Is cordoza from benfica a target? {Ed002's Note - He must be about 30 now - no.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Oh dear... Of all the people to ask about

Agree0 Disagree0

Was a quality player years ago but he's missed his chance to move to a bigger club cause of his age

Any interest in Younes Belhanda?

Wild {Ed002's Note - There is confirmed interest in Belhanda from Malaga, Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal and PSG and there is unconfirmed interest from Roma. The player says he wishes a move to Italy or Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Italy Germany is not possible (seems he is not really sure where he wants to move to). A price of 30M euros has been quoted by Montpellier who really do not want to sell.}

Reported on caught offside Mathieu Debuchy on his way to Chelsea and Newcastle interested in Paulo Ferreira! Any truth to this Ed?

JIM {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Ferreira and Debuchy is certainly not first choice for Chelsea. So it seems a little off the mark.}

ED what clubs are interested in Asamoah of Udinese reports say a move to Juve has stalled? {Ed002's Note - I still suspect that Asamoah will move to Juventus with Pazienza staying at Udinese as part of the deal. There has been talk that Juventus are offering part ownership of Marrone and will pass on their part ownership of Immobile as part of the deal. Milan, Arsenal, Napoli, PSG, Manchester City, Nice, PSG and Manchester United are known to have enquired after the player as well.}

Hey Ed,
Can you tell me if Chelsea maintain an interest in Andre Schurrle and if so how much money would Bayer Leverkusen be willing to accept
Many Thanks {Ed002's Note - There is residule interest lingering from last year. The money is not a matter for discussion.}

Yo eddy, im gonna be specific about this. When do first team players who have had the last month off since the international friendlies off return. The ones with no injuries(not that we have any). {Ed002's Note - Next week.}

Hey ed will de bruyne go on loan to a premier league club or back to geek ? And also could you tell us if there is any interest in gaitan or seamus Coleman ?. {Ed002's Note - When I last checked enquiries had been made by Atletico Madrid, Hoffenheim, Sporting Lisbon, Lille, Benfica, Southampton, Wolfsburg, Hamburg, FC Twente and Fiorentina have enquired after taking Kevin de Bruyne on loan. He will officially join next Wednesday and will go on the pre-season tour but a loan seems most likely.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Would like to see him join someone like Southampton, regular first team football in the prem. Perfect

Hopefully Josh can get the same sort of thing

Rich

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like him to stay until January to see if he can fit somewhere in our first team just yet, but if he doesn't play much then I'd like to loan him out for the second half of the season. Just my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2012 17:02:45
Ed, is Oriol Romeu likely to be kept in the first team squad next season or loaned out? Many thanks - James13 {Ed002's Note - No decision has been taken with most of the loans just yet. There will be loans and sales once the summer window comes along.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think Romeu will be Mikel's backup as our holding mid. Will definitely get a fair bit of game time

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Mandukzic from Wolfsburg going to BAYERN ed? {Ed002's Note - He has options available and Juventus and Bayern are likely the two most attractive right now.}

I would like to know the opinions of other Chelsea fans but I really dislike the idea of Schurlle coming to Chelsea. Not because he's a bad player but because I think that if Chelsea are to get another winger they need to be of a higher standard.
MB

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Schurrle is a striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Schurlle is only 21! And if he gets in the german national team for the quaters then he's good enuff for me! I fort he looked very lively! Remember Marin could'nt even get in the german squad!
DJCHELSEA4EVA

Agree0 Disagree0

Marin has been injured most of the season?

u could say that bent didnt get in england squad and carrol did?

Agree0 Disagree0

Schurlle played as a winger in the quarters for Germany!!
DJCHELSEA4EVA

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd hope that people are basing their judgements on players over the course of a season rather than an International tournament. Marin has had a few injuries and was also played out of position; Schurrle is a good prospect and has been pretty consistent domestically for Leverkusen. He wasn't quite so impressive in the CL campaign though. Let's remember that they are both young players and can still develop given the right training, guidance and opportunities.

