. Was this always the plan re Olise? If so, terribly bad luck with his injury at the u21s. Fingers crossed he can make a full recovery.
{Ed002's Note - No.}
4.) 31 Jul 2023 21:18:39
I would steer clear of Wahi. He has been subject to two serious allegations in France.
5.) 31 Jul 2023 23:30:22
Ed002 is the plan to get just Olise or could we get Kudus aswell as him? T and are reports that Juve are offering vlahovic in a deal for lukaku and we are willing to do it true? Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - Don't try to complicate things.}
6.) 31 Jul 2023 23:46:10
Agreed Jimbo, might as well sign Greenwood whilst we're at it.
05 Jul 2023 18:41:11
Some quite exciting news regarding our goalkeeper situation. Seems like Porto keeper Diogo Costa may well be heading to Chelsea!
1.) 05 Jul 2023 20:08:33
Ed002 are we getting Costa? a lot of reports saying we want to pay the €75m clause in 3 installments? Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement.}
2.) 05 Jul 2023 20:44:41
I’ve also read this as Jorge Mendes is trying to make it happen. Not sure what that means for Slonina. Martinez would be solid for a few years or just get Maignan if we actually want a class goalkeeper.
3.) 06 Jul 2023 08:35:21
Can't remember but how old was Chech went he went into the first team and how old is Solnina now.
4.) 06 Jul 2023 18:55:38
Cech was 21/ 22 I think when he joined.

Young Alfie Gilchrist going home with Son in his pocket tonight, we'll played lad. The whole back four were superb. Great performance! C'mon you mighty f'ing blues!
1.) 02 May 2024 22:15:29
Yes well done Algie and NM for helping out on defensively on that side too especially in second half.
03 Sep 2023 10:35:59 Sometimes I get the impression that we have some of the worst fans going. It's like reading the ramblings of a group of spoilt kids who didn't get what they wanted for Christmas. I'm not sure if it's just the new fan base who are used to winning everything and just expect it to keep going. This page has become toxic after just 4 games into the season whilst the squad has gone through a total rebuild with a new manager and new owners. The same group of posters posting the same negative rubbish over and over again on every post. Sometimes it makes me wonder it they actually want the club to succeed as you don't see them post after a positive result. Are they even Chelsea fans at all? Give it time!
1.) 03 Sep 2023 10:49:43
Hdkn, I totally agree with the sentiment of your post.
2.) 03 Sep 2023 11:12:38
The new owners have been in place for over 12 months for reference.
3.) 03 Sep 2023 11:14:14
Agreed, HDKN.
I have completely stopped checking this site on days like yesterday.
Sadly, it is almost insufferable to read some of the posts on hear, where I imagine much rubbish is filtered away by the Eds in the first place.
Visiting sites like Twitter or Reddit is even worse, and people seem to be unable to understand that football must have lows just as it can have highs.
I, like the rest of us, am of course very dissatisfied with the team's results and form over the last 20 or so months, but we have an ownership which is not afraid of doing things unlike any other teams has ever done.
I genuinely believe that we are going in the right direction, and even if time will tell that we are not, there is only so little us fans can do about it, other than at least try and support the team.
4.) 03 Sep 2023 11:15:57
Oh come off it. If you want me to all positive after our worst league start in however many years, go for it. But don't act like it's irrational to discuss concerns about a team that can't perform against Nottingham Forest after spending a billion pounds.
If I could get to the stadiums from overseas, I woukd be supporting and cheering my team on all game. But they're professionals, we're allowed to criticise online. Love my club, and hope we do well, but it's extremely embarrassing to be in such a state (again, it's early days, but does it look like anything is going to change? ) After spending a billion pounds.
We're just not good enough and everyone involved should absolutely be held accountable. Respect to you if you're happy with mediocrity and poor performances, but we shoukd be better.
Hope everyone's going well though, at the end of the day, it's just football. Don't let it affect the rest of your day lads.
5.) 03 Sep 2023 11:53:44
Standard, you keep using the word “mediocrity” as if it’s something Chelsea fans are happy with or have indicated they would be happy with.
Have you considered it might be you and others who might be “irrational” to think it wasn’t going to take time for the manager and players to settle into becoming a team?
It’s irrational to call a player of a team you support a “donkey”.
I doubt there is a supporter of our club who is happy with yesterdays result but I believe mist will see it as work in progress.
6.) 03 Sep 2023 12:01:43
Standard, my post might have come off as a bit too 'sour'.
Of course one should be allowed to voice their opinions and unhappiness with the state of the team.
I just think people have become too reactionary and a bit too passionate in voicing their critique.
