Any truth that were interested in Rahman the LB from Augsburg Ed?

He's had a great season and is rated as one of the best LB's in the bundesliga this year alongside Bernat and Rodriguez. He's still young so maybe Jose sees him as as our future LB with Azpilicueta moving back to RB when he finished his love affair with Branna.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - A number of clubs including Chelsea have taken a look at him, but that is all at this time.}

Has this 'super agent' Jorge Mendes really been brought in to help the Griezmann deal? and has he helped any other Chelsea transfers before?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes and yes.}

13 May 2015 23:06:30
Interesting, which ones may I ask? :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have zero interest in getting in to that.}

13 May 2015 21:51:29
ed are we interested in jackson martinez and who is
thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Porto are prepared to cash in on Jackson Martinez with varying degrees of recent interest from Valencia, Inter, Arsenal, Roma, Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Juventus. However, whilst Porto will seek his full release clause of 40M euro but would likely need to settle for less (€36M for want of a number). Two bids from Juventus were turned down and Milan baulked at the asking price. This has left Valencia who are looking to make improvements again this summer, Napoli who have spoken with Porto and the player and have "broadly" struck a deal twice - but have struggled to get the detail finalised - and Arsenal who would need to match the Napoli deal. Spurs and Roma are still a possibility but the price will not be attractive. Atletico and Juventus have certainly moved on. His agent has sounded out Arsenal and Manchester United to see if they are interested - and as Arsenal are not able to get the striker they want he is one player they may look to.}

13 May 2015 21:49:51
Hi ed, this may be a stupid question but which players are Chelsea looking to sell in the summer

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - search the page. This was addressed a few weeks ago}

13 May 2015 16:08:08
Personally I would love Griezmann to sign this summer. Excellent player with loads of goals and assists in him. His versatility would be very useful in our squad also.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I would think there is a very good chance.}

13 May 2015 16:45:51
He's really come on at Madrid, fantastic versatile player and young to would love to see him at Chelsea, hopefully we get our business done early like last year

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2015 17:12:48
Whaaaaaaaaaat, there's a good chance of him coming to Chelsea?? Great new, replacement for Oscar?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would suspect Schurrle would be closer to the mark.}

13 May 2015 17:21:05
Hello everyone on the site. Long time reader 1st time poster. A question for ed002: shall I assume that transfer of Vietto to AM is in connection with the possibility of Griezmann going to Chelsea? Or is it separate matters? Thanks and please go easy on me. Pleasure to be part of this forum.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Atletico see Vietto as a replacement for Griezmann.}

13 May 2015 17:31:23
Imagine being at home against Bournemouth or Watford. If we signed him we could have Fabregas and Matic holding and then an attacking three of Willian, Hazard as no.10 and Griezmann behind Costa. That would be unreal. If it happened do you suspect Oscar will leave Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2015 18:34:35
It has to be said though that Griezmann hasn't really played on the right before (at least I think so). He's sort of a support striker. So it'd be an interesting fit.
Probably best to not worry about formations and roles in the team until he actually signs :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Don't get tied up in right and left.}

13 May 2015 19:45:13
I think he's really similar to Robben when you watch him. Quality players can create anywhere across the attacking three so I would have no worries with Griezmann. It's also great to see he has the same number of goals as Neymar in la liga. Neymar plays alongside Messi aswell not to mention Atletico are a defensive unit so he's definately a quality player.

13 May 2015 19:58:05
Duly noted, Ed. I'll try not to confuse myself any further haha :)

13 May 2015 20:56:55
Wow! What a signing that would be!

13 May 2015 14:08:42
IF Oscar were to leave where would be possible destinations?

what players are being considered as "fund raisers" if you like

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea may sacrifice Oscar in the summer with Juventus known to be keen on the player. PSG have enquired on several occasions, as have Real Madrid, but neither seems to be pushing at the moment.

I have no idea what you mean by "fund raisers".}

13 May 2015 14:54:25
players who may be sold as a means to raise funds.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Why not try and stick to English and ask "Which plays could leave the club this summer?".}

13 May 2015 15:07:55
you mean which players? try and stick to English

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2015 15:25:53
Ohhhhh smart ass response to the ed. risky move.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2015 15:54:24
Let's not go and ruin things for the rest of us now, okay? If you have a problem with the answers you get, then simply don't ask the questions.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2015 16:00:07
To be fair, it was a perfectly reasonable question in the first place.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Talking in gangster rap or whatever it is you people speak does not work with me. I am not hip to all of these flowery cockney sayings used by the glifnards. English works just fine.}

13 May 2015 16:59:10
Reasonable question? Yes.! No one said it wasn't. The term however "fund raiser" was wrong in more than a few ways, It's not rocket science guys.

13 May 2015 14:03:58
Hi Ed, apologies if this is a stupid question, but are there any players the club are actively looking to sell in this upcoming window?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, quite a number of players will leave. I have explained who before.}

13 May 2015 12:49:50
Read a report from the Sun (I think it was them) that Dortmund are interested in Bertrand Traore. Is there truth to it, Ed?
Any help would be appreciated greatly :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest from Dortmund but at a meeting on Saturday he was one of two players Lyon declared an interest in.}

13 May 2015 13:51:24
ED 002 Did the conversation with Lyon involve Lacazette?
Also is it true Icardi has agreed to sign a new contract with Inter?
Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I think you can put any thoughts of Lacazette and Icardi out of your mind.}

13 May 2015 14:14:41
Assuming they are not available Ed002 which strikers are the club now trying to sign?
Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Griezmann and a youngster, Kenedy (which is all but done).}

13 May 2015 15:42:34
Thanks for that Ed 002.
I presume Kenedy will need to go on loan until he get a work permit?
Have you any idea who will be the third striker,presumably Remy or Drogba?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Kenedy will almost certainly go on loan. Drogba will not be part of the playing staff nest season. Chelsea will talk to Remy when the season ends but there is interest from elsewhere. Once Bamford's season is over the club will talk to him.}

13 May 2015 15:42:37
Cheers, Ed! Great info as always. I hope they don't sell Traore though, a loan would be fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2015 15:55:33
Oh yeah if you don't mind a follow up question, Ed? Who was the other player Lyon declared an interest in?
Thanks :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Boga.}

13 May 2015 15:59:54
Many thanks Ed 002 very interesting news.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2015 16:04:14
And should we assume that both would be loan deals? I understand the club thinks very highly of both youngsters and if so, would seem surprising if either were let go permanently?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - What are you talking about?}

13 May 2015 16:08:28
Hi Ed, are Lyon wanting to buy or loan the 2?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They simply expressed an interest - it happens all of the time.}

13 May 2015 18:32:08
Thanks a bunch, Ed! :)

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2015 21:17:42
I'm talking about your statement that Lyon had declared an interest in both Boga and Traore. My question was, would either or both be loan or permanent deals?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They simply expressed an interest - it happens all of the time.}