Agree0 Disagree0

Most?? Did he play any part of the season? If not then why the hell did we buy him? You could also say that Struddige didnt get in but Carrol did! Was Struddige injured?? I think not!
DJCHELSEA4EVA

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but hes a striker DJ

jordi alba plays left back alot hes still a left midfielder

roberto carlos played left back for madrid and brazil but he was still a centre mid

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't that impressed with schurlie
Reus on the other wing was much better looks like arsenal interested in him
Drebs

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't that impressed with schurlie
Reus on the other wing was much better looks like arsenal interested in him
Drebs {Ed002's Note - Reus has already agreed a move this summer.}

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a striker! BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a frw/wing the same as hulk
Drebs

Agree0 Disagree0

Schurlle is a left winger but can play as a striker and I watched him play a lot last year in the german league and he is very versatile in being able to play on both wings and up front on his own, and he's only 21 to and in the German national team so he seems like a very good buy in my books.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that Reus was so much better than Schurlle. We already have Marin, Hazard, Malouda, De Bruyne, Mata, sturridge in the wide areas. We can't afford to have another player who needs to be nurtured. We need one more winger who can come straight into the first eleven and make an immediate impact. I also think Schurlle looked really greedy for Germany.

Agree0 Disagree0

That last comment about Schurlle being greedy for Germany is shocking.
A young lad who was given his chance to shine in a quarter final! of course he's going to try something special to force a selection issue for potentially a European championship win, shows balls for me. He rinsed some defenders and had some good efforts on goal. Much can be made about his position but he strikes me as the type of player who will play wherever no fuss. Very similar player to Daniel Sturridge except for that last point I made. If we can get him for a reasonable price I'd be very excited to have him at Chelsea

Rich

Agree0 Disagree0

The term 'winger' really shouldn't be used so much. There really aren't that many out and out wide men any more, plus the tactical system that Germany use can't be described as having wingers.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Getting too many players in similar position not only wastes money but can cause unrest in the squad!

Agree0 Disagree0

You just stated he was v similar to Sturridge so why do u want him if we have Sturridge already + Mata and Hazard...?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he's incredibly similar to sturridge. Always cutting in, love a shot, can operate up front and on the wings. I'd go for someone else who adds something different to the squad or even better keep lukaku as the backup striker.

Tk

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with u TK

Agree0 Disagree0

From what I've seen of Lukaku he is nowhere near ready to be a back up to Torres.

I'm sorry but if we are looking to win the EPL and CL next season we need more strength in depth.

Say for example Torres was out injured for 6 weeks. Would you want to rely on Lukaku? No offence to him, but I wouldn't.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Torres is injured for 6 weeks, Id start Sturridge in that position not Lukaku.

If we are going to buy a dedicated backup for Torres, he needs to be a dedicated striker - which Schurle isnt really. Young - yes, good prospect - yes - what we need - No.

Agree0 Disagree0

Schurlle is equally capable as a striker and a left winger, but we don't need another left-sided player as we have Marin, Mata and Hazard!

Hi Ed002! Do you know if we are intrested in signing a defensive midfielder? If so, you got any names for me? DJCHELSEA4EVA {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware at this time.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

We have Mikel, Romeu and Essien. No need for another

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2012 14:29:44
ed do can you tell me what positions chelsea are still looking fill before the start of the season {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are looking at a number of players which in most cases are discussed on here. The focus right now is on a striker and a right back.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Thanks for clearing that up ed so i asume hulk is one of the options they would play in a striker role {Ed002's Note - This is why it is best to think of players rather than positions. There is interest in Hulk as I have explained repeatedly. He offers versatility.}

Any knew news ED to report any new potential transfer targets? {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

25 Jun 2012 13:15:48
Ed are Chelsea looking to move on Malouda? {Ed002's Note - Malouda may well leave this summer.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

25 Jun 2012 13:37:26
Ed,I know we are still in the early period of the summer and the transfer window hasn't even opened yet, but do you think that a right back will be acquired and that it is more likely to be Apzilicueta?

