Congratulations on Eden Hazard, Deserver player of the year.

Kane picked up young player of the year. which doesn't make sense but let's go with it :)

Congrats to al the players nominated

Kane deserved that, better than any other striker in the league this year. show a bit of respect mate

27 Apr 2015 01:59:04
Sorry but it doesn't really make sense. I kinda see why he got it as he has been great but Hazard was eligible for the award. So for me either Hazard wins both or Kane wins both.

27 Apr 2015 02:55:57
Yeh I would agree Kane deserved it cause he is turning out to be a goal scoring sensation from nowhere. With some luck he could easily finish as the EPL top scorer this year.

Hazard although young has been performing at the elite level ever since he signed with us. Congratulations again to all winner and may Chelsea win the league over the weekend :).

27 Apr 2015 04:46:34
while we know kane is a good player it indeed doesn't make sense because if hazard is going to be pfa player of the year, then he has to also be the young player of the year too. remember gareth bale who won both awards?

but i'm personally not too fussed as atleast hazard got the main prize so let kane have the young prize :)

27 Apr 2015 06:29:32
Situation mate, I think you have misunderstood me. What I mean is that Hazard was elegible for young player as well, so if he wins POTY, shouldn't he win YPOTY as well.

They need to decrease the age , 21 and under should be the 'young players', not 24 year olds that have been in the league for 3 years, it's unfair.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2015 08:26:49
Since when has just scoring goals been the criteria for best player? in other words Costa should have won it too, he has played fewer games than Kane, his first season at the club and his team is top of the league, not one of his goals have been from the spot.

To me the only two players that could have won it if not Eden were Sanchez and De Gea. Kane for me would be joint fourth with Diego and coutinho 6th. Yes Kane deserved the young player award think the young player isn't just about the age but also how he broke in to the scene and the fact it's his first season at the club. Hazard for me just about deserved it if Sanchez had lead arsenal to the league it could have been him, but Hazard has been consistent and all round better player this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2015 09:11:28
Yeah I get what you mean mate I think there needs to be some clarity on the age category's but I don't think they class 24 as young so if it had to go to anyone younger than hazard it has to be Kane, who do you guys think will get the clubs player of the year & players player?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2015 12:51:31
I think hazard will get both man, he deserves it

28 Apr 2015 08:50:01
I think Hazard deserved the POTY title, he has consistently delivered throughout the year. He is no longer a "rookie" and Kane deserves that accolade this year, will he deliver next year, who knows, but Eden was YPOTY last year and has grown and developed to become POTY in the very next season. That says a lot!!!
I'm sure Aron that Eden is happy to be "only" POTY, that says sooo much coming from your contemparies.
I read many times re "building a team around. " and I have to say I've never heard this from CFC, we are just building a "team"

Any real interest in Bale?

TBH we didn't win today but we played much better than against MUFC.
Oliver denied 3 clear penalties for Chelsea and one for Arsenal.
We need only two more wins.
To lose title is mission impossiblešŸ™Œ

We did what we had to do, stop Arsenal from winning. All the hard work was done in the first half of the season, when we played the best football in the country. Remember
A- arsenal are our nearest rivals and the most inform team in the league, they are playing at home.
B- we do not have a centre forward, that can worry their defence
C- we didn't need to win, it's about winning the premiership. Forget any accusations of boring Chelsea, refer anyone to the first half of the season, when we had a fresh and fully fit squad, that's how we can play. If Costa had been fit all season then I am sure we would have played differently.
Well done Jose and well done the players

I thought first half we were great, once Didier came on we lost any sort of control in their half. Good point, now to finish it up.

{Ed018's Note - he's a legend but I can't take anymore of seeing Drogba play. Time for him to become a coach}

26 Apr 2015 19:24:51
Yeah we simply can't press with Drogba which is a huge part of our game. We looked so much better in the first half simply because Oscar was pressing them and was a threat to get in behind their back four. When we weren't pressing them or threatening to go behind their back four was able to push forward far more and which lead to us sitting back deeper. It's clear all of our strikers need to be mobile for our system to work at it's best.

26 Apr 2015 20:35:11
Agreed Ed018, the sooner Costa gets back the better, plus hope Oscar is okay has there been any updates on his situation?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed018's Note - I haven't even checked so I'm not sure}

27 Apr 2015 14:19:59
First half was much better than second for both teams. During second half both teams were playing carefully.

