Maybe wrong but the papers are full of "the board discussing Jose's future" and I am sure as one would expect at such a meeting his name came up BUT two years in situ, two rewarding years, a four contract in August and suddenly he's in the wrong and could go, it just does not make sense unless there is an issue the public are not privy to. I would be more inclined to suggest that the conversation centred around what is needed in January to get some stability into the team, who is earmarked for end of season removal but most of all the probable sale of Eden Hazard. I know we don't like to hear it but look at his performances and there is a distinct lack of enthusiasm, Monday he appeared to make the decision he did not want to continue himself, he wants to play in the middle and I for one do not think he has looked match sharp at all. Whether it is all those things or something else but there definitely is an issue between the player and manager and in those circumstances the latter should win.

Hi, first time posting, if your boss tells you to do a job one way and you don't do it, you get sacked not your boss . Jose should be given time, transfers should be the managers call and targets he wants not what some one else at the club wants. Give me players with hunger rather than so call super stars, sell hazard, Costa any any other player that has bad atituide towards Jose. Remember last year away to city, jose was a master class and players done what he asked .

It would be so disappointing if Jose Mourinho was to be sacked. I hope the board don't make this mistake, it will be one to regret. JM has won us 3 titles, his record speaks for itself.

One bad season don't make you a bad manager.

Hold fire till January, sign a few players in January, avoid relegation and hopefully by February kick on in champions league.

I honestly hope I'm just getting carried away, but I'm not sure what I hope to see from the team at this point. I obviously hoped we could defend the title at the start of the season, before the bournemouth game I thought we might pull out top 4, but now I think I'd settle for avoiding relegation and knocking out PSG, followed by a complete overhaul of the roster - get rid of the underperforming senior players and buy some real quality to forge a new team. Something seems rotten but it seems like no one can really pinpoint it. What are your expectations?

I think they should give the youth a chance, they would show hunger and desire to win matches.

I'd really like to hear what the eds make of Chelsea's poor performance in the league - is it the players? Jose? the relationship between the two? Poor transfer dealings? An absurd run of bad luck? We've all seen various teams' form fluctuate but I really can't make sense of how terribly our season has gone.

{Ed001's Note - personal opinion is that it is mainly down to the players underperforming but that is partly down to Jose and the relationship with the players. In some part that is down to poor transfer dealings, which upset the confidence of the squad, but a lot is down to the falling out with the medical staff. That just pushed things a little too far and it has caused a major effect on form, especially as there is clearly a rift between Jose and Eden Hazard. From what I can gather, the issues with the medical staff were more down to a feeling they were mollycoddling Hazard, who just needed to man up a bit.}

10000% agree on Hazard being mollycoddled. He is a wimp. Look at the amount of times Messi/Ronaldo gets hit game after game and they get up and get on with it. You could tell after 10 mins that Eden wasn't up for it on Monday. Do you think he's struggling mentally Ed? I say this because JM said he could be the best player in the world, but Eden already said himself he couldn't get up to those levels. I mean. Come on. You smashed the league last season and this season all he seems to do is doubt himself. He can't run, tackle, dribble or pass this time. Would you sell him?

{Ed001's Note - I think he lacks the mental toughness to ever be as good as he could be. Personally I think the time to sell him was the summer, but the fans would have been up in arms if he had gone then.}

CFCAdam/Ed001: Good posts. I think a number of supporters felt the same and even more so during this season, Hazard is fine when all goes his way but mentally not tough enough when it is not. He admitted he hated pre-season training and for awhile early on he looked a little chunky and his form has been poor and there were a number who voiced the same as CFCAdam, he looked on Monday like a player that wanted off and given JM's comments about his injury, I think he thought the same. No player is bigger than the Club and we should let him go.

I have said for a while that Hazard clearly wants out.
Well let's sell him and anyone else who wants to go, I think we need to get rid of costa, Oscar, fabregas and remy none of whoms heart seems to be in it.
The trouble is although I am a big fan of jm, and we wouldn't be where we are today but for his arrival first time. I am concerned there seems to lack of a plan b. I think he may end up going, and the people to blame are the above mentioned. Although not player power, it is player inactivity ie failing to perform that could ultimately cost him his job.
Which is a disgrace and you hope it comes back on those players.

Totally agree. Jose's after match 'chat's have always bothered me but here is a man who was third in his first season back, won the title in his second and now he's not the right man for the job! Bizarre as I would put the onus on the players until such time you reach the "we need a new face" stage. He made it clear with talk about Griezmann and Pogba that he wanted to strengthen his Championship winning team and look what we ended up with. I had hoped RA's fickle nature had gone.
