Unless rice's price is over 75 million we should get the deal done. Over 8 years the transfer fee would be very small per season. No brainer for me, quality quality player and would improve upon our spine of Reece James, chillwell and mount.

I doubt the Happy Hammers would sell for less than 100 million; I think he’ll have to start to run his contract down if he wants to move.

I’m not sure if Rice will ever come to Chelsea; he’s still got a lot of time for on his contract and priorities change as do managers at Chelsea. I have the feeling that the people who matter at the club are not convinced about him especially at the price West Ham are asking. He is still young maybe he can join on a free in a few years time.

My guess is we have never made an offer for Rice knowing full well the price the happy hammers want is a fee we are not willing to pay.

Yes straousburg, we had an English spine of cole Terry and Lampard and it would be nice to replicate it as we are an English club.
