I'm concerned about the change in the goalkeeping, mendy is now replaced as the 1st choice with kepa.
I want to state that it's a mistake to drop mendy for kepa and we continue to be shaky and concede needless goals with kepa. Mendy may not be good with ball @ his feet but he's a very dependable keeper than kepa can ever be. Mendy should be restored to the no 1. We can cut out the back pass t the keeper which put them under unnecessary pressure. Even kepa had ade similar mistakes as medy just lucky they didn't result in goal against us.

There are occasions where we have conceded goals with kepa that I'm sure mendy could have done better. I can assure you that in similar situations every day kepa wi concede such goals again because they are his weaknesses. Mendy took us through us what could be the most successful season yet but get dropped for a tweak in form for kepa who had cost us trophies through his fiery and unprofessional conducts like refusing to be subbed even when the coach was screaming from the touchline and we went in to lose the the game, ultimately Losing the trophy. Against Liverpool he mindlessly blasted the ball 5o stand in a last penalty kick to hand over the trophy to the lops.

Vs Fulham and City fa, made us lose both games. Mendy is far better goalkeeper and should be restored or we continue to lose on little details.
If Mendy is not good enough we should get another goalkeeper maybe martinez avilla and keep Mendy for back up. besides kepa is on huge wage and with the new signings our wage bills obviously will need reducing.

ilo, take the blinkers off and put in your post all the games Mendy has cost us. He can’t hold a ball and with the ball at his feet he is scary.

I am not saying Kepa is the answer but he can at least pass the ball and that’s pretty basic stuff for a footballer and a must nowadays for any keeper.

Kepa is not faultless but Mendy is very poor: one of the worst in the PL. All the top keepers are taken so we will have to do with what we have. There are other areas the need attention and we have Slonina in the background.

Tomb, you couldn't say kepa is a better goalkeeper than mendy. Passing has never been a basic skill for the goalkeepers primarily are they're to stop ball from going into the net and mendy is far better than kepa in doing that and that's what matters here.

Remember kepa was a mistake and a panic buy to replace courteous whose departure was somewhat unplanned. We fell for his hype in Spain. At least mendy didn't show those weaknesses in our run for the ucl triumph and others.

Bit much to force Mendy to play with a broken finger.

ilo, I’m staggered that you have chosen to respond to a post.

Mendy played well for a period of time and that’s good but he has been average best for a while now and Kepa deserved his chance and generally speaking he deserves to keep his place.

I repeat, I am NOT saying Kepa is the answer but Mendy certainly isn’t the answer.

Potter is very much a coach who favours build up play to include the goalkeeper, Sanchez at Brighton very much fitted that criteria so in that sense it is natural that Kepa is favoured right now (just my take on things) . I’m hoping that the GK position is the focus ahead of next season however the potential options may be slim….
