Does anyone else get the feeling Chelsea aren't quite done yet? Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Chelsea have one player over the limit for the HG quota. If talks about MVG going to Milan on loan then I think we'd be a bit lighter in and around that CM/DM position. I just have a strange feeling that Abramovic has one last trick up his sleeve and will get Pogba. he's homegrown (I believe) so it would make sense, he'd reset the English transfer record and we all know how RA likes to be number one at everything and we also know he loves a deadline day signing. Just a hunch but would be a crazy signing.
Any how, Chelsea have already done some magnificent business so far. Costa looks godly doesn't he

1.) Dont want to rain on your parade but Pogba won't be coming to Chelsea on deadline day.

I believe Remy, at this moment in time, is a perfect signing. he's had 2 good seasons in the bpl for 2 distinctly average teams. he's quick, tall, athletic, good with the ball at feet and on the shoulder of the defenders and most importantly: HE KNOWS WHERE THE GOAL IS. And for 8.5mil I don't think there is a better forward around for that kind of money. I think if Didi leaves next year, then we can see how Destro has progressed and make a move for him. Imagine that forward line:
Costa
Remy
Destro
That would be terrifying.
So for now, Remy would be an amazing piece of business and next year, depending on form, move in for Destro.
Should be an interesting few days

1.) I'd just caution that Demba Ba looked great at Newcastle too, but he was never really a perfect fit for us.

Being constantly on the shoulder to run in behind is all well and good, but the teams we struggled with last year were rarely pushed up that far against us.

Plus I'm really hoping that Bamford is at least tried as number 3 next year, as long as he has a good loan, and assuming Didi retires.

I tlreally don't know why you all are so negative about demba ba. He was good player and performed well every time he had a chance last year.

Demba ba was not good enough plain and simple .

Ed do Chelsea have any interest in Gundagon? I feel he'd be an ideal signing to replace Mikel (if he should leave) and will cost significantly less than what has been quoted for Pogba and Carvalho. Plus he's still quite young

I'd doubt it very much. He's been out for the best part of a year with a serious injury and you never know how a player will recover. He has also put on a lot of weight.

2.) I hope we've learned never to buy a player who's returning from injury: see Shevchenko; see Torres!

Goals win games and thankfully we have 2 of the best finishers in the prem who won us the game today. Iva and Azpi were magnificent, Oscar was very good, Hazard was his usual brilliant self but I think all the credit today has to go Courtois. If that goes in at 0-0 it could've been a much different story. They would've made more defensive subs and dropped even deeper so that was the match defining moment. Fully justifies JMs selection in my opinion. But 6 points out of 6 so far. Some would say a perfect start :)

So pre season is done and tonight I thought we looked stronger than any other game so far. Can't wait for Monday now. Burnley will be one of the most perfect starts for us to have. It'll give the team a chance to prove that they have matured a lot more and can break down and finish off the 'smaller' clubs, which ultimately cost us the title last season. And with Costa looking to be the best acquisition of the summer by any club so far, things can only get better.
On a side note, has anyone else been impressed in the last 2 games with Oscar and Willian? They look very fresh and hungry. Running at defenders and committing them a lot more which is what they are best at doing, just sometimes don't do it enough

T97Chelski

1.) Can't wait for Monday too, great opportunity to get some goals and hopefully Costa on the scoresheet early on in the league.

I've thought Oscar's looked great, almost to the level he was at the start of last season, making good passes, being direct, he's been good, and hopefully he can continue that throughout the season. I was impressed by Willian last night too, the previous game I mentioned how he sometimes took too long on the ball, but last night it was as if he had read mine (and other fans') comments and upped his game, I thought the whole team looked great last night.

Oscar looked great? Really?
I think when fabregas played in that role we looked a lot better with ramires and matic sitting.

I've only seen clips of him and everyone can be made to look good on YT. But he seems like a pretty sound player. he's quick, good on and off the ball, has great dribbling skills with the ball at feet, he's composed, good at snap decisions, tall and is a threat in the air defensively and offensively. If this is JTs last year, then this guy would be a perfect replacement to accompany Cahill at CB until Zouma is 100% ready. Of course another stat that proves how good he is is the fact that Roma (I believe) had the best defensive record in Serie A last season. My only concern with him is the price. If he was perhaps 20mil instead of 30, he would be a great buy

Mark my words:
Oscar will be out of this world this season. He has all the credentials, all he has to do is add the consistency to his game and I think Cesc's knowledge and playstyle will rub off on Oscar and he'll be a massive positive influence on the kid

Probably chn. JM dropped Cole last year to play Azpi at LB. Dave is younger, quicker and has the makings of the best full back in the prem. I can see Iva been used as a backup CB along with Zouma or being able to provide full back cover if Luis or Azpi get injured/suspended
