Hi Ed,

Has the club made a fresh enquiry into the availability of Luke Shaw since January? Just wondered with the Alberto Moreno move stagnating, weather or not Luke Shaw would be back on the radar.

Cheers Ed

Alessandro87

{Ed002's Note - Lat Friday Chelsea spoke with Southampton regarding being kept in the loop with respect to any sale of Luke Shaw.}

Hi ed002,

What stage of any sale is it at the moment?

Are soton still not lowering there evaluation for shaw?

Is it right to say chelsea are still keen on shaw if the price was lowered,in your experience do u see that happening?ed002

{Ed002's Note - It is on stage 7B right now. Chelsea will not pay the price asked of them in January. If Southampton find that they can accept a lower price, then Chelsea will consider it further. I am not going to speculate about what will happen.}

2.) Is there any update on Filipe Luis ed?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Hi Ed,

Do the club see Nathanial Chalobah as a defender or a midfielder? Also, do you think he will be in the first team next year, or is a loan being lined up again?

Cheers

Alessandro87

{Ed002's Note - It is too early to say about next year. I really have no idea what the club see him as.}

Hi Ed,

Which clubs are interested in Alvaro Morata?

Thanks

Alessandro87

{Ed002's Note - Morata has been dragging on from last summer when a number of clubs were interested in taking Morata on loan - this included CSKA and Arsenal. Real Madrid also thought that Liverpool would ask for Alvaro Morata as part of any transaction for Suarez but their focus has Suarez as probably only their third choice for a new striker. With a new striker arriving in the summer and Jese Rodriguez playing the way he is playing Morata will be available. It was clear that there was interest from Arsenal in January and that interest remains. There is also interest from Juventus and Dortmund. It will be a matter of agreeing a fee and probably providing asome assurances of game time. There was certainly no agreement over persdonal terms.}

1.) Thanks Ed. Has Chelsea ever looked at him as a potential summer transfer target?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Hi Ed, what are the plans for Thorgan Hazard and Lucas Piazon? Do the youth guys expect them to eventually play for Chelsea?

Thank You

Alessandro87

{Ed002's Note - Of course.}

Hi Ed002, I haven't posted for a while so I hope you are well.

I was just wondering if the club has ever considered selling naming rights to the Cobham training ground. Manchester United made some big money doing that and I don't see any reasons as to why we wouldn't do it.

Thank you as always

Alessandro87

{Ed002's Note - In the past there have been discussions with third parties about naming rights to both the training facility and the stadium - and Chelsea are certainly still open to consideration.}

Hi Ed,

With the club looking to add at least 2 strikers, and Costa seemingly nailed on, where is the interest for the 2nd one?

Cavani looks to be staying. Understandably no big money deal would occur for Falcao straight after his injury. Immobile gone to BVB, Lukaku seemingly off, Martinez looks to be a non-goer and Mandzukic apparently not highly prioritized.

I know there is interest in Lavezzi but, let's be honest, he isn't going to start up top. Is Aubemeyang a real possibilty? I can't see that happening myself. I'm not sure if I've missed anyone Ed, but if you can give us an update on who the club are looking at at this time, that would be appreciated. It just seems a lot of our targets and potential targets have been ruled out for one reason or another.

Thanks as always

Alessandro87

{Ed002's Note - There is no change from what was said before other than Immobile really.}

1.) We must have more striker support lined up beyond Costa. Pity that Lukaku has seemingly self-destroyed own chances of being this as could have had real prospects of being no. 1 in longer term.

Hi Ed,

If a deal for Felipe Luis can't be reached and with Shaw and Moreno looking unlikely at the moment, I saw you say that there aren't many other alternatives out there who are better than what we already have. Does that mean that Ashley Cole could still sign a new contract? He has said himself he will probably leave, but with there no formal announcement from the club, is the door still open?

Personally I believe Ryan Bertrand is very underrated and could do a job.

As always Ed, much appreciated

Alessandro87

{Ed002's Note - Cole has gone.}

Hi Ed,

Is Romelu Lukaku now classified as home grown? Also, what are the clubs plans with Nathan Ake? He's been in and around the first team for a few years without ever acctually establishing himself.

Cheers

Alessandro87

{Ed002's Note - Lukaku is home grown and Ake has only recently become 19.}

Hi Ed002,

Would you be able to briefly summarise the viability of building a new stadium on the Earls Court site please?

Thank You :)

Alessandro87

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea won't be building at Earls Court.}

1.) Has there been any developments within the club, or decisions made about renovating SB? or are they looking to move on? Sorry if this has already been asked, but as a club we are constantly growing and have outgrown the stadium now, and under Mourinho the fan base will continually grow. Feel we need 60,000 - 65,000 seats personally.

{Ed002's Note - It is not viable to do anything at Stamford Bridge. There is nothing going on right now. Lillie Bridge Depot was look at last year and that is it.}

2.) I understand the situation and the issues of doing anything at the Bridge. Do you think anything will happen with Lillie Bridge and why?

Why is there no possibillity of a move to Earls Court? Sorry for all the questions, but at least I'm not asking you about our interest in strikers haha :)

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - All I know is that Lillie Bridge Depot was considered last year. Earls Court is not an option - it will be redeveloped for something else.}

3.) Stamford Bridge can't be expanded or redeveloped. The cost of expansion would be around £20k per seat, which would take 25 years to pay off. We'd only be able to expand to around 50-55k seats. Overall costs for expansion would be around £400-500m.

Redevelopment of of SB would require the club acquiring all the surrounding residential land, which includes housing for ex-service personnel, which would be contentious at best. Also SB sits pretty much in the middle of a conservation area, which means the redevelopment would require a decrease in the size of the conservation area. Something the council would be vehemently against. Overall cost would be £600m+.
Neither of these take into account the issue of egress and being surrounded by railway lines.

Whilst not being 100% sure about Lillie Bridge, I believe the local council have no intention of granting planning permission for a stadium, however the Mayor could possibly step in. I do believe that currently it is our best and probably only option at this point in time.
