Rafa Benitez told the media today Cole and Lampard will be leaving the club at the end of the season so that confirms it them ED02 both wil definatly leave?

Lampard said to be fuming, I cant blame him, a chelsea legend disrespected by that clown Benitez. The sooner the next 7 months are over the better.
I would rather have had Avram Grant

Lampard is most likely heading to America in January. Cole has been offered an extended deal. A one year contract. It is up to him whether he stays or goes. Supposedly he wants a two year deal, and is unwilling to budge on that demand. Either way, both have been unbelievable servants to the club, through our most successful period, and both deserve our full respect.
This is the one thing that IMO other than results, will be rafas undoing. He constantly airs out in house matters to the press. Something RDM being the class act as he is, never did.

I think Rafa was probably referring to their contracts expiring at the end of the season. That is how things stand currently.
Perhaps if people used their initiative rather than reading something else into it. Journalists will always make the most out of any managers comments.

Reality is, with or without Rafa, Lamps and Cole are set to leave. Why does truth hurt so much? Cole has not been great this season and what does Lamps add to the team now? Time to move on and rebuild. Simples.

Ed a few questions
1 is Malouda leaving in January
2 is Paulo F leaving in January
3 With the chance Ashley Cole will leave at the end of the season do you think the club will buy to have another LB along side RB or will PVA be the other full back

Hello Ed. is chelsea interested in Casemiro?
he's is one hell of a talent and we lack a defensive midfielder and in need of some quality there, he is also a very good leader for the team and he is playing in a perfect place to be in contact with the whole team.

perfect scenario. chelsea come 2nd in the league, win the club world championship and league cup/fa cup. benitez doesnt get a new contract. guardiola rejects chelsea/goes to milan, real madrid win the champions league, mourinho's job is done and returns home (and possibly brings ronaldo with him if im being extra wishful)

jose will join chelsea next season and do a alex ferguson. gradiola has only managed barca so far that contains legends. on the other hand jose has won titles with every team he managed. jose resume is better than peps and jose loves chelsea very much. regarding players chelsea should zell luiz or play him as s defensive midfldr. chelsea should sign a quality centerback of. caliber of fabio cannavaro. sell torres go a. madrid for money plus torrres, kakuta.

Benitez eyes Brazilian midfielder as first Chelsea signing(Paulinho)"
That signing wouldnt be too bad?
Still leave us with us needing a few players in tho.
1 Left back (assume Cole leaves)
2 Strikers (assume Sturidge leaves)
If we get that and Paulinho, i think we would be an amazing team, if all the players is top quality that is.

Cole Ivanovic Cahill azpilcueta
Ramires mikel Oscar
Mata. Hazard

A 4321 formation, defensive with counter attacking, this is what rafa likes, be good to see mata hazard play close and work well hopefully, be alot of pressing and disciplined hopefully

Did you watch last year were Romeu played more consistently:) there he played far better than Mikel is playing now. Also Romeu is alot better when running around alone on the defensive midfield, you have only seen him next to mikel obv they both look stupid with no one going forward.

maybe its a bit niave but i wish we could stop saying get this player this players rubbish or he needs to be dropped or he would only cost 48 mill for his buyout.
I would rather a manager that gets the best out of his players and builds a team, instead of that aint working lets buy something else see if that works. We have arguably 1 of the best set of midfielders in the world bar barca,i think 1 of the best goalies ever azpill looks good cole on the left.Torres is not playing in the right tactics for his game . he plays off the last man striker.look at zlatan at barca he was crap if you swapped them who would score more it would be close. I want a manager who can come in a lead the team and create that winning mentality again.I think we need a Leader at the back again and a tiote type player,if we play the right tactics and are led from the top,we could be awesome. we have the players its the coaching and managers that have let us down in my opinion.Gareth 1973

Yeah Zlatan was horrible: Barcelona 29 (16) goals. If Torres just did that i would be super happy, but Zlatan actually helped his team back then.
Torres just stand up the pitch looking at a football match, even Benitez said his attitude stinks.

