{Ed002's Note - Mason Mount (AM/ CM) Yet to agree a new contract and could depart if he is not more reasonable in his demands - and his demands are very significant. Real Madrid and Juventus, both via a third party, have asked after him. Juventus won't match his wage demands but they have a tax advantage, but I suspect they can be discounted unless a trade for Vlahovic, possibly including another player, could be arranged. Real Madrid are looking to move on a couple of high earners in the summer so could afford him, but it depends on departures. Manchester City have declared an interest with Chelsea during discussions over another player but they can likely be discounted. Barcelona have made a direct approach to Chelsea but the salary demands would be an issue. There is no declared interest from PSG or Bayern Munich, who are two other clubs who could afford him, although with a change of coach the situation with Bayern may change. Chelsea are rather miffed with him after making what they consider was a very good offer, and will sell in the summer if a new contract is not agreed. There is interest from Manchester United (who are in discussions with Chelsea and have already reached agreement with the player's agent) andLiverpool (who have been forced to declare an interest in Mount), probably as an alternative to Bellingham, but they would likely not want to match his wage demands. However, change of agent leads potentially to the door of Manchester United or even Arsenal. }j

So Barcelona to dear juve to dear city psg Munich not interested
Liverpool because they missed out on Bellingham who is miles better than mount
Utd who always pay over the odds.

Or people hope to get a bargain however once they know the price, most if not the majority will pull away from any deal.

He will stay or leave for a fee that’s agreeable to all parties.

I thought it would be Utd but depending on outs at City and I can see them being involved. I guess the same could apply to Real Madrid.

Mount isn’t going to sign any deal with any club unless he his happy with the terms.

I wouldn't have thought of that tomb

If he signs for City or real il swim the Atlantic he'll be a bench warmer at most

Utd is probably his best bet he will improve them and they are silly enough to meet his wage demands

If he was that good Tom all those clubs would be bending over backwards to sign him
But they aren't when they here the cost which suggests a few other clubs us included don't think he is worth his valuation of himself

But good luck to him wherever he goes.

gola, I have clearly stated several times over the last few weeks I think Mount will join Utd. I have also said it again in my above post.

I have only surmised that clubs like City and Real might be interested depending if certain players leave their club.

I am more than happy to sponsor your swim across the Atlantic but as I want him to stay I think it’s unlikely.

Surmised or just read eds post

I shall put your sponsor across the front of my budgie smugglers

Cantankerous old sausage should just about fit.

I thought Mount just wanted parity with Chelsea's top earners, given he was your back to back player of the season I wouldn't think that was unreasonable personally.

gola, I have zero reason to doubt Ed’s post.

The transfer requirements of most clubs change through a window and a season. I can’t see this being any different.

Yes, I am cantankerous.

Shappy, Mount is a fantastic footballer and if you sign you will have got yourself a great player who will improve your team.

I think originally parity was all he was after, which is a very reasonable request seeing as what we were paying others like Havertz and Werner and now Sterling, who don’t perform at anywhere near his level. But like all us Chelsea fans, have become disconnected from the club and all the changes for the worst that have been going on over the last year or so, so I reckon this doesn’t feel like his club anymore and that the wages aren’t the main issue at this stage.

I’d love him to stay more than any other player on our books right now but moving on for him personally seems the best option.

Snappy, for some fans paying Mount anything a “squad” player’s salary would be to much.

If I’m honest I have a similar biased view about certain players!

Nick, brilliant summary mate and I’m sure the vast majority of fans agree with you.