PR! {Ed002's Note - There will be a right back and Azpilicueta remains a target.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

When you sign james 13 ...is that your actual age ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry what? I'm PR! not James13...

PR!

Agree0 Disagree0

Soz , next post should have been

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm 25 and my shirt number as a footballer has always been 13. Hence James13.

Agree0 Disagree0

Soz james ,thought you had a day of school,the questions you are asking ed ."schoolboy errors".see where im coming from mate ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Does any1 know how much Azpilicueta will cost? Wud ask ed002 bt i know she does'nt like to talk about figures!
I wud rather we go fot Walker! {Ed002's Note - The money is irrelevant. The reason for not discussing figures is that generally football fans don't understand the amounts involved. It is not simply a transfer fee, but agent fees, VAT on agent fees, VAT on transfer fees, ongoing wages, insurance ....}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok ed002! cheers for that! Bt could you tell me weather YOU would choose Azpilicueta over Walker? I ask cos ive not seen this Azpilicueta play before. Cheers Love! DJCHELSEA4EVA {Ed002's Note - I don't see that Walker is an option.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think most of the questions I have asked are valid questions so no I don't understand where you are coming from - thanks - James13 {Ed002's Note - I really don't have the time to respond to questions all day though James - it is not the pupose of the site.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry. I thought you could ask as many as you wanted. I will make sure I don't ask as many in the future. I was just pleasantly surprised by the resourcefulness of the site and went on a bit of crazy questions asking spree. Thanks again - James13 {Ed002's Note - No problem James, but that is not really why I am here.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done james you took that very maturely...others sometimes go into a rant ..no names mentioned!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed you underestimate some of our knowledge on transfer fees. You know I play football manager ;)

Rich

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do you think it likely that we will get either our 1st or 2nd choice right back? {Ed002's Note - I don't know.}

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2012 13:04:07
Ed how likely do you think it is that Chelsea will sign Luca Moura and if they did which position do you think he would play in? Many thanks - James13. {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in formations James. Sorry. Try the search function for lots of fun discussion about Moura.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

25 Jun 2012 11:35:19
Ed how good do you think Hamsik is? Do you think he could cut it in the premier league and is worth £30m + ?. Thanks - James13 {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in trying to rank the "goodness" of players James and I would much rather avoid discussing money. If Hamsik were to move then Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG and AC Milan would be the likely choices but I doubt it given a new deal has been signed at Napoli.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Hamsik is the jewel in the current Napoli team. In my opinion he would easily shift to the EPL.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's more of a Lampard-like midfielder, no? Doesn't seem he racks up the assists but he makes late runs into the box and converts rebounds into goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is one of my favorite players.
I have said for the last year, that I would love to see him at chelsea. Think he would be perfect for the premiership.
Luke

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps we should wait a year or so and sign him as a replacement for Lampard?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2012 07:37:00
Hey ED, have chelsea ever had any interest in Santi Cazorla? He is a wonderful player..Are any other clubs being linked with him?

Always Blue {Ed002's Note - He only moved last year - he will not be for sale.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

24 Jun 2012 23:55:07
Hey Ed, is RM still wanting to sell Higuain? and would we be interested? {Ed002's Note - Not under the terms or at the price previously offered. PSG is a far mor likely destination.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

24 Jun 2012 23:44:24
Ed, the other day I posted asking about central players and the seeming lack of activity there - you responded that it would be alright. Any chance you could expand on that? Also, do you have any information on what the plan is with Josh McEachran? Assessed in the US before a decision, or loan/retained already decided? {Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to any lengthy discussions about what constitutes a central midfield player again. There is no decision on McEachran yet but a loan is certainly very likely.}