Gotta say I thought the campaign was over. In all fairness I rate michael Oliver very highly. Hope he gets it back on track.

I can't believe Ramires missed that chance.

How we didn't get a penalty? How bad this referee is?,

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2015 18:13:39
Clear penalty when Ospina took out Oscar. I didn't think the other two were though. Fabregas exaggerated way too much making it look like a dive even though it wasn't and the first shout on Oscar is sometimes given, sometimes not, very minimal contact. Cahill was a yard away when the ball hit his hand so no intent there what so ever.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2015 19:30:43
The first one wasn't one. Cesc's penalty absolutely was one but as another poster said, flailing his legs probably didn't help. Don't know why they're making anything of Cahill's but not Monreal's as they were incredibly similar. Commentator mentioned something about it being our 5th booking for simulation which I found outrageous as we've been hard done by for most of the season. Diego got booked incorrectly against Burnley, Cesc got booked incorrectly at southampton, and I think one more was wrong. With that said, Ivanovic has a history of making a meal and Cahill did get away with a blatant one vs. Hull but by and large we've been hard done by.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Apr 2015 19:50:18
To be honest I thought the only penalty in the game was for the stupidity from Ospina. I think the ref probably thought the ball was going in and that both players went for the ball, then didn't know what to do when it got cleared off the line - it's unlucky but refs always make mistakes, how ivanovic didn't get a card for the stamp on sanchez bemused me also. As much as I hate when shots are stopped by accidental handballs, it definitely wasn't a penalty against cahill either, would have been raging if they'd given one like that against us.

Gotta say I truly despise teams setting up for a 0-0 draw and that is bores the hell out of me but if Chelsea weren't so far ahead in the league they wouldn't have been able to do so today, so I can't complain really. Makes for nice easy sailing towards your title, congratulations.

It's really nice to see this yet again from another opposition fan. (Man Utd last week). It makes a change having unbiased opinions on a match from an opposition supporter. Kudos to you LemonTree. Personally I enjoyed the match, the first half more so than the second. The introduction of Drogba was a definite game changer and I feel that was Mourinho deciding against chasing the game any further.

Does anyone think van persie would be a good back up striker with him maybe not needed at utd.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has no interest in Robin van Persie.}

26 Apr 2015 15:35:20
Nope. In our current system it is clear that we need a striker who is very mobile in order to run the press that we do. Drogbas understandably struggled with this but Remy and especially costa do a wonderful job.

Hi Ed,

I read the newspaper today, it said that Chelsea could face a "transfer ban" due to the transfer of Nathan and his complex possession. Is it true?

Btw, last week you said that: "Chelsea are awaiting Mr Abramovich to agree the offer for Koke". Can I know the answer? What did he decide?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - (a) They are teasing you - Nathan has not signed for Chelsea. Porto, Hamburg, Nagoya Grampus, Real Madrid, Braga, Monaco and Kawasaki Frontaleall have a declared interest in Atletico Paranense's Nathan and, rather surprisingly, all have spoken to his representatives. I understand that Chelsea's Jorge Alvial has been looking at the player and the club have involved agent Giuliano Bertolucci. They have taken a slightly different tact and have spoken with Nathan's father and with his club, and have come to an agreement to avoid Nathan going to court to get permission to buy out his contract. He has passed his medical and has agreed personal terms with Chelsea. However, Doyan sports, his third party owner, are trying to squeeze more money out of the deal and have contacted Monaco and Porto to see if they will pay more than Chelsea agreed. So it is a little in limbo right now. A work permit at this stage would be unlikely so a loan in Europe would be the probable way forward if he were to sign. (b) I explained, I am not getting in to giving blow-by-blow accounts but Chelsea has put a proposal to Atletico.}

26 Apr 2015 15:31:06
Would we be right in assuming that Abramovich has agreed the offer being put forward and we're just waiting on a decision from Atletico then Ed? Or am I being hasty?

Thanks in advance

{Ed002's Note - No.}

There are plenty rumours about Chelsea looking to sign Bale, Varane and Jese. I can understand interest in Bale and Varane but Jese Rodriguez? Chelsea already has Willian, Cuadrado and Ramires as third back up .What for we would be interested in Jese?
