Just wondered if anyone had any insight into the potential punishments the so called "big six" are likely to face.

Personally a points deduction and a European football ban would be a start!

Dan23, why punish the players and fans who had nothing to do with all this?!

Demanding that and forcing through punitive penalties the guilty club Directors to resign would be an appropriate punishment.

And in English football we need to adopt the German system of club ownership of 50% plus 1 - a system that includes fan participation and ownership of shares in their club.

Some clubs, ie Everton want points deducted, this is to suit them more than anything else.

MDW, can I suggest you look at becoming a CPO.

I have four shares tucked away somewhere and as an organisation they can and do make regular representations to the club on various issues.

I sent them an email as a shareholder on the ESL issue and got back an immediate response.

It’s not about punishing the players or us fans. But I don’t think a board member stepping down is good enough and then they just expect the footballing world to forget about it because some suit lost their job?

Hit the clubs in the pocket, European ban = less revenue and points deduction means less money from a premier league finish. This whole scam was about more money after all so take it away from them and take away the things they undermined I. e. premier league and Europe.

I too am a CPO, Tom. Bought my 1 share to stand a chance of getting a ticket for the Chelsea - Man Utd FA Cup final, which I did. Disappointing day out though, especially as I was sat with a small group of Chelsea fans surrounded my Man Utd fans!

I got one for myself and one each as a birthday present for my sons BruCe. I’m not sure they were that happy!

I find them useful to have a moan at. I’m always bringing up the away fans in the Shed. It’s outrageous.

TomB, funnily enough, the CPOs are a reason why I have some remaining doubts over the fans having share ownership and influence. Personally, I felt that the CPOs held Chelsea's progress back when they dug their feet in over RA building a new stadium away from the Bridge.

Looking at the yuppification of Battersea Power Station just makes me think that it would be much better as Chelsea's new home rather than a bland series of £1 million studio flats (you could pay a week's worth of Haaland's wages for that! )!

I agree about the attempts to develop Battersea power station MDW but I think it was reasonable for the CPO’s to question any move away from its historical home. I personally was in favour of the move.

If I remember correctly the CPO’s were happy for the the redevelopment of the present ground.

I may well be reinventing history MDW and I’m sorry if my memory is incorrect.

MWD I agree with you about the stadium issue: the plans approved for the redevelopment of the Bridge required digging down 15 metres and the cost was estimated at 1 billion which no doubt would have increased and all for an extra 18000 seats. I don’t think that option is tenable. Spurs were able to redevelop on their existing site because they were able to acquire land around the ground which is not possible for us because of the cemetery and railway. The Battersea site would have been ideal for us. The stadium issue will have to be revisited in the next few years but the only realistic solution is a new site which is difficult to find in our catchment area otherwise the CPO which just have accept Stamford Bridge as it is.