7.) 03 Sep 2023 12:12:13
You do know that Arsenal will play in the CL for the first time in SEVEN years. United the world biggest club have dipped in and out of the CL for years doing nothing. and The PL’s self appointed “greatest ever” team Liverpool won exactly what many of us on here would describe as a good but not great Chelsea team, CL, CWC, SL, indeed even Chelsea won their EL final to boot, whereas Klopp’s mob managed to lose from a winning position. (If memory serves me) . It happens it’s football. The one difference is the spend. The problem we are all having as Chelsea fans is the spending, it reeks of arrogance and gives opponents an extra edge to get their teeth into when facing this group. Plus dare I say it, the club have not carried one shred of luck. West Ham did nought, and Forrest defenders like trojans, if. Chelsea had beaten Liverpool it would have been deserved. I think it will turn. I would slightly change the mentality for a while. Tuchel played not to lose as opposed to playing to win, (something I detested) . Poch, has to baby step step this team into a place of confidence, where they keep the back door closed, that means Caicedo positioning has to be right, so far he has not because the CBs will take their line from him. Step one, stop losing the game.
8.) 03 Sep 2023 12:20:26
So the new owners have been in place for 12 months? And it that time have completely overhauled an aging, overpaid and underperforming squad. Do you think it a simple task? Do you think people just right a list of players we want, make a phone call and the next day they turn up at Cobham? Oh and obviously these young players are meant to come with years of experience of playing with their new team mates?
Mediocre? A completely refreshed and newly built team with a stunningly low average age? Who’ve been together properly for how long? A month?
I’ve supported Chelsea for well over 30 years, and although it’s not nice to lose to Forest, I understand what’s happening and see a much more positive future. People who say we let a proven goal scorer leave in Lukaku, the man didn’t want to play for us, undermined the club and I don’t know if you remember, but the last season he played for us, scored 8 goals in 26 premier league games. Can we start being a bit rational?!? People will argue we didn’t play to his strengths, so we should be building a team around an aging pre Madonna like him? Give me a break.
Look at our squad. Look at the quality. Look at the age. Look at our injury list.
If it’s really that bad, just go and support another team who operate in a way that you’re happier with. Otherwise why not just quit moaning and open your eyes to the HUGE positives surrounding our club.
9.) 03 Sep 2023 12:40:33
For “reference” our new owners have done a remarkable job in changing a significant part of our playing staff and structure in just 12 months (three windows) .
10.) 03 Sep 2023 13:01:18
Stephen and Ian, tremendous posts in my opinion lads.
11.) 03 Sep 2023 13:33:57
IanB83 yes just yea.
12.) 03 Sep 2023 14:57:55
Really happy to see quite a lot of you havnt written the team of so early. Shame some have but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I’m still excited about this season. I’m a realist and never expected the team to hit the ground running, it’s a work in progress. It could take a couple of seasons for us to get back to the top again with this young squad but no matter how long I’m going to support all the lads and enjoy the ride! KTBFFH!
13.) 03 Sep 2023 15:26:04
Standard I respect your views on the thread. Like I have always said some of us are hypocrites. Mischievous and often come across as sadistic. When someone is extremely toxic but turn around and call others toxic. It's unnatural to have problems and pretend as they don't exist. Bothers on stupidity. Claiming sanctimonious won't help anyone improve.
Chelsea have spent a whopping amount on new players more than everyone else but still worst than they were but it's fans that chose to lament their frustration are your problems.
Yes the fans are used to winning and don't see any problem with complaining when it stops coming. we are becoming a joke.
I had really rated pochetino especially the manager to over sea such tremendous rebuild for a Chelsea team. In rebuilding the manager must be one who instills the winning mentality like mourinho did. Poch is never such a manager. But we can only hope he surprised us but its not looking it.
Anything like what we've seen so far will always attract complaints. 5 matches and we have already lost 2 and you want us to cheer the team results. You can't be a Chelsea fans when a west ham is on top of everyone including beating us.
14.) 03 Sep 2023 16:15:19
I don’t think anyone is pretending that we don’t have improvements to be made, or development to be done. Given the situation surely that’s to be expected? No?
Being positive about our club and business given what’s been achieved in the transfer market and looking at the wonderful young talent we now have isn’t irrational. How many squads in the premier league would you genuinely swap with?
5 games in and you’re expecting miracles to have been worked and a new team to be firing on all cylinders. That is irrational.
15.) 03 Sep 2023 17:02:10
Lovely to see some actual fans in here.
Well said HDKN and others.
16.) 03 Sep 2023 17:23:28
Again Ian spot on mate.
