Verratti looked immense tonight against England. Total passing display, the comparisons to Pirlo look legit to me. Would love him in the pivot next to Luiz.

Anyone know why Luke Shaw is not in under21 championships?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He picked up a back injury. Jack Robinson took his place in the squad.

Don't ask me why but these are the players I believe that we will sign this summer.

Mangala
Van Ginkel
Schurrle
Isco
Cavani

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with the top 3, but isco is unlikely and will probs go to city, however, canvani seems possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco is almost certain to join Citeh

One Bomb Tom

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco is not 'almost certain' to join city. I believe that Mourinho is keeping a extra close eye on him at U21 champs and was also a fan when at Real. Isco also feels that he would get more first team oppertunities at Chelsea.

am I the only one who thinks we don't even have to buy any players for next season? look at our team/squad:

Cech

Azpi/Iva Cahill/Terry Iva/Luiz Cole/Bertrand

Luiz/Essien/Romeu Oscar/Ramires/Lampard

KDB/Oscar Mata/Marin Hazard/Moses

Lukaku/Ba/Torres

thats a squad of 21 players already where they can all rotate adn make the whole team freshand and with this squad under mourinho I really believe we can win the title. who else thinks so?

Fahim

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We definitely need another cb and I'd like Van Ginkel as well. Schurrle would also be a good buy in my opinion and if we really want to win prizes next year we're going to need a better striker

Agree0 Disagree0

GK Cech+2 moreGK's
Defence Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Terry, Luiz, Cahill, Cole, Bertrand
Midfield Lampard, Essien, Mikel, Ramires, Oscar, Romeu. deBruyne
RWM&LWM Mata, Hazard, Moses, Schurrle

hi ed do you believe our transfer targets may change now that jose is manager, I no young players such as schurlle are a club target. I hope you understand what I am asking thanks in advance.
jambo {Ed018's Note - maybe slightly}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks ed018 would one of them targets be jovetic I know we was interested one way or another in the past but ed002 said that it doesn't look like it now so I wondered if that interest is back now we have jose
thanks again
jambo {Ed018's Note - there is still interest in Jovetic}

Football has gone crazy! £34m for a 28-yr olf Fernandinho is ludicrous!
Bas!cs.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Man City have become desperate and have no long term plan, unlike roman who has been developing our youth development since he came in.

Agree0 Disagree0

I take it that is a "tongue in cheek" reply. because how many are in the first team ake has made a few cameo appearances but who else has really made an impression.

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason they are not in the first team yet is because they are all young teenagers. Our youth teams are regularly winning domestic and european competitions, when they are ready they go out on loan to gain first team experience, over the next couple of seasons we will start to see many of these young talents emerge into our first team squad.

Really don't know why people think Aubameyang would be enough of a addition to our strike force. Yes he could be a world beater one day. But him, Ba and Lukaku won't be enough to win us silver wear. Really, we need a TOP! Quality striker, who will come in a rock the boat from the off.

Cfc Dan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Completely agree with you mate. We should be challenging for the title not top 4 like arsenal, and these are very much Arsenal like signings

Agree0 Disagree0

Before you came to this site, how many of you knew Romelu Lukaku? Or how many of you knew David Luiz before he joined us? Same with Didier Drogba. "World Class" is a ridiculous term, any player can be "world class" depending on how you categorise it. Aubameyang is a top young striker with a good goal record, blistering pace and a nice dribble and would be a great back-up/foil to a player like Lukaku or Cavani upfront as well as being fairly cheap, a hidden gem in my opinion.
EH17

Agree0 Disagree0

As long as we get Cavani I will happily take Aubameyang. It is just the idea that some people seem to think Aubameyang is the only player needed in the striker department.

Agree0 Disagree0

Every transfer is different - you can't simply compare every striker we buy to Drogba.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like you said EH17, he would be good alongside a Cavani or Levandowski, but not by himself

Cfc Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Aubameyang will be fine as the only striking purchase IF we don't loan Lukaku again and if we get rid of Torres or even if he stays and plays a bit part role.
If we Loan out Lukaku then YES we will need another striker of top class i. e Cavani

Hi all so glad mourinho is back but were going to have to do something in this transfer window, city are just getting stronger with navas now fernadinho (spelling) and we didn't beat them once last yr even end of season friendlies, something has to happen

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The window isn't even open yet! Plus Fernandinho is never worth that! Cost more than Hazard and much older with less talent.
Calm down, we will have a great window. At least 2 marquee signings are coming alongside young talent according to my sources and they are usually very reliable.
EH17

Agree0 Disagree0

EH17, care to be a little more specific? Everyone loves some rumours ;-)

Navas played in 36 games in La Liga this year he scored 0 goals and had 5 asists this year, Negredo scored 25 league goals. If he was that great he would have assisted a lot more. He is quick and talented but he's not better than Nasri and I would rate Moses on a par.

Fernandinho once again is a good player but isn't going to win a title in my eyes.

Let them spend 50euros on squad players.

PB1989

Agree0 Disagree0

Navas is over rated, don't worry about him. Not a 100%, but think he only got like 4 goals and 6 assists last season. Not what you would call marquee.

