We have wasted money massively if you look at what we've signed compared to what we needed in the past few windows.

We should be signing the best there is, we're Chelsea football club. A lot of the players signed aren't good enough to play for us.

To go into a season with a keeper as poor as Sanchez as our no.1, a distinct lack of quality in wide positions, no real creativity and no out and out striker is embarrassing. Nkunku is world class but not your proper no.9 and is probably more of a second striker.

Whether it's Boehly, the sporting directors, poch or all 3, someone is to blame for it.

Out of all the players we've signed, Palmer, Nkunku, Gusto and Enzo are the only ones probably worthy of starting for us. The rest are either bang average, unproven, overrated or going to take time we don't have.

dan, I’m not why the club hasn’t got “time”?

It could be that our club goes into the trophy wilderness for several seasons. Clubs like Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle and Liverpool have all suffered long periods without trophies and survived. All of them have spent significant amounts of money looking for success. Why should we be any different.

We have signed a lot of players and my guess would be that some of them will not be successful for CFC but that happens at every club.

My expectations for this season was pretty low but I would expect us to challenge for honours next season but that will be dependant on a few things.

Dan I agree with you regardless of the ridiculous reply to it by others who claim to always have opinions on every issue. Obviously, we have been ineffective for the amount we spent, and I'm sure spent it not to take a break from winning trophies or even contest for trophies. How anyone who claims to be more Chelsea than others will rather want the club to go out of boils on success for a few seasons instead of improving on our already established top level.

Often this season I feel we only have to keep mudryk and nkuku among our attackers and let others leave for not being Chelsea level except for palmer, who for now should be a sub until when he's fully ready. If we can get more experienced and proven attackers, we can even dominate like city because we are only lacking mainly in that area. Though we still need to bring in an experienced and proven cb as Thiago will be off end of the season and a left back as Chilwell is not reliable due to being injury prone. Mc is also not consistently reliable as he can be good on occasions but not stable. Gusto can keep the right in the absence of James, which is feels like always.

Sterling and even madueke should leave and more proven attackers brought in and a striker. I even dare dream we should invest in mbape or try out for vini Jr who doesn't also seem fully settled at Madrid. We don't play badly but can't finish up the chances. Only a striker may not even be enough unless nkuku is back and firing. We lack goalscorers and effectiveness among the attackers.

No one is happy to go out of reckoning after tasting success over a a long period. We can't stop growing. It's weird and ridiculous that any acclaimed fan would even be comfortable with such a situation. The middle is okay. Only need creative midfielder but not a priority. Let's I forget Chelsea should get a worldie goalkeeper.

Ilo, NO Chelsea fan will be “happy” or “comfortable with CFC going through a season without winning any trophies. If we win zero trophies this year, I think it’s our third season without winning a domestic trophy.

The point is other clubs who ever spent money have gone through long periods without winning trophies. So, it wouldn’t be unusual for a club like CFC to go through a period of Winning nothing.

Also, I can’t think of how any CFC fan can be more of a fan than any other CFC fan.

As far as the players we have signed are concerned, I have no idea how many of them will be CFC player’s long term. I can’t tell you what players will be deemed as a waist of money at this stage in their CFC career History dictates that some will not be what CFC want but as I say this happens at every club.

My general view is, give players time to settle into the club, allowing them all a run if matches in the first team before we make judgements. I personally would rather take time over such a decision than risk anther potential KDB or Salah outcome.

ilo, that's a bias opinion, your post is full of pessimism as always, you don't seems to ever disappoint. You mentioned lot of names and if everyone takes a myopic view as you, where's the way forward? you are suggesting replacement for nearly half of the team again! Investments needs time to mature, Man city, Arsenal, Liverpool all bidded their time to get it right, so let's give the project time. Am sorry if I sound too personal.
