Looking back at yesterday's performance yes it is very frustrating drawing away at West Brom and conceding 3 goals but I do see positives and find it a tad Harsh to blame Lampard.

Firstly you can set a team up anyway you like but if you make the basic errors that Alonso and Silva made you will conceed goals. Those 2 goals were not down to personnel or set up just bad mistakes. Which I'm hoping will go away when Chilwell comes in and Silva I'm certain will sharpen up a bit. The only thing that does concern me is corners, every time the opposition gets a corner my heart is in my mouth. I would like to us stop using zonal marking and hopefully Mendy will help by being more dominant in his area.

Looking at the positives we showed great fight and good team spirit to get back into the game which I think we will carry into the next game and build momentum. I believe Havertz is now showing us why we broke our transfer record on him and Odoi looked like the player he was when he first broke on the scene and gave us much needed width. I would also like to throw a shout out to Mason Mount as he is a player I never really rated but game on game he seems to get better and better for me and his work rate is second to none! Another day we could have won that game 6-3 had we taken our chances. We are still a team with a lot of new talent finding our feet but when it clicks which it will soon we are going to be dangerous.

Up the chels!

I agree with your points whitey97, you can play any formation you like but if player's make individual errors like yesterday then it goes out of the window.

I know he scored yesterday but was disappointed with Abraham, felt he deserved a chance after the Barnsley game bit didn't take it.

Couldn’t agree more mate, there are definitely positives to take out of this game fore sure. Nothing you can do a bit silly mistakes.

Nice post whitey.

Individual mistakes are difficult to legislate for. Alonso and Silva mistakes fall into that bracket but the goal conceded from the set piece was a concern.

Our players were static, Alonso lost his man and James was asleep. That goal was something I hopes we had worked on since last season.

Listening to Frank's immediate post-match interview, it was good to see that he was as angry as most of us. From his comments, I don't think Alonso will be around much longer.
