Being reported that CG will be named in the senior England squad tomorrow.

If true, congratulations young man.

Confirmed! Great news! Let's hope we can work his way into our team next year.

Congratulations to him.
He is a brilliant player. I hope he can get to his highest level with us.

I would like to see a midfield 2 of young Billy and Connor going forward.

G8, seriously, they may both develop into top class players but at present our if both played in the absence of Kante our midfield would be overrun: who is going to break up play in the middle of the park.

If they are both good enough they will be in the first team.

If they both get in the first team I will be very happy and so will all us fans because they will be good enough.

I hope that makes sense!

Jimbo, I really do think they could play together as a 2.going forward as I said. CG has amazing energy a bit like Kante so who is to say how he will develop, he is old school box to box and has goals in him as well. BG has it all, again, as I said, going forward. he might not be at the level of Jorgi just yet but down the line, all things considered, a year or 2 maybe. I really do think a partnership of young Billy and Connor might, and with academy players, might is always the word, rival our current best pairing of Kante and Jorgi.

I understand what you’re saying Tom. But I worry about the expectations and hype that surrounds young players, not just at this club. I just think that we should be grateful for the midfield trio of Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic while it lasts.

Jimbo, I think we ALL totally appreciate what we have in Kante (best midfielder in the world), Jorgi (most underated player at Chelsea) and Kova. BUT I'm looking to the future and really would like young Billy and Connor to come through as our future midfield 2.Will they? who knows? but I think they have a chance.

G8, fair enough let’s hope for the best for all our young players, I’m not putting them down. I am just putting out a note of caution. The transition from talented young player to top class performer is fraught with with pitfalls. We have all witnessed young players at this club and elsewhere fall by the wayside for various reasons.

They have a great chance if things go according to plan G8.
A midfield trio of Mount, Billy and Conor would be a joy to see.

Would be nice if BG and DG prove themselves to be good enough. Save the club a lot of money.

Ashk, I just don’t see that trio in midfield strong enough to compete at the highest level.

Maybe Jimbo, and maybe not.

Ashk, true. Don’t like 12:30 Saturday starts. We have a run of difficult games ahead : hopefully Lukaku will be fit and start banging them in. As I said previously we should know where we are in terms of PL in the next month.

I would like Declan Rice to be signed next summer. Say £80m. Finance it by selling ballon D’or candidate Jorginho for £60m (I’m sure they’ll be queuing up across Europe. )

Stephen leaving aside your desire to get rid of Jorginho, you are likely to be disappointed. West Ham don’t need to sell DR, they are a well run club and have just had a large injection of cash from a Czech Billionaire - they don’t need the money!

{Ed002's Note - West Ham has not had a cash injection.}

Ed, perhaps used the wrong phrase but the the share purchase makes WHU more financially stable and I still say they will not need to sell their star player in the near future.

{Ed002's Note - No, the owners each sold some of their shares to a third party - that is all it is.}

Most regular posters will remember my long running defence of Jorginho. I think he has the ability to dictate certain games but as I’ve said on numerous occasions he does lack pace and his lack of pace is one of the reasons (along with Rudiger) we play with three at the back.

Anyway I have this feeling he will be leaving this summer. I have zero information, it’s just a gut feel.

I think we will miss him when he leaves.

Tom I agree I think Rudiger will leave it’s his last big contract so he will do what’s best for himself- fair enough. Also a bit concerned about Christensen: no deal yet.

I think Christensen will sign in the next week or so.

He just seems to be getting better and better. No way will he be leaving.

I think Christiansen will sign and I think Rudiger will leave. I really believe CG is ready to be a first XI Chelsea player. I am not so sure around BG. I think he may well need another season somewhere. With regard to the current midfield trio, I believe that Chelsea will do well to win another big tournament with these three guys. Anyone who follows this forum will know my Jorginho hang ups. What I would say is that the TT system suits the boy perfectly. Jorginho has played as well as I have ever seen him for Chelsea this season. He did have a very good CL tournament last year, not brilliant but very good. Imo that area of the pitch need to be addressed at the summer.
