ed018, If you've not already herd but in the last 2 hours it was reported that Nigel De jong's contract talks with City have broke donw. I consider him to be the onlly holding mid out there close to Essien. Would you say that Chelsea may be interested if he became available? {Ed002's Note - Ed018 is not around, but Chelsea will not be looking toward De Jong to replace Essien even in the off chance he became available. Manchester City would likely be looking for something in excess of £20M for the player. Chelsea did look at M'Vila earlier in the summer and Fernando remains a target.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't see why not, De jong is a class act in that position. Oh well, thanx anyway ed keep it up {Ed002's Note - It is simply that he is not a target and I expect that the way Chelsea will be playing this year might be different to that we have seen before with a pretty much straight 4-3-3 or diamond formation. If you get a chance to look through some of Porto's games from alst year it is quiet interesting to watch with lots of short fast movement, but with width as well. AVB is a strong charachter and will do what he things is right to get Chelsea playing in the same way. I suspect he is more concerned about working on the midfield than he is about the forwards. We will see over the coming weeks.}

What wingers are we interested in ed? {Ed018's Note - there was interest in Turan, and there is interest in Di Maria}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Ha like you could get either of them. red 19 {Ed018's Note - yea probably because they are both going to Liverpool, right}

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we get Di Maria, class act {Ed002's Note - As we stand at present, an equiry was made by Chelsea in Los Angeles last Saturday. Chelsea were told he is not available be have been assured they will be informed if anything changes.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It all really depends on Neymar right? If they cannot get Neymar right now they most definitely won't be willing to part with Di Maria? {Ed018's Note - that could be the case}

Eds , would you happen to know pastore's wages at palermo and what his wages could be at the bridge? {Ed002's Note - No I don't sorry - we try and avoid discussion of money as it is so vulgar.}

24 Jul 2011 21:35:12
Hi ed, pls are u sure ds 4lowing players will be in cfc till next season: anieka, ferera, lampard, bosingua, kalou, turnbul? Secondly, if u knw anyway u can reach AVB, pls tel him 2 sign pastore and wingers 2 4gt luka modric thanx. {Ed018's Note - try spelling in english and maybe i can provide an answer}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Lmao Obviously another dreamer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Be easy on the guy you xenophobes. Not everyone on Earth speaks English as their main language. We have many African and Asian supporters. Be happy that they are spending their hard earned on Chelsea shirts and not Man Utd or Barca. {Ed018's Note - ok i'll go easy on him for his spelling, but he wants me to talk to AVB, cmon}

If preseason is anything to go by, McEachran is really enjoying his first team opportunities. I very much hope that he is not loaned out, but rather given more opportunities with the big boys. Same goes for Sturridge. Ed002- do you know/have you heard if the club has any plans to sell Daniel? {Ed002's Note - Firstly, I understand that no further decisions have been taken on loans but expect Bertrand to go to Portsmouth. As far as Sturridge goes, the club do not intend to sell him unless something has changed recently.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I agree McEachran looks the part I really hope he gets more playing time next season.

ed if we sign pastore does that end our interest in modric i really hope so {Ed018's Note - i would think it would, especially with the amount of money it will take to get modric}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't no how Spurs can rate him so highly, not long ago Modric was a bench player and couldnt break into the first team. Keep him Spurs I'd rather have Nasri

Eds what exactly is the purpose of this website? Don't ask any questions, read and go? I appreciate you get fed up with people repeating questions but I am getting fed up with your bad tempered responses. So it is both ways. {Ed002's Note - The purpose is not for me to sit here and answer your questions - the purpsoe is for the posters to list and discuss rumours and I will answer the occasional question if I can help out. I volunteer my time to do this when it is available. We have to sift through very large amounts of vile and abusive mail everyday and then contend with rubbish questions about players who the club clearly have no interest in, and constant bleating about what has changed in the past few hours. If you are fed up of curt responses to your questions the answer is stop asking ridiculous questions. I think you have the entirely wrong idea about what the Editors are here for.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Great response from ED002, I just hope people take note of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is clear is that you are not enjoyng what you are doing and guess neither do I so I am out of here. {Ed002's Note - I am more than happy doing what I am doing thanks. I have a very happy and contented life. If you bothered signing your posts people could then see that these little bleating posts are not separate people complaining, just you. But we have appreciated your custom whilst you have been with us. Feel free to call in again sometime.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not sure what you implying here. I have never pretended I am different persons. Your website techies can very easily find this out from the IP addresses of the posts. I think basically you are a sad person who sees things skewed. {Ed002's Note - I thought you had gone. The point was it is you doing all of the bleating but no one can tell because you are an anonymous keyboard warrior. Do you write many complaints?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Blimey Ed002 are you Chopper in disguise?Appreciate the insight you provide as to the possible coming and goings at CFC.The reliability of which I have yet to find elsewhere. {Ed002's Note - Post of the day.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Unbelievable you havnt got anything better to do than questioning and degrading a guy who does this voluntarily and spends alot of time enlightening alot of people.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im fed up of people like this posting on this sight the fact the sight has lost his custom has only improved the service for the people who use this sight properly.

