Game against Stoke was good.

Courtois - what a weapon. Love him
Ivanovic - better game from Brana, however why does he never stop a cross? He just sticks his leg out, but rarely stops it.
Cahill - better game, made another brilliant block
Terry - Captain leader Legend.
Azpi - what a menace defensively
Matic - don't even need to say anything, his performances say it all. World class and the best defensive Midfielder in the world.
Fabregas - he can do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke! Goal assist, and midfeild domination
Mikel - another great game from Mikel, was a beast and didn't let anything past him. Passing was a bit off but that doesn't matter
Willian - he is so so so frustrating. I'm hoping Andre Schurrle gets lots more gametime in the future
Hazard - I considered this to be one of his best performances of late, he is an absolute champion, and I was glad to see him get back on defense a lot.
Diego Costa - warrior. He is an absolute tank. His finishing has been off since his injury and missed 2 simple chances, but he wreaks havoc.
Schurrle - looks like he's getting back to form, should have had an assist.
Drogba -

I think you're wearing rose (blue) tinted specs straight after the game.

For me, a fantastic team performance overall. Individually I thought Ivanovic was quite poor, dragged inside too often, lucky not to give a pen away with a wild lunge prior to Cahill's excellent block. Mikel was far from solid, letting runners go and too often occupying the same space as Matic. still way too slow in possession. Willian was wasteful going forward but did a great shift for the team, tackling and tracking back.

Just my opinion though. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

With you Aron on Willian, he doesn't head in. I don't know what it is. Maybe I genuinely believe he can offer more going forward if he maybe just dug a little bit more? His work ethic is second to none. And for a winger that's saying a lot but I just really think we are lacking a little bit on his side.
Stp he had a decent game, the team did well we won but I think he knows also that he has to do better you can tell.

Are you joking? Mikel is dire. He got caught in possession three times, passes the ball to marked and under preasure players. As for Willian all this contract talk best be lies, he doesn't deserve it. Frustrating is an understatement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Here comes the hate on Mikel. He did a very solid job in my opinion. Mourinho though he was our best player against Newcastle (not saying much, we were terrible)

Agree0 Disagree0

What happened to the rest of it lol? Do you want me to send the last part in again?

Drogba -

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - Go for it no idea what happened.

What on earth?!? Whenever it's gets to drogba part it cuts off?

Agree0 Disagree0

Zouma - that leap doe

Mourinho - bravo mastermind. We didn't play fantastic but we had that 2 goal cushion in the end which is so important. Glad he played Mikel and matic together today, good move, though this was the sort of game I would have played Luis Felipe though imo

Where was Rèmy?

We march on :D (how's that for a positive post :P )

Agree0 Disagree0

All I know is if Torres have missed two opportunities like Costa did last night he would be slaughtered on this page.

Agree0 Disagree0

But did torres work half as hard as Costa does and did he battle defenders like Costa does to unsettle them.

Yh Costas finishing could sometimes be better but his all round play and work ethic is what chelsea need.

Therefore whenever he works that hard, people on here won't just start slating him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres actually worked harder than Costa but his finishing skills were poor. Costa reminds Drogba much more than Torres, but still even at 37 Drogba looks better than Costa&Torres.

Agree0 Disagree0

And please stop slating Mikel, he played very well, had one obvious wrong pass and that's it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha what was you watching? Torres works harder than Costa? You're funny.

And as much as I love drogba. He doesn't look as dangerous as Costa.

Agree0 Disagree0

And I counted at least two poor passed by mikel.

I do however think he was needed in the team last night but I still don't think he's chelsea class. He's so slow on the ball and can't pass forward. He's lazy with his tracking back as well. I'd much rather ake play than him

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think I am funny.Torres had better work rate.
Jose Mourinho wants striker like Drogba but since Drogba doesn't have a clone closest player who looks like him is Costa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mn/Chn there's a massive difference between running around like a headless chicken like Torres did & battling for ever ball, using he's strength to bring others into play, linking up with the midfield & defending when needed like Costa does so no he never worked harder than Costa does

Agree0 Disagree0

Situation 88 the fact that Costa is fitting better than Torres doesn't mean that he has better work rate. Costa is not pressing opponents defenders the way Drogba and Torres do or did.
Costa has a big advantage to have player like Fabregas next to him.
Don't rise some players to the god level and slate the others. Things are not simple as your young brain thinks.
Is Costa great signing-yes he is, but is Costa the most significant signing that Chelsea have made during new Mourinho era-no!
There are two other players who are making Chelsea so powerful today.

I can't remember Torres making a run like that in his time with the club. That said during that period I was generally drinking pretty heavily during games to take away the pain of watching ft9.

Agree0 Disagree0

Costa does press a lot imo. Chases every lost cause

The Mikel battering is a joke. You guys are the same people that was slamming me for being critical of Cahill. So silly

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't said anything about Cahill regarding your post.
Marry Christmas Aron!

10 $ we concede in the last 15 minutes and drop points lol

Need to go get another one.

C'mon boys

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed008's Note - Where's our $10 then?

Wow Ed008, that's an awesome avatar!! I love it :-) Ninja Turtles are the best haha

Agree0 Disagree0

God damn

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - Thanks Jackson! We'll let you off this time Aron it is Christmas after all :)

Tisk Tisk Aaron mate, man of little faith.
Surprised though we won without really leaving 2nd gear and I must say for the third game in a roll too. We would definitely need to up it In the next three games.

