funny how people slate young josh mceachran he's 19! same as thorgan hazard & lucas piazon. de bruyne is 21! but he has a future... 2 years difference and 2 years is a lot in physical growth and maturing as a footballer.

Ed should another manager become available before the end of the season, that the club are interested in would they move in now or still wait until the summer to assess the situation {Ed002's Note - You cannot expect that answered?}

So senior officials at the club are not happy with Benitez ED002? {Ed002's Note - It is not worth my bother answering such questions given the abuse I was given by the numerous DFs who were hanging off very word of his yesterday.}

I am tired of chelsea fans saying every season we are in transition

During AVB's reign, we were in transition, during Ancelotti's reign we were in transition, and now under Benitez, we are under tranisition

that is not an excuse

Believable5 Unbelievable8

During ancelotti we weren't in transition. avb should have started the transition but didn't sign any players except mata. now we have bought young players that are in the team and we have begun the "transition" process.

Agree6 Disagree0

We was never in transition under ancelotti. AVB season was mena be transition season but we only really signed mata. so it is now this season. person

Hazard related article showing usual FA incompetence/inconsistency re 'violent conduct' charges, including another ballboy incident (Oxford v Swindon 2012) when player involved only got yellow card and no FA action despite incident being brought to FA attention.

If we are not going to make any more signings this window, and unfortunately nothing solid linked with us (though we remain thin), may as well hope that FA (who do sweet F...A.. that's ever consistent!)don't remove one of our best players for any longer than three matches. VBS

Isco signed new contract at Malaga.. So another one we missed out on.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Damm! thought we would sign Isco and Fellaini on deadline day! Oh well, lets hope for Willian and Fellaini! DJ

Agree1 Disagree5

The new contract has a higher release clause in it. I doubt it will affect the chances of him leaving. It just means that there's a possibility of paying more for him

Chelsea 2013/14

GK: Cech, Turnbull
Got enough depth there, loan courtois for another season and then keep him as the n1
Signings: none
RB: Azpilicueta, Wallace
With Ferreira leaving we're left with good young players in that position.
Signings: none
CB: Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic, Luis
More than enough quality players there, ivanovic is clearly a centre half plus we've got some good talents in that position (ake, chalobah, kalas)
Signings: none
LB: Cole, Bertrand
With cole almost certainly leaving at the end of the next season, we could do with a good young English LB.
Signings: Luke Shaw
MID: Ramires, Mikel, (Oscar, de bruyne)
We clearly need some strong midfielders, with lamps all but leaving we would need a strong cm.
Signings: Fellaini
ATT. MID: Moses, Oscar, Hazard, Mata, de Bruyne
Enough players there.
Signings: none
ATT: Ba, Lukaku
Team needs a good striker, we've suffered since Drogba has left. I think Torres will be leaving in the summer. We need a big name there.
Signings: Cavani

Formation:
Cech
Azpilicueta-Terry-Luiz-Cole
Fellaini-de Bruyne
Moses-Mata-Hazard
Cavani
Subs: Wallace, Oscar, Ramires, Cahill, Ivanovic, Shaw, Turnbull
Manager: MOURINHO

This is what I think is the best and the most realistic team for the next season. It certainly looks unstoppable. What do you lot think?
Johnnycfc

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Take out fellaini and put in someone more solid in screening the back 4.

Johnnycfc

Turnbull will be leaving. Also agree that we need someone better than Fellaini.

Agree4 Disagree2

Etienne capoue?

RSM

Agree4 Disagree1

If we buy shaw he should be loaned back till cole leaves. ivan can also cover rb. luiz is a midfielder! he can cover cb. mikel should leave sign fernando(porto) mceachran also . I like fellaini at everton always have. but when he plays DM I don't see what the fuss is about. luiz offers more. imagine mikel & fellaini centre mids, were be giving away needless fouls 20 yards out every 5 minutes. BLUEBOY1

I'd personally have Ba or Lukaku on the subs instead of one of the 4 defenders

Modric..? Why modric what does he offer that we haven't got ?