Agree0 Disagree0

Navas created the most chances out of any player in the Spanish League last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Above poster, define chance in this case? Was it most passes in the last third or something like that? 4 goals and 6 assists doesn't sound too good to me for a creative winger.
EH17

Agree0 Disagree0

I dunno but on Opta stats it said that he had the most 'chances created for teamates' in the division. Above of Ozil and 10 above Ronaldo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he had the most chances but stats don't lie, and his stats are 37 games 0 goals 6 assists. As we have seen with Barca, chances are one thing goals are what win games

Ed - What are your thoughts on Eden Dzeko, I have not really seen enough of him at City so I don't know, do you think he could be a viable striker for the blues, or do you think he will be on the bench {Ed018's Note - I'm not a fan but that's my opinion.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Man city have spent £34 million on 28 year old Fernandinho of Shakhtar.

Wow

Talk about being rinsed!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I've got a feeling that lewandowski will be the striker we may get. Dortmund don't want to sell to bayern and there are few clubs that could tempt him, us being one of them. Jose knows how good he is first hand. With cavani, Neymar, Suarez, all off elsewhere watch this space.

Hey Ed
Do you expect a deal for Andre Schurrle to join Chlesea to be agreed this transfer window? {Ed018's Note - I think so}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Jun 2013 14:35:54
Guys, you have to stop believing what you read in the papers.

No manager will talk to the papers about what their targets are, let alone their dream team. Sports writers fabricate stories in an attempt to sell papers, at the very least they will blow a story way out of proportion.

If asked where they got their story from they will all say they canot name their sources. The truth is that the only sources they have is twitter and ketchup.

I'd like to see a balance of experience and youth next season. I think we've come to a point now where CERTAIN players need to be given a chance to shine rather than being shipped out on loan and some need another season on loan.

I'd go with the following squad:

Cech, Courtois, Azpilicueta, Cole, Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Cahill, Essien, Ramires, Lampard, McEachran, Chalobah, Marin, Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Lukaku, Ba

Ins: Shaw, Matip or Papadopoulos, Thiago or McCarthy, Dzeko, Shurrle

Outs: Torres, Mikel, Bertrand, Romeu, Ake (loan), De Bruyne (loan), Piazon (loan), Wallace (loan)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lol loan Ale, De brune and Piazon but keep Marin, Josh, and Nathaniel C on the squad. Glad your not managing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ake isn't as good as Chalobah for starter's mate, De Bruyne is part of the schurrle deal, Piazon plays attacking mid and we have enough of them, Marin is a good player we just haven't seen it yet due to injury etc and he adds width.

Why spend millions on cover when we have home grown talent waiting for a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree play mceachran an gel him now. Keep romeu though! BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

Papadopoulos has a bad injury record and for the price quoted isn't worth the risk.

Agree0 Disagree0

Outs Mikel, and Bertrand, and Romeu,

are you 12yrs old?
We need "SQUAD PLAYERS"

I don't know about anybody else but I would prefer Levandowski over Cavani. Just because of the fact that he can hold play up and bring other people into play. Cavani is good, but for me Levandowski has proved himself in a better league as well. Maybe rev this Schurrle chap off and use De Buryne in part of a deal for Levandowski, hopefully only by sending him on loan.
Levandowski, Ba and Lukaku has a good ring to it!

Cfc Dan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lewandoski will be moving to his dream club bayern

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2013 13:41:29
Ba is rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

How much have you seen Cavani play? He is a complete forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen him play a fair bit on ESPN, I never said he wasn't good, just that I would prefer Levandowski. Levandowski has proved himself in a better league, but it seems his set his sights on Munich

Cfc Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you 100% cfc Dan. With the money we save also by not overpaying for Cavani we could make an extra signing or two to strengthen the sqaud.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ba is rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewandowski wants to go to Munich and you two chat as if there's a que of all top targets outside your gate and you're picking on who'd you like and who's "not good enough".

Agree0 Disagree0

Ba is better than Torres.

In today's sun it has a team that Jose wants next season. Jose dream team. And I think with Luiz in there instead of lamps it is a frightening line up.
Cech
Azpilcueta varane terry cole
Oscar modric lamps
Mata Cavani Hazard

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Luiz instead of modric would be better, in my opinion anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Varane would be amazing.

Agree0 Disagree0

First rule in life. Never read The Sun

Agree0 Disagree0

That looks awesome. But I just can't see Madrid letting go of Varane.

Agree0 Disagree0

Id have Oscar playing where they have Modric, Ramirez where Oscar is, and Luis instead of Lamps as my starting line. I think that's perfectly achievable by bringing in Varane and Cavani.

Ive said for a while now, we need a striker who can score (let Torres go, bring in a top striker, and bring Lukaku back for cover up front and on the right), and a top class defender to partner Terry whilst pushing Luiz into midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do so many people on here want Lukaku brought back 'for cover'. Do none of you have a clue? What about his development. You don't want him starting week in week out? He can't even get into the Belgium team ATM infront of Benteke, and Benteke isn't the best striker going.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surly can't hold on to azpil at rb the amount of mistakes he made and goals he cost us last year was rediculose add to that he pushes forward and can't cross past first defender he would be on my first player out list

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster slating Azpilicueta. Do you actually watch matches?
EH17

Agree0 Disagree0

He can't do, Azpilaqueta has been outstanding at right back. Especially after the years of crap right backs we've had!

Agree0 Disagree0

*Azpilicueta

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramires Oscar Di Rossi for me with Luiz back at cb in place of John Terry.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want modric here, especially when Oscar and mceachran can play the playmaker from deep.