Top of the table in Christmas, get in there still a long way to go still but can't do more than first can you?

Come on you blues.

P. S hope Hazard ain't injured would be a huge blow.

P. S. S Matic is unbelievable he is so good it's unreal tip my hat to him.

P. S. S. S Andy Townsend is a proper dimwit, his commentary was the most bias piece of dog doodle ever. Wanted us to drop points so bad, he didn't get it though.

:)

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha lol, merry Christmas to you

Agree0 Disagree0

I was nervous ELI :(

And Matic Is incredible

Watching our team play Stoke is really frustrating sometimes. They get away with so many rough plays.
I'm not going to say that Bardsley should've gotten a red but we're very lucky that Hazard seems to be a player that's hard to injure.
I'm posting this at around the 70 minute mark and I really hope we can hold on. So glad we got the early goal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree Jackson. Wasn't the best game but what you expect when you play Stoke. Think the ref was a bit lenient though as there were quite a few small fouls that he seemed to wave away. Personally I thought it was a red, but that may just be my bias showing.
We were quite lucky in a sense with the 2nd. Thought we sat back too early in the 2nd half.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a shame as well that Costa didn't manage to score at least one of his chances, but 3 points is all that matters. Good play by Schurrle though on that last chance for Costa, hope he can make an impact during this busy period.

Agree0 Disagree0

You jinxed it! Hazard injured in last minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry guys, I funned up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if are talking about ref he missed second yellow to Stoke player and he didn't give us a clear penalty after Fabregas was fauled inside penalty box.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was wondering about the Fabregas incident too. But the ref took the easy way out and gave offside, which was completely wrong.

Not exactly Chelsea related but listening to Brendan Rodgers and other pundits claim that Liverpool deserved at least a point if not 3 from yesterdays game just riled me up. For me the only time you can come out and say you deserved a different result is if you had decisions go against you, e.g. you had a goal incorrectly ruled offside, or their offside goal wasn't ruled out or if you had a player incorrectly sent off etc. Otherwise in the end, the result you get is in general the one you deserve.

The whole claim that because they had 65% possession and 30 shots they deserved 3 points is ridiculous. Of those 30 shots only 10 were on target and 7 of them my 70 year old grandma could save!

Even if they had 90% possession and 100 shots, unless you score goals and stop the other team from scoring, you don't deserve to win.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That's 100% true IMO.

Rogers saying that Liverpool can challenge for a top 4 finish on the back of that result made me laugh the most.

Agree0 Disagree0

What I laughed at most Woody, was the fact that he blamed his teams defensive frailties down to individual mistakes. Whilst there have been quite a lot of them, Liverpool's defense has been sh*t for 3 years under him and he's spent arond £70m on it and still can't get it right. He doesn't take responsibilty for any negative things. To think I wanted him as our manager 3/4 years ago!

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh dear fuser. He's a terrible manager lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Tbf Aron I wanted him after AVB and he was doing well at Swansea. But yes, in hindsight it would likely have been a woeful decision.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool's playing very well creating goal opportunities. Soon they'll start scoring and then we won't laugh at them as we do now.
Tonight's game was though one and I am very happy that we won. Stoke managed to beat City & Arsenal this season.
The most important is that we have 3 points more than yesterday.
Next 3 games will be though but they won't be decisive-City will have their though period as well.
MARRY XMASS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO OF YOU ON THIS PAGE! I WISH US TO WIN PL,CL&FA CUP NEXT YEAR!!

Agree0 Disagree0

There 70 million $ defense is still atrocious. They can't expect to out score there opponents this year without Saurez.

That's what we all wish for MN, merry Christmas to you aswell mate

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL - I've disliked Rodgers since he said he wouldn't manage Chels because 'he wanted a career'. The career's not going too well, is it Brendon?!

Agree0 Disagree0

So we know The drogba is retiring, who would you replace him with from these players?

Andy Carrol
Saido Berahino
Danny Ings
Charlie Austin

If Carrol wasn't injured all the time, defenetely him. Offers similar to drogba, and is English (like the rest of them) or Danny Ings, but I've heard he's incredibly injury prone as well, so it's hard

Opinions

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - None of these players are of any interest to Chelsea at all.}

Thanks mate, was really just a fantasy questions but thanks for insight anywa

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not Benteke?

Agree0 Disagree0

None of them - have you been hitting the xmas plonk too much?

Agree0 Disagree0

If I had to choose it'd probably be Austin.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying we should get any of them. It was a question to see what English playe you would buy of those players

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - I'd say Austin or Berahino}

I'd say Austin out of those

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs Costa Drogba will be retired next summer so we should consider signing another striker next summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, but none of those mentioned. My bet would be Icardi. (although it wouldn't surprise me if Jose offers Drog another year).

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of those players probably Carroll. He's an absolute nightmare in the air which would offer us a different dimention. With that said I'm with everyone else in that i'd prefer none.

Important for us to get a win tonight to keep our noses in front of Citeh, especially as they have some relatively easy games coming up.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hopefully can put a couple past them as well, hopefully more :) 3 points is a must

Hi Ed

What is your understanding of what could happen with Torres? Could he end up back at Liverpool?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Torres is on loan for two years.}