If our squad is so weak ( I don't think it is), why do we have, the best goalkeeper in spain, one of the best AM in germany, one of the premier's inform forwards at WBA & countless other gifted 18-20 year olds parked at some great clubs ?
The reason in my opinion is we keep employing useless managers & especially the current one.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I think with de bruyne courtios lukaku kalas on loan with Torres likely to be gone in summer all we need and this is only my opinion :
Luke shaw cover and top talent
Paulinho cover for holding role
Falcao, long tern target and offers something different from power we have in Ba and lukaku.
And as I'm greedy Ben arfa as we need more width

So the waiter has a new excuse, we got no depth.
Well rafa, most fans in this country would love our squad. If the club spends 10's of million's on younger players, then send them out on long loans, then that's there fault. The problem is these players don't rate you & us fans think your useless, so the sonner you bugger off the better. We all knew as soon as this person replaced RDM, that the season was finished. You can see that most of the players don't want to play for him. The longer he stays, the more likely our best players will want to leave.

Time to start putting trust in lukaku, mceachran, chalobah, de bruyne. marin, piazon.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jan 2013 20:31:36
marin? has not played a decent pass let alone played a decent game since he has joined. I don't understand why people think he has this incredible talent just because they saw a couple of edited youtube videos when he signed! I honestly would rather have (and can't believe I am saying this) malouda in the sqaud of 25 then marin.

DannyTrueBlue

Agree1 Disagree3

You mean the 1/2 substitute appearances and 1 start he's made? Can hardly expect him to come back from injury and set the world alight. Especially considering that we've played horribly in all the games he's featured in.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2013 11:55:30
As a die hard fan I keep telling myself its a transitional season, but in actual fact, its an excuse we've been poor and the only real transition is from champs league to europa cup, Yes I agree we have a young sqaud and have had some injuries but all in all we have not payed week in week out good football, when the season started I knew RDM wasn't gona be here for 5yrs or even 2, and I see Benetiz was brought in to steady a possibly sinking ship, stability is what the club needs and a good hard look at the under performers, Lampard yes a legend but isn't the first name on the team sheet, Torres is shamefully bad and I'm worried Terry may never make it back, and we don't have leaders and then depth is a worry. So hopefully some good buys will make the difference for next season.

EDS how do the club expect a team with no squad depth to last the whole season Europa league will take it's toll we have no defensive midfielders and the club decide they will not be buying anyone else, Which person at the club let Meireles and Essien leave needs to be sacked we need 2 player's before thursday or our squad will not cope with the amount of games we play!

BLUEBLOOD

Believable5 Unbelievable1

BLUEBLOOD

It was a concern to me at seasons start that there wasnt enough depth in the squad and whilst I understand the logic behind loaning certain players out for me the bigger crime is that we haven't used players who are in the squad or are at the club and could have been played to give the regulars a rest.
For instance I really couldn't see the logic of playing Ivan or Dave at right back yesterday why wasnt Ferreria playing ? Also I wonder could Moulda have played or been on the bench. I assume that you can play non squad players as Yossi was on the bench.
Ok we had a lucky escape yesterday but what's the point of Rafa moaning about the demands of all the games if he doesn't give fringe players a run out or see how some of the younger players who arent out on loan perform.
Terraloon

Agree3 Disagree0

For Christ's sake - what happened to good old change of shape? If we have no defensive midfielders, can't we revert to 4-3-3? Christmas tree, diamond?

You do realize there won't be two holding midfielders coming in, don't you? Lampard and Ramires were great at 4-3-3. Revert to it, add Oscar to the base, mata on the left, torres to the right Ba in the middle. Hazards comes back, you reshape again.

Not good? Diamond:

Ba-Torres
Mata
Lampard-Oscar
Ramires

Not good enough?

Torres or Ba

Mata-Oscar
Bertrand-Ramires-Lamps

What's the problem?

I can tell you where it is. In 20 games this coach has not changed the shape once. Playing 34 year old twice a week in vital position put the performance of the whole team in jeopardy and it is inexcusable.

JG

Agree5 Disagree2

Di Matteo has already been sacked.

