I keep reading on rumours and banter forums about what we might, or might not do this transfer window, and what "us' fans would like.
End of day, if a player wants to come (ala Haaland) he will, if he see's his future at RM next year at a reduced fee, then that's where he will be. I totally get get Ed 002's repeated statements that players are now transient, something I feel we, as supporter's, need to get our heads around. If Lewndowski wants to prove himself in another league at 50 mill, I respect that and would welcome him, as he has a point to prove and is still (age aside, although Bayren rate him as much younger than his age) world class.
Tammy has had his chance, opportunities v converted, not good enough, let him go, make some money. Tammy will be a good player for a lower team in the PL but doesn't have that X factor required at Chelsea. Broja has signed a new deal, maybe he can be the next graduate to come through, maybe not.
We at Chelsea, at this level, are only interested in the "finished article" hence Conner will have another loan season, Billy (much as he has impressed) will be the same, and if they can take that next step and prove themselves they will be integrated into the squad as proven performers who add value at the top level.
As a club, we are focused on achieving at the very highest level (as we did last year whoop, whoop) however, bringing in acadamy players to fill spots is a huge step tbh! Jourgino, who lots of fans bagged as a chelsea player, is now a serious contender for the Ballon'D'or after his performances for Italy . Who knows what is actually going on, I trust the club have a plan in place, moving fwd!
I love my club and trust that management has a strategic plan in place.

Good post Pete. You know what the great pugilist and philosopher Mike Tyson said about plans: “ Everyone has got a plan until they get a punch in the mouth “.

Most enjoyable post Kiwi, I agree with the majority of it.

I trust the club to come up with solutions and I’m sure they have plenty of alternative plans if they fail with their first choices.

Shame about Tammy. He just went missing against higher end of the table teams.

And if all else fails Jimbo, just bite their ear off lol
I, as do you all I'm guessing, as fans, only want the best for our club, however, this "sport" is now a business, which the players are now controlling (along with their money hungry agents) their future. I'm sure the club realises this and will work though things to challenge again at the highest level.

True Pete, football is now a business/ entertainment industry involving huge amounts of money through sponsorship and TV money . There is no going back but the fans love the history and rivalry of the the game. Chelsea’s board appear to have a high standard of business acumen which will keep the club in the top tier of European football.
