What wingers are we interested in ed? {Ed018's Note - there was interest in Turan, and there is interest in Di Maria}

I hope we get Di Maria, class act {Ed002's Note - As we stand at present, an equiry was made by Chelsea in Los Angeles last Saturday. Chelsea were told he is not available be have been assured they will be informed if anything changes.}

It all really depends on Neymar right? If they cannot get Neymar right now they most definitely won't be willing to part with Di Maria? {Ed018's Note - that could be the case}

ed if we sign pastore does that end our interest in modric i really hope so {Ed018's Note - i would think it would, especially with the amount of money it will take to get modric}

I don't no how Spurs can rate him so highly, not long ago Modric was a bench player and couldnt break into the first team. Keep him Spurs I'd rather have Nasri

Hi Ed. What is the situation with Sturridge, how willing are we to sell him? I guess it will depend on who we end up signing. As far as i know liverpool might be interested, have we received any bid? (not necessarily from liverpool) Thank you {Ed018's Note - im unaware of chelsea recieving any bids for sturridge, i'd really like to see him get an oppurtunity at chelsea this season though}

As would I, i think his preseason games shows that he looks way more for his teammates than he did before he went to Bolton, I think he could be top draw

Hey Ed, is it true that real madrid, man city and psg are intrested in pastore too? Thanks {Ed002's Note - There are other clubs interested, cerainly Manchester City but I am certain that Pastore is not keen on a move there. PSG have declared an interest recently. Barcelona and Real MAdrid are less likely to be able to move for Pastore. Roma and the Milan clubs cannot afford hard cash right now. One of the other bids was from Malaga but I don't see them as much of an option.}

To be honest I would be worried if there weren't other clubs interested. This shows he is a top quality player.

Thanks Ed, now that we are, according from micciche "very likely" to sign him, does that rule out any move for modric? {Ed002's Note - For the umpteenth time - I know nothing about any bid for Modric so really cannot say. I also do not think Pastore is nailed oin just yet.}

ed are we or are we not in advanced talks with javier pastore and if so if he signs will we turn our attention away to perhaps the wings? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what you mean about "advanced talks" and the discussions have not been with the player himself. There was, as I have said over and over again an offer made and put to his agent and the player to consider. There have been further discussions surrounding some logistical details that were asked about and these took place in Argentina recently. I am not sure if this is what you are referring to as "advanced talks" but they were really simple answers to a number of logistical questions that had been posed. There was no discussion with the player at that time. I also really don't know what you mean by "turn our attention to the wings". If you have a specific question then please feel free to ask it. But don't ask questions like "have we been linked to 'random player x' who scored a great goal yesterday" or "why have we not bought 'random player x' who is really nifty on fantasy manager 2011?" Questions like "turning our attention to the wings" is simply meaningless to me I am afraid.}

Do a deal KALOU + cash seems better as I could see Sturridge becoming a great player and returning to haunt us

It has been applied for the last five summers, with no luck. Do you know if club will try to get him in as an exceptional talent?

if the rumours are true that we are going to use Sturridge as part of a deal for Modric what sort of message does this send out to the other young englishmen at the club?? we need to keep Sturridge and forget Modric because Tottenham are ripping us off... {Ed002's Note - Don't belieive everything you read.}

Pastore has been mentioned as a replacement for Lampard on a number of occasions. I know Chelsea are currently discussing/looking for a replacement for Lampard, I don t expect any proactive approach into this will take place until January or maybe the following Summer. The possible (and I stress possible) arrival of Pastore would not be seen as a long term replacement for Lampard; neither would Modric have been.

From my point of view if the midfield is occupied by three central players and two wingers from the central three you need (a) a player like Lampard (ability to switch play, time runs into the oppositions box and get onto the final ball, often having started the move themselves in their own half), (b) a player like Essien or Ramires (defensive/box to box midfielder with either an engine to get up and down the pitch all day long or the discipline to sit in front of the back four) along with (c) a player like Pastore or Modric (full of skill and creative ability who can dictate play in and around the oppositions box).

Pastore would be the creative piece of the puzzle that Chelsea are missing in central midfield not a replacement fro Lampard, Hamsik would be the perfect long term replacement for Lampard; I wish there was a young English player with his abilities. Maybe McEachran will develop into this player.

I understand the jist of you post, but it seems to me that players are never really replacable, esspecially the best. Giggs/ Scholes at Man U, Gerrard at Pool, Lamps for us, these kinds of players are not run of the mill players, they each have there own style which makes them so good, you cant just replace them. I think when you look at Chelsea atm, you just have to hope that once Lampard has gone there are other players in the team to score the goals that he does, so a replacement is never a like for like, just bringing in new talent, and building up a new team around that.

im just wondering if you believe that chelsea should strongly consider signing hulk. ive seen him play in person...he is very very talented. {Ed018's Note - i think he'd be a good fit for chelsea, but there is no interest at this time in him}

I just dont see why not, drogba, im sad to say, is getting old. and with fernando and his lack of production i think hulk could provide a major spark to the team.