Agree4 Disagree0

Ramires is great in pivot, but not lampard & mikel next to him. play oscar or luiz

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2013 07:30:29
Oscar scored a beautiful goal yesterday and worked really hard throughout d game, more comfortable playing in d middle. Ba came on for a few minutes and created the equalizer; he was on d floor and managed to throw that pass to Torres who, other than d goal, was almost anonymous. Yes, we dnt have a strong enuf squad, but why wait till the 80th minute b4 changes? What did Bertrand offer on d pitch for 94mins? I dnt even want to begin with Lamps and Ramires...it's going to be a very long season.
BB.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Doesn't the fact that Ba manage to set up Torres after only being on the pitch for a few minutes mean that it Torres isn't necessarily rubbish but isn't provided any decent service?

Anyone think that IF Mourinho does come back next season, then Essien will stay?

Peds

Ever consider the fact that mourinho has a big ego so he wants to show it was a smart loan move, and is emotionally attached to the bison so he maybe uses him more often then most would? And... He's been doing things just to exercise his power/piss off the hierarchy at Madrid.

Sadly, Essien is no longer top club material

He still plays decent for Madrid, regardless of what Mourinho's trying to do...

Cant believe how negative people are on our boards, this is not reflected on other boards like spurs and Liverpool...I think a lot if blues fans are Johnny come lateleys and forget our indifferent past...sick of negativity from our so called spoilt brat fans...

Believable4 Unbelievable3

How a blind man can type on a keyboard is beyond me. Go have a look on the Liverpool Banter page and return to tell me they aren't bad. Actually feel free to ask Ed002, which supporters are the most negative towards their board, manager and squad on these pages. I do agree with you that it's generally the new breed of CFC supporters that change their views from game to game. The Lampard contract situation is the perfect example. If he scores we need to sign him up, if he doesn't he is rubbish.

benayoun was on bench against bees. it seems that benitez considering to use him as a squad player more often. this also means no ISCO/HAMSIK for the time being. it could be a blessing in disguise for torres maybe. but seems like no more signings for chelsea. maybe benitez gives malouda few games. in short time mikel, moses will be back. let us hope chelsea finish in top 4 with this unpredictable squad.

Malouda was in the EPL squad submitted in September. I seem to think he wasnt named in the CL squad though.
Terraloon

You're right Terraloon, my mistake. Although I get the feeling Malouda's career at Chelsea is over. He isn't training with the senior squad, and hasn't all year, so I suspect he is not in the equation anymore.

Melbourne CFC

Agree0 Disagree1

It seems he has been pushing at the exit door for a while and whilst I don't think he has any long term future I would have thought that as he is being paid it would have been worth while he at least being on the bench yesterday that's if he is considered fit enough

If Chelsea were to bring in David Moyes I think it would be beneficial to both parties.

David Moyes is a good manager that is proven in the EPL, show by his transformation of Everton from relegation battlers to pushing for Europe. Why did Abramovich sign Torres over Falcao? EPL experience, something which would hold some end if results stuttered at some point for Moyes (along with respect from all ends of the EPL for the consistent job he does)

The argument of Mark Hughes syndrome, for me is invalid. Mark Hughes had to build a Man City squad from scratch and tried to do it via a FM technique of buying the best players he could think of and giving them a chance.

If Moyes were brought in he would have a young talented squad to work with and frankly I don't think he would make many purchases due to his strong emphasis on bringing through talented youth players, something Chelsea have an abundance of.

We would all like the idea of ourbeloved Special One returning but remember the title winning years without the wool over your eyes. Chelsea were a team thanks main objective was not to concede and score on the break, with no chances of youth players breaking into the first time. I think Moyes is a manager that likes to adapt to play with what he has got and develop that further rather than buying to solve problems.

Just a few opinions

D

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Personally I think if you ask any top player in world football David Moyes does not come to mind as someone who you would want to play with. He isn't in the Mourinho, Guardiola, Anchelloti level of manager who players want to go and play for. I don't see Neymar or Falcao wanting to come to Chelsea if Moyes is the manager, just my opinion.