17.) 04 Sep 2023 07:01:55
Ilo' I am a chelsea supporter no matter what the WEST HAM result, perhaps it is you that need the mirror, not I.
18.) 04 Sep 2023 13:50:09
Those who only want to be behind a team when they're successful highlights the difference between fans and supporters. Maybe a period of little success will do some weeding – I'd prefer fewer fans and more supporters. Youth needs nurturing. It's a bit of an insane gamble to populate a whole team with callow youngsters for huge amounts of money (whilst selling the products of an academy that's literally made for the purpose of adding that profile of player to the team in order to balance the books on those purchases) but these young players are never going to come good without being supported at all levels. Those in the stands loading bile onto the players (young boys, effectively, many of whom, let's remember, have only known each other for a relatively short space of time) need to seriously look at themselves – what is it lacking in their own lives that makes them need to project onto a football team's success for their own mental wellbeing? To crave immediate success to the degree that not getting it leads them to react like toddlers denied an ice cream? It's not only pathetic, but clearly counterproductive to their desire, which is having the team play well.
19.) 04 Sep 2023 14:15:22
Great post EdW.
20.) 04 Sep 2023 17:01:44
Edw, I agree that some of the posts have been over the top on both sides of the debate. From my point of view some of our transfers since the new owners are questionable but we are we we are. I am sure things will improve once the players start to gel. However, in all honesty I don’t believe any of our forwards have any goals in them which is problematic. Some people are hanging their hats on Nkunku but he won’t be available until the New and will be returning from a long term injury never having played in the PL. I still think not spending money on an out- and out striker was a big mistake. I don’t believe many of any posters suggested we would win anything this season but given the investment it isn’t unreasonable to expect us to challenge for the top 4 or 5 whatever it is now.
21.) 04 Sep 2023 18:43:37
Jimbo. We have one poster wanting Lukaku and that’s the main problem there just aren’t that many top class and available CF’s about.
I would have loved Osimhen but having visited Napoli a few moths ago I couldn’t see that deal being sanctioned. I also like the guy from Juve but it looks like the club weren’t that keen.
Loads of posters want Toney but the is there is well documented.
Ferguson from Brighton looked very good at our place before he got a first half injury and he looks to be carrying his form into this season.
It ain’t easy, so we end up waiting and hoping for Nkunku.
22.) 04 Sep 2023 18:48:05
EdW, there was one game last season when GP was our manager when I walked out on the match, not because of another poor performance but because of the hateful comments from season ticket holders in the MH upper.
My big regret is I didn’t report them. I truly felt like a coward. My worst fan experience at the bridge.
23.) 04 Sep 2023 18:57:34
Remarkable job, world and European champions 3rd in premier league, 2 domestic finals
1 billion spent - 4 games in, 2 losses, a draw and only win was the mighty Luton town,
I redeveloped my garden, quickly too, got rid of the pond and decking and nice grass, now it’s just cc
Concrete and stones, cost me 4 x as much as my neighbours but he was helpful, he sold me his old materials.
This isn’t the players fault, goals are the hardest thing to do in football, I’m angry at these owners for freaking up a 2030 vision and ignoring us NOW, where any these signings goalscorers before we bought them,? We just hoping all of a sudden they become goslscoriing machines and instinct in front of goal,
Son, at spurs, will be the example, terrible last season but his history tell us his knows how to put ball in the net? Then you add a manager to work to strengths and refind that form, then add someone who’s proven in this league to help said player get results in Maddison. we’ve bought players who haven’t harnessed their end product yet and hoping they do in next few years.
24.) 04 Sep 2023 20:56:07
Tom, you’re right very hard to get a top striker: we were never going to get Oshimen, I would have taken a punt on Vlahovic. I like Jackson’s work rate and attitude but so far his finishing is poor and a CF who isn’t good in the air is an issue. I am worried that too much expectation is being put on Nkunku for his first season in the PL.
25.) 04 Sep 2023 22:08:56
Matt, sit in your new garden and chill out mate!
Just in case you forgot we do have a player in our squad who may well have a comparable premiership scoring record to Son but he was booed off the pitch all last season. You never know he might score some goals for us this year! My charity bet wants him to score all over 12 this season. Two down ten to go!
26.) 04 Sep 2023 22:14:50
Jimbo, I agree with you entirely that the owners have something to answer for here.
