Cracking news regarding mata should be unveiled Wednesday when he arrives back in the uk after passing medical, also looks like Modric deal will be agreed within the next 48 hours, all I can say is who will be the next player in as everyone knows Chelsea make or attempt a signing on the last day who could it be? Your thoughts please
1. Pato
2. Neymar
3. Hulk
4. Ganso
5. Kaka
6. Adam Johnson
7. Tevez

Forgive me if I have missed some of ur favs out, don't mind being corrected

If we really want modric we'd better sort it soon. According to reports HR is going to play him Wednesday night against Hearts. If this happens he'll be cup tied until January.

No. Remember his head ain't right. :)

Hi Eds, a while ago the possibility of Sam Hutchinson coming out of retirement was bandied about about. Was this just mindless talk or was there something in it? {Ed002's Note - He spent some time in the States and the Middle East being fettled. There was enough confidence that the club let him train and play in a reserve friendly fixture - I don't recall the details. If he is OK, I would not expect to see him until everyone is certain he can stand up to the daily rigours that a player must go through.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Thanks for the reply Ed, i've got my fingers crossed for the lad, he was/is a great prospect

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be great if he could make a return, there would be no need for a new rb.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats the situation with the lad then and what happened in the past if anyone knows

Wise people always said that always respect refree on field. But rajkovic spitted on him. That caused fifa banning him from playing for serbia. If he had not spitted h would have played his quato of matches long ago.

To generate income, chelsea should look at south east asia. So far chelsea foccusing on malysia, thailand. But they should concentrate more on india. Although not many people play football in india and our team ranks 144, people have a huge fan following for premier league. Am a chelsea fan since 1999 and have seen the interest in football getting higher and higher. Chelsea do not have big stadiums like man utd and arsenal. So they should look out for ways to sell their brand in india to 120 crore people. I also think roman should buy an ipl team like kings XI and look to promote chelsea brand through cricket. Editor do tell roman about this plan.

The future for Chelsea is starting to look bright again, I think AVB has been smart this summer and brought in young players who will ultimately change the style of Chelsea; he will be the manager to finally take Chelsea out of the vast shadow cast by Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho installed his ‘hard work before skill’ philosophy into his players to such an extent that to expect them to adjust to another brand of football is asking a great deal; especially when that philosophy brought them so much success. This coupled with the relative tightening of Abramovichs’ purse strings over recent years has meant that the managers that have followed Mourinho have ultimately been using his squad and philosophy; the squad simply isn’t built to play expansive, attacking football. Two of these managers (Grant and Hiddink) were ‘caretaker managers’ however in effect they have all been looking after his squad in a caretakers’ role. The squad was a talented but aging group and reinvestment was needed; AVB is the first manager to have this opportunity and he has begun to build a new creative aspect to the team with new players and player already at the club…
Modric deal will be done in next seven days, a top player who will offer creativity.
Mata deal is all but done, he is top, top class who will offer width and creativity.
De Bruyne looks like a very good player with two very good feet, will be a future star, hopefully he can get fit for a medical this summer.
Sturridge a bright future star of English Football, he will play very well off the right side of the attack.
Torres looking sharper, Lukaku is undoubtedly going to be a top player.
David Luiz was signed and will certainly grow into the clubs No1 centre half, hopefully in the not too distant future he will be joined by Chalobah.
McEachran will be one of the best midfielders in the Premiership, he is a player in the mould of Xavi and Iniesta and has the potential to go right to the top. Oriol Romeu has come from Barcelona with rave reviews.
Thibaut Courtois is rated as one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe and will learn his trade at a top club before returning to Cheslea.
AVB is building a new looking creative aspect to the team along with a new looking squad but it will not happen overnight, Anelka, Malouda, Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Lampard, etc. will all leave the club over the next two years and AVB will bring more of his own players in. This year needs to almost be a regrouping year, let’s not get too carried away if we don’t win any silver wear, we need to start thinking about the next four-five years; only worrying about the next season is why the club went stale.
The dynasty Chelsea created during the Mourinho years was great but it is now over; let the AVB years begin.

The last bit about AVB being allowed to have a year to rebuild without necessarily winning any trophies is a fantastc idea, and I hope Roman sees that this is a transitional period for the club. Even with this, I think we can challenge on all fronts. Optimistic. :)

The Daily Mail is reporting that Arsene Wenger has made bids of £15m for Yann M'Vila and £20m + for Eden Hazard. I no Chelsea have scouted both these players and i personlly am huge fans of them. Do you see us making an approach for either of the players as i believe they would bring real quality to our side and also i do feel we could prepare better financal packages for the players that wouldnt break our pay structure such as the Mata deal.

Thanks

PB

Ed ..................... {Ed002's Note - I have explained the position with Hazard. M'Vila was watched last weekend. That is where the club is right now.}

i think mata will be a great signing a hope chelsea get modric moutinho and portos wing back periera and a would try and bring in a rw player like hazard or even hulk am sure he could be persuaded by avb

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I don't think it's Hulk who needs persuading. If Chelsea were to approach, I think the only stumbling block would be Porto's valuations (quite a big stumbling block) and the fact that they have lost Falcao already. The player would come willingly I believe.

Cech

Luiz Cahill Terry Cole

Ramires Lampard Mata

Sturridge Torres Hazard

Ins: Hazard (£23.5M) Mata (£26M) Cahill (£22M) Lukakau (£18M) Oriol (£4.5M) Courtois (£9M)

Outs: Mancienne (£3M) Zhirkov (£13M) Kalou (£10M) Alex (£10M) Anelka (£12M)

I would prefer Anelka to stay and Malouda to go, however he seems determined to stay at the club. This will be Lampard's last season having a regular role in the team. With Alex leaving, a replacement will be brought in. Now i would like to see one of 2 things happen, 1. Rajkovic is granted his work permit. 2. We sign Gary Cahill from Bolton, who would also be a perfect replacement for when Terry retires. I have put Luiz at right back, as all though Bosingwa has had a decent enough start to the season, i think he is lacking in the defensive department. Also Luiz loves to get forward and at CB, it leaves us vulnerable on the counter. I have put our newest signing (depending on medical and personal discussions) in our midfield. I've gone for this as i think he will work better than Modric in this position, and Modric would mean splashing out around £30-35M. I would also like to see the signing to Hazard. With Mata playing in the middle, we would still need a left winger. Now, unlike Malouda, Hazard has the ability to beat a player, and get crosses into the box for Torres to get on the end of.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Thats a good team, but there is no protect for the defence. The lampard and mata are attacking players and ramires is not a defensive midfielder, need oriol

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramires can and did play holding. hes so quick in front of the defence i think hes our best bet

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't recall ramires ever playing in the holding role for us, he has always been to the right of either essien, mikel or mceachran.