i wasnt happy to hear rafa is our new manager.but after hearing the way he does things and long dilerberation ,im gonna give him a chance to be honest chelsea has been all over the place since wilkins left in my opinion.
Yes we won cl final but i mean the club doesnt seem to be singing from the same sing sheet no clear direction of what is going on.when mourinho took over we could see what was being done and the building of a team was easy to see,
yes there was bad buys to swp and sidwell and alike.
but we could all see the tactics the leaders and the fight for each other and the i will not lose at any cost from the manager down.
Now i cant see what direction they are going in.
I know we are looking for a barca type setup but we havent since mourinho left had a real managerial leader AVB tried but was basically overalled by the players.
IN benitez we could have another real managerial leader again, the scousers really did play for him and he was undenibly the boss.
i hope he does play 4-3-2-1 i think this is better than 4-2-3-1 as it is defensivaly better, and we will play down the middle more which will help our style of player and might even give a certain spainiard more room to ply his trade.Torres has to many players round him to be affective it crowds his space. he likes to run off the last man,not have his back to four defenders with four midfieders five yards behind him,
my team would be
CECH
AZPILL CAHILL IVAN COLE
LUIZ
OSCAR Ramires
MATA HAZARD
TORRES

Harry may not be the best tactician but he gets the best out of players and can turn an average player into a really effective one.

Hello All,
Im Sure ED will sit on the fence on this one as duty demands it ...
But for all u Chelsea fans out there who like to play in the open ... i wish for you to be forthcoming
AGREE = Josep "PEP" Guardiola
DISAGREE = José Mário dos Santos Mourinho Félix, OIH, or simply JOSE MOURINHO
Who would u like take charge come end of season 2012 - 2013 ...
I personally like "the Special one"

Neither Jose or Pep will come to Stamford Bridge.
You have burnt too many bridges and they are not fools to be treated as disposable rag dolls by a spoilt child.
Roman can only be ruthless for so long. Sooner or later the better coaches will not play to his tune. Believe it or not his money will not be able to buy the best anymore.
Rafa is using the job to get his profile raised for when he takes the Real Madrid job.
Pep and Jose will have better options this summer.
Why not look to have John Terry as player manager next season. That should keep everyone happy.
Agree3
Disagree4
I could not agree more, we are getting to the stage with the way the club is run that no top established manager will touch us because they are not allowed to do their job.
The owner takes a fancy to a player and go's out a buys him then tells the manager to include him and make the team operate around him.
As we have seen over the past few years not a recipe for success.

Falcao is the best in the business! His movement is unbelievable and his finishing with either foot or head is 2nd to none. We have to get him whether or not it is in Jan or the summer. ED001 are you a fan of Benitez any positive things you can say for him despite the obvious Champions league win in 05 was he hindered by Hicks and Gillett on transfer dealings did he get to sign the players he wanted? Thanks
BLUEBLOOD {Ed001's Note - tough one, as a man I like him, he is a very nice bloke, always there to help out charitable causes etc, and only ever puts his name to things when it is to help out the cause. As a manager, I am not a fan, for one his friendliness is an issue and he tends to be very open with people around him, so everything is done in the public eye. His tactics were, apart from one short spell at Liverpool (which resulted in the club getting its highest league finish under him), extremely negative and defensive, boring even. So that would be a worry for me, hopefully the attacking talent he has to hand at Chelsea will mean he will be more attack minded. The main issue with his transfer dealings at Liverpool will not be relevant at Chelsea, as he won't be buying the players or awarding them contracts the club couldn't possibly afford. Though that does explain why his transfer dealings were hindered by Hicks and Gillett, as Liverpool simply were not in a financial position to afford Rafa's dealings. He is a good coach though, players do tend to love working with him. Maybe he is the right man for a job like Chelsea, where his weaknesses are not going to be so much of an issue.}

Hi Ed, Do have any idea why Falcao isn't playing in the europa league? He's not injured. For me I think a deal has been struck with an unknown club, so when he make a move in the winter he won't be cup-tied in europe.Any idea? {Ed002's Note - There is no deal with another club. I suspect they wish to keep him fit for the league. If they get close to the final no doubt he will play.}

They have been resting alot of players for Europa mate. Even Cortious isn't getting games. Even if he was playing, and went to a club playing CL footy, he wouldn't be cup tied. It is simply they want to succeed in the league.