My personal feeling is that it's morally irresponsible to burden a 21 or 22 year old with a £110 million transfer fee (let's not even think about the fact that this is a fee for players that don't directly solve the team's main issue – goals) . The levels of expectation for these boys – and let's be realistic, we're talking about young adults not far from being actual children – would be unfair even if you didn't then throw in hostile crowds who want them to fail and a team full of strangers. Besides which, as Stephen said early, and as I'm sure others have said, the owners have effectively hardwired extra motivation into every player from a team outside the top six that plays us. It shows a stunning lack of awareness of both fairly basic psychology and the history of mega-money transfers in football generally.
27.) 04 Sep 2023 23:58:45
Tom, I'm sorry you felt like you had to leave. They must've really been giving it something awful.
My worst experience at the Bridge was in the wake of that disgraceful business on the Paris metro – in hindsight holding up a sign saying 'Say no to racism at the Bridge' in the Shed End was probably somewhat naive, but I genuinely was surprised at the amount of vitriol it stirred up. Funny how a certain kind of person feels comfortable starting a sentence 'I'm not a racist but. ' then go on to criticise, in no uncertain terms, a sign that doesn't even call for an end to racism everywhere, or even (if you look at it) really criticise racism, simply advises to reject it in a place where Black players regularly play.
I have to admit something in my heart died a little that day.
28.) 05 Sep 2023 07:12:54
EdW, that must have been awful.
Having been a supporter of club for over sixty years I have witnessed some of the most awful racist chanting/ behaviour from our fans.
I often try to dismiss it as “it being a long time ago” or it was different in those day” but NO it was just AWFUL.
I told my children many a story about the general behaviour of that generation of football fan and I like to think they have grown up to be we rounded individuals who show tolerance towards others. It felt almost felt like the only I could do to change things, if that makes sense.
Anyway, the atmosphere within grounds has generally improved. Thankfully.
29.) 05 Sep 2023 18:02:50
Tom, things have definitely improved but we can’t be complacent about it. I remember how bad things were when I was a teenager going to football. There was also the violence. I grew up in a tough area but I remember hating going to West Ham and the relief of re-entering North West London in one piece. Although there is still the odd dust up, things have definitely got better on that score.
15 Aug 2023 17:23:12
So excited by the Olise news, fantastic little player . Happy he's coming back to the Bridge!
I honestly havnt enjoyed a transfer window as much as this since 2003/ 4 season with Duff, Crespo, Joe Cole etc . Boehly is certainly showing he means buisness.
1.) 15 Aug 2023 19:55:20
I'm absolutely loving it
All last year I was saying I would love olise at chelsea he's such a good player so is eze to to be honest.
01 Aug 2023 07:33:54
Morning Ed
Is there any substance to reports of us being interested in Dusan Vlahovic with Lukaku going the other way to Juve. Seems like an ideal situation for all parties with us gaining a top striker to compete with Jackson whilst also managing to get shot of Lukaku and his high wages at the same time.
Many thanks.
{Ed002's Note - RTP.}
1.) 01 Aug 2023 09:15:22
Sorry Ed, didn’t see the post on the rumours page. Thanks.
28 Jul 2023 16:09:21
Slonina going out on loan. Makes me think we must be pretty confident of a new keeper joining soon.
27 Aug 2024 13:13:37
Three players out the door already today . Kepa, Anjorin and Lukaku.
18 Aug 2024 18:15:15
Sorry Ed must of missed it.
18 Aug 2024 14:00:11
Hi Ed, are the club looking at a permanent deal or is it a loan like some people are reporting. Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - I have answered this.}
09 Aug 2024 16:49:24
Excited about the Neto signing but I really hope this doesn’t mean that Noni is leaving. Really think he’s got the makings of a top, top player and his sale could come back to haunt us.
Fingers crossed it’s Sterling on his way out but I just really can’t see anybody willing to pay his wages.
03 Aug 2024 13:29:11
Thankyou for the reply Ed. I hope he stays.
25 Aug 2024 07:06:45
He’s got a point tho.
12 Aug 2024 10:38:26
Some more than others Tomb unfortunately.
I take little notice to what’s being posted on social media, I will always just wait for info from Ed or a club statement.
None of us no what’s truly going on, I’m just in it for the ride and will support my club no matter what happens over the next few weeks.
12 Aug 2024 09:25:41
You seem to believe you can predict the future RBD, if that’s the case can you share this weeks Lotto numbers with the rest of us.
Your opinions (which you our obviously more than welcome to) are just opinions, not facts. You have no more insight or information of what’s going on behind closed doors at the club than of the rest of us.
Maybe hold back for a bit and wait until the transfer window has closed before reacting to every single click bait article you read in the paper or social media.
09 Aug 2024 16:51:02
Wow! Who stuck a quid in Matt Martin? He’s really on one today!
01 Aug 2024 16:42:42
I couldn’t agree more Tom.