thankyou for your time and insight EDs {Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I really dont think Ed002 is in the loop of happenings in cfc thats why he avoids a lot of questions or isnt specific with his answers which can be very frustrating, but one the other hand we ask too many questions in such a short period in which nothing possible could have changed then talk less of the repeated question. Ed002 is doing a good job but reduce the sarcasm we are just needy cfc supporters

{Ed002's Note - It is this sort of unsigned post that really pisses the editors off. If you decide it is necessary to put down an Editor down then show enough respect to sign your post. I very much hope you never read another word I write - obviously you don't believe anything I have to say.}

Hi Ed. What is the situation with Sturridge, how willing are we to sell him? I guess it will depend on who we end up signing. As far as i know liverpool might be interested, have we received any bid? (not necessarily from liverpool) Thank you {Ed018's Note - im unaware of chelsea recieving any bids for sturridge, i'd really like to see him get an oppurtunity at chelsea this season though}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

As would I, i think his preseason games shows that he looks way more for his teammates than he did before he went to Bolton, I think he could be top draw

24 Jul 2011 17:42:15
Ed I asked you a couple of weeks ago if we enquired about Di Maria and you said that RM told CFC that he was not available. Has anything changed? {Ed002's Note - No - I'll say if it does. Please stop sending these annoying posts asking if anything has changed and expecting me to bother replying. I really do not have the time.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't really think Ed002 is cut out for this role ..... Ed018: Can't you take over all responsibilities on this page? {Ed002's Note - You see what pisses me off is (a) having to type the same answers over and over again; (b) being asked about Chelsea's interest in players who the poster has just found on some fantasy football game or have just been seen on television scoring a half decent goal; and (c) being asked if anything has changed in the past hour about the purchase of Neymar, Aguero, Pastore and everybody else. I volunteer my time to do this and then the anonymous vegetables like you come along behind theirkeyboards failing to sign a name.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely uncessary and unacceptable attack. I will be writing to the editors to complain about this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha you should write to the editors and ask if Ed002's opinion has changed in the last 5 minutes. If people don't like the answers from the Ed's don't ask such stupid questions.

Hey Eds. Love the site.

Neymar. What's the latest news if any. ?

Thanks and keep up the good work. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Latest blurb has Ribeiro stating that they don't even plan on selling him to Real, even if they meet the buyout clause. Probably just trying to us or Barca to bid more. {Ed018's Note - I dont pay attention to anything Ribeiro says anymore, the whole Neymar saga has been played out and im over it}

Hey Ed, is it true that real madrid, man city and psg are intrested in pastore too? Thanks {Ed002's Note - There are other clubs interested, cerainly Manchester City but I am certain that Pastore is not keen on a move there. PSG have declared an interest recently. Barcelona and Real MAdrid are less likely to be able to move for Pastore. Roma and the Milan clubs cannot afford hard cash right now. One of the other bids was from Malaga but I don't see them as much of an option.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

To be honest I would be worried if there weren't other clubs interested. This shows he is a top quality player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed, now that we are, according from micciche "very likely" to sign him, does that rule out any move for modric? {Ed002's Note - For the umpteenth time - I know nothing about any bid for Modric so really cannot say. I also do not think Pastore is nailed oin just yet.}

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2011 16:12:20
Hey Eds was wondering if you rate Pastore? Havent seen enough Italian footy to judge him.

cheers {Ed002's Note - He is a very good player.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Nice one. Hopefully we get him signed up. Thanks Ed002

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes definitely he is going to inject some pace and creativity.

Agree0 Disagree0

He may be good in there league but do u remember veron world class not

Agree0 Disagree0

Kind of silly comparing Veron to Pastore. That's like trying to compare Robinho to Neymar. You never know how they will adapt to the Prem. unless they actually play there.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a good
player but I don't think he will do well at chelsea

ed are we or are we not in advanced talks with javier pastore and if so if he signs will we turn our attention away to perhaps the wings? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what you mean about "advanced talks" and the discussions have not been with the player himself. There was, as I have said over and over again an offer made and put to his agent and the player to consider. There have been further discussions surrounding some logistical details that were asked about and these took place in Argentina recently. I am not sure if this is what you are referring to as "advanced talks" but they were really simple answers to a number of logistical questions that had been posed. There was no discussion with the player at that time. I also really don't know what you mean by "turn our attention to the wings". If you have a specific question then please feel free to ask it. But don't ask questions like "have we been linked to 'random player x' who scored a great goal yesterday" or "why have we not bought 'random player x' who is really nifty on fantasy manager 2011?" Questions like "turning our attention to the wings" is simply meaningless to me I am afraid.}

Sturridge + cash for modric we must be mad
For one modric isn't world class and two if we were to
Do a deal KALOU + cash seems better as I could see Sturridge becoming a great player and returning to haunt us

It has been applied for the last five summers, with no luck. Do you know if club will try to get him in as an exceptional talent?

