How I love the Champions League. I miss those nights so much.

Still not to worry, we will be back in the competition 25/ 26.

a joy to watch games played at that level.

Not with poch as the coach Tom.

Tusole, I hope he extends his contract for that season because it would mean we would have been successful.

Tom, I hope I win the lottery, it will mean I am rich.

Without hope what’s the point in waking up!

Tom, we all hope Chelsea can be successful but the issue is: can we be with the current coach and squad, imo the answer is no. If Poch remains as coach next season I will lose hope.

It could well be that if Poch is manager next year we will have qualified for Europe by either league position or winning the FA cup. So, I prefer to live in hope.

Tom

If Poch surives onto next season surely that is just kicking the can down the road as I'm sure during the season we will be having the conversation about obtaining a new coach and during the season as we found out with Potter it's a very difficult thing to achieve.

Bill, I didn’t want Poch as our coach for lots of reasons but the vast majority on this site said he would be a fantastic appointment. A significant amount of those pro Poch posters mentioned how important it was to give him time to work with a very young squad.

Absolutely some might say that he has had enough time and there has been little or no progress but I think there has been reasonable reasons for that progress to have been delayed and I also believe it can take players time to settle into a club and the premiership. I remember well Drogba’s and Lamps first seasons and they were less than brilliant.

Putting aside the guy from Feyenoord, I’m struggling to see any decent, available alternatives anyway and as I always say things can get worse.

I don’t mind be a lone ish voice in saying he should be given more time. After all I was pretty much a lone voice when I said I didn’t want him as manager and that this season would be tough.

Fair enough Tom, I was one who thought Poch would work.

Maybe we bite our tongues and give him the whole of next season if we allow him passed the start of the season.

Once the season starts its practically impossible to source an ideal coach as a replacement.

Bill, I’m not sure if this is any consolation to you and some others but at my mates monthly season ticket holder bash yesterday (still not drinking) one of the guys who usually has good info said he was toast.

Cheers for the info Tom, Poch egg on toast it is.

Bill, I think like all supporters he has a biased opinion. He has always disliked Poch.

I just can’t see how the club could sack him if we qualify for Europe.

Looks like we are going to miss them long term.

Tom, like you I didn’t want Poch and I said so. It had nothing to do with his Spurs connection- that would be silly. It was because of his track record and lack of achievements. Quite simply, I don’t think he is a good coach and at this stage of his career there is no reason to suppose that will change. If the club pull the trigger, I am sure there will be a number of options under consideration.

11 Apr 2024 18:57:24
Jimbo, maybe there will be options and I hope they choose wisely because five managers going into there third season isn’t a good look.

18.) 11 Apr 2024
11 Apr 2024 20:21:13
Tom, changing managers is always a risk and as you say things can get worse but at the moment I can’t see any direction. Also, as in life in general, things get get better. I believe there are coaches out there that could improve things. I’m not worried about the look .

19.) 11 Apr 2024
11 Apr 2024 20:54:03
Jimbo, very true a change of manager could make things worse or better.
I guess the difference is, I think they can get better under Poch.

I’m sure our club will always find an alternative manager when needed but so far there choices haven’t worked out but what do I know because I would have kept Potter, reduced a bloated squad and given him a pre season with new players.

11 Apr 2024 21:32:28
Tom, the board were right to get rid of Potter, he was awful. He was overhyped and was found out. Doubt he will get another big job. Probably, the right candidate to f**k up as England coach to follow in the footsteps of Southgate.

21.) 11 Apr 2024
11 Apr 2024 21:55:45
I think Potter could end up at Utd.

22.) 12 Apr 2024
12 Apr 2024 00:22:01
Tom, I doubt that Potter will end up at Man U. I don’t think the new ownership would be that stupid.

I thought the same about Poch.
