Interesting stuff on Jorginho, as most might know, like Standard and Turvey I find it hard to see what’s so great about our new number 5.

Let’s get things clear, I’m in no way saying he should be sold or saying he should be thrown to the bench all I’m saying is I don’t see why he cost so much, and why a lot of people think he is so effective to the way Sarri wants us to play. He does absolutely nothing that any other player that plays his role in other teams doesn’t do, more so when you look at teams that play possession football, Busquets is a good tackler and then distributes the ball quickly to players that make things happen. Busquets has as many passes as Jorginho but those who are interested in stats I beg you to share how many of his passes are positive passes. He sets the tempo to games, controls the midfield, and the game mind you he is not the quickest but he reads a game so well. How many abilities is that for one player but all you guys say for Jorginho is that he passes the ball and good under pressure ( Which is still debatable as we saw against spurs in the league) .

I’m not even going to judge him by goals cause that’s not his game but how are people going to call Kova out on his goal return when that’s not his game either, Kovacic is easily a better player than him and in my opinion would be better suited to playing Jorginhos role with Kanye and RLC in the cmf roles. I rarely have dogs at our players especially new signings but like Ed001 I don’t think Jorginho is what we needed, he was more suited to the slow tempo of the Italian league than here in England. His reading of the game in front of him is poor, his weight on passes on forward runs is poor. To be honest he has improved with his tackling and he might be adapting to the football in England but for me against teams that sit back especially at the bridge I think he hasn’t shown enough to warrant a spot in midfield.

Ps. I’m not trying to sound like a broken record would like to see what others think.

ELI I think we should all agree to disagree on Jorginho and move on. We have had so many posts about him recently, the posts about him have all been good, some constructive and others less so. I've enjoyed reading different views on him from fellow Chelsea fans even though I disagree with the criticism of the player but that's my opinion. That doesn't mean I'm right and the critics are wrong. But we have had one too many debates about him.

Nevertheseless it was good to read everyones opinion about him as its kept this place very active which is good but let's be honest our opinions don't matter. The fact of the matter is that Sarri sees him as an integral component to his team and I will support the manager 100% as want him to succeed. Jorginho was fantastic at Napoli and will be the same at Chelsea.

I've been impressed with Chelsea this year and with a few new additions I am positive we will be back competing for the title soon. Hopefully we can sign a striker in January and things will start looking nice again.

Fair enough Shak. Good banter. How do you see the game against Newcastle playing out?!

Agreed ELI, I also think we should cut the Jorginho debate and bring it up again later on in the season. I hope to be eating my hat about him by then!

It's a must win game for us ELI, I don't want to think about any other outcome other than a win lol. However, these days we are struggling to break down defensive units and it will be more of the same with Rafa in charge. I just hope our strikers score to take some of the pressure off Hazard who is marked so heavily in games. But I think it will be the false 9 tactics again which I'm not a massive fan of because Hazard is more dangerous on the left.

Everytime we seem to build a 5 point lead from Arsenal, the very next game we drop points which is a shame. We should have consolidated 4th positiin by now.

What are your thoughts mate?

Eli we have to win, and that's the only outcome I can see. I do really hope that we play with the striker though and allow hazard CHO play on the wings as newcastle will sit deep in their defense.

Also i thought that we can try to play willian in 3rd midfield position, guy can definatelly shoot, has the work ethic and used to be not a bad passer couple of seasons ago.

LRD, I’ve been saying that for years. Similar to di Maria at real, he can drive and has exceptional work rate. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened sooner for us.

Same Shak, I see it being a tight game but think we’ll squeeze all 3 points. Hope Hazard and CHO play with Giroud as a focal point, plus CHO does whip in some brilliant crosses.

I’d like to see Emerson play, think this would be a perfect game to play him think he could also be effective offensively. 3 points is a must as two of our rivals in spurs and united play so we need to capitalize.
