Loads of pundits making it sound as if we only have to turn up tonight for a comfortable win.

I personally don't see it that way.

1) London derbies are never easy.
2) Playing the happy hammers under lights is never easy.
3) They will demanding a reaction from the players after getting thumped in there first game.
4) Potter in my opinion will set his team up not to concede and with a back three.
5) We didn't play well against Palace. We moved the ball slowly and never forced there defence onto the turn.

Obviously I will be gutted if we don't get three points but I just can't see it being an easy game. God I hope I'm wrong "again. "

Agree with your assessment Tom, last week showed us what London derbies can throw up. What's worse is that my wife is a Hammers supporter.

Tom you may be right but if we can't get three points from tonight's game it will have been a pretty dismal start to our season. I have to be optimisitc about this one though obviously upsets always possible and we looked very poor against Palace for all but first and ;ast ten mins or so. If we do slip up then I goresee another battle to make top 4 despite all our additional comings and goings. I do worry that likes of Palmer and Enzo F and plus a couple of others may still be feeling effects of CWC exertions. But would hope that both will realise they had very ordinary to poor perfrances v Palace and will be much sharper tonight. Let's also see if Maresca has learnt anything for the Palace game in terms of not leaving substitution too late and having set us up and prepared us tactically for our opponents. which he didn't do well v Palace but did do brilliantly v PSG,

But I take your points about reasons to be a bit cautious and would add to them the fact that we've yet agaon had so many changes in personnel plus injuries to key players in LC and (endlessly? ) Lavia and Fofana though WF may nbe given some minutes off the bench perhaps.

agreed london derby all of that.
only issue is the happy hammers are dreadful and you're usually wrong. we should be looking to jump start our season and smash the sorry lot.

I don’t buy into this London derby nonsense. West Ham are very poor; they will be flirting around the relegation spots. If we don’t win convincingly I will be very disappointed.
