With George now apparently wanting to leave it just shows how fickle a fan I can be.
I want George to stay but I also wanted us to sign Gittens and Simmons.
If it's true that he does want to leave I can understand his reasoning. Good luck to the lad whatever happens. He is a player I rate and I'm sure he will have a good footballing career.

Tom
As much as it's nice to bring names into the club, I'm totally fed up with us basically pushing our youngsters out of the door. I suppose it's more PSR money.

Bill, as I say. I hate to see talented players like George leave the club.
I suppose some could say it’s a consequence of PSR but the club is not being forced
Into making these signings. I would like to thinks the decision is based on ability.
On another tak and on the subject of PSR. I have repeatedly mentioned my dislike of PSR in its current format. For me, it’s borderline “not fit for purpose. ”.

Haven't seen enough of George to know how good he is, if he wants to go let him but have a sell on clause or first buy back option.
But with our recent signings can see that game time will be limited for him.
PSR isn't fit for purpose what other industry actively wants to stop money coming in.

Selling George has nothing to do with PSR, we have plenty of headroom in that regard. Under the EUFA sanctions we have to balance our transfer business: so if will sell players that you would prefer to keep that is the reason; let’s hope the players we have signed are upgrades.

As I’ve said it appears to be “his” decision. So therefore not driven by PSR or UEFA sanctions.
The club has a history of not keeping players who want to leave. I generally think that is a good approach.

That is not correct at all Jimbo, please have a look back at one of my previous posts and you will better understand how the UEFA issue is calculated. George would of been on list B and any sale would have no bearing on this seasons list A. I'm happy to explain it all again if you wish? Bill, we could play academy players like George and probably finish mid table or we can take a view to challenge at the top table. George and Estevao Willian are a similiar profile and age, which one would you prefer?

RPD, the point I was making was that selling George had nothing to do with PSR as a I said we have no problem with . From my previous posts you will have noted that Estavou is the player I am most excited to see next season. I was simply pointing out that he club must balance our transfer business and if we keep signing players that we don’t really need instead of filling weaknesses we will need to address it by selling players. Also, if as stated George wants to leave that’s fine, he must make his own judgement about his future development.

Tom, why then did you link George going with PSR? . I don’t think any clubs have a history of keeping players who want to leave .

There has been loads of clubs that have kept players that wanted to leave.
Tomb was making the point that Ed used to make all the time that chelsea never stand in the way of a player that wants to leave
God I thought you was always right ?.

Jimbo, I think you will find I was replying to a statement from Bill.
I even made a point of saying “some” could say it’s consequence of PSR and “I would like to think it’s a decision based on ability. ”.

Guys the comment on PSR is relevant as any money we make on him will go towards PSR regardless if we don't need to sell him.
My main point was that we are bringing in young players from abroad. Some will make it, others won't. Why don't we just give some of our talented payers a proper rin out in games and like the foreign players, some will make it but others will fall by the wayside.
RPD, I'm not saying flood our first team with academy players just for goodness sake try and keep hold of the few that show real promise.

Bill, of course all money spent and received on transfers goes against PSR and that’s a perfectly reasonable comment.
The point I was making was about it not be the “driving” force of this sale. It would appear that this decision comes from the player.

Cfc, I wasn’t suggesting that Chelsea will keep players who want to leave, the point I was making was that that is standard in football and not unique to Chelsea. I am unaware of the loads of clubs who keep players who want to leave.

I’m not a fan of players virtually forcing a move from the club they quite willing signed a contract for!
There is nothing to stop a player making a habit of it. Buyer beware!