{Ed002's Note - As I say, it has been applied for. I have not seen the application.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed so doesvillaas boas rates him and wants him in the squad {Ed018's Note - he must if they are trying to get hima work permit}

If Chelsea doesn't get working permit for Rajkovic next summer he'll get Dutch passport anyway so won't be problem to see him in CFC,

if the rumours are true that we are going to use Sturridge as part of a deal for Modric what sort of message does this send out to the other young englishmen at the club?? we need to keep Sturridge and forget Modric because Tottenham are ripping us off... {Ed002's Note - Don't belieive everything you read.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Sturridge is better than modric

24 Jul 2011 09:53:16
Hi Ed(s) I was just wondering if there was any truth in that we might use Sturridge as a make weight to bring in Modric? And if there is or ever has been interest in Jack Rodwell? Cheers. {Ed002's Note - No idea and there has been interest in Rodwell in the past.}

Pastore has been mentioned as a replacement for Lampard on a number of occasions. I know Chelsea are currently discussing/looking for a replacement for Lampard, I don t expect any proactive approach into this will take place until January or maybe the following Summer. The possible (and I stress possible) arrival of Pastore would not be seen as a long term replacement for Lampard; neither would Modric have been.

From my point of view if the midfield is occupied by three central players and two wingers from the central three you need (a) a player like Lampard (ability to switch play, time runs into the oppositions box and get onto the final ball, often having started the move themselves in their own half), (b) a player like Essien or Ramires (defensive/box to box midfielder with either an engine to get up and down the pitch all day long or the discipline to sit in front of the back four) along with (c) a player like Pastore or Modric (full of skill and creative ability who can dictate play in and around the oppositions box).

Pastore would be the creative piece of the puzzle that Chelsea are missing in central midfield not a replacement fro Lampard, Hamsik would be the perfect long term replacement for Lampard; I wish there was a young English player with his abilities. Maybe McEachran will develop into this player.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

I understand the jist of you post, but it seems to me that players are never really replacable, esspecially the best. Giggs/ Scholes at Man U, Gerrard at Pool, Lamps for us, these kinds of players are not run of the mill players, they each have there own style which makes them so good, you cant just replace them. I think when you look at Chelsea atm, you just have to hope that once Lampard has gone there are other players in the team to score the goals that he does, so a replacement is never a like for like, just bringing in new talent, and building up a new team around that.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2011 06:18:03
Ed when I see this Courtois to Atletico stuff I can't help but think that we would only do such a thing if it gave us a chance to sign Aguero... Do you personally think that this is an angle Chelsea are working on? {Ed002's Note - No. Even if Chelsea did sign Aguero it woul be nothing to do with this. Simply put, the problem with Aguero is the package for the player - not the payment of the transfer fee to Atletico.}

ed r we interested in mvilla
and r we still looking 4 a holding mf after we got romeu {Ed002's Note - I don't believe there is interest in M'Vila or any other defensive midfielder, unless you count Fernando, right now.}

23 Jul 2011 23:49:37
ed have you any idea what the bid recently made for lukaku was and would you say are a reliable source for football news as they quote Van Holsbeeck as saying the fee that needs to be met is 20 m euros but claim the bid we made is £22 m now dont get me wrong im not the best with exchange rates but 22 million quid is more than 20 million euros {Ed002's Note - Chelsea met with the Anderlecht general manager on Friday July 15 I am told that Van Holsbeeck is still looking for a figure in the region of 30M euros and that there are previously undeclared ownership issues to do with two other parties - one being Lukaku's father. Chelsea have made it clear that it is the responsibility of Anderlecht to deal with those third party payments and Chelsea were expecting Van Holsbeeck to have arrived for discussions accepting Chelsea were not interested in paying the sort of figure being suggested. It seems that this may continue to drag on for a while. The Chelsea bid was nowhere near £22M.}

im just wondering if you believe that chelsea should strongly consider signing hulk. ive seen him play in person...he is very very talented. {Ed018's Note - i think he'd be a good fit for chelsea, but there is no interest at this time in him}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I just dont see why not, drogba, im sad to say, is getting old. and with fernando and his lack of production i think hulk could provide a major spark to the team.
