This lad Hato will surprise a lot people. He is a talent but I hope we can "gradually" integrate him into the premiership. He can play in two positions but I guess he will be used more as a LB for now. He is quick enough and has a good eye for a forward pass.

I'm staggered that the scousers haven't tried harder to sign him. That's if the rumours were true about them being interested.

{Ed001's Note - we already have 3 first team senior left backs and there is no way he is going to play in place of Virgil. We never tried at all. He is a Liverpool fan, close friends with Gravenberch, but there is just no place for him.}

Ed, I see him eventually becoming a CH. I wouldn’t have a clue about how long VVD will be playing for Liverpool but I would have got Hato or the lad who went to Madrid as a long term replacement for him.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so Tom but I would ignore your opinion as you constantly claim ignorance about other teams, so how would you know what would be best for Liverpool?}

I haven’t claimed ignorance of Hato as virtually forced (haha) to watch Dutch and German football. As I’ve always the main reason said I rate Hato very highly.

You are correct about me not knowing what’s best for Liverpool.

E001, not having a place for a player has never stopped Chelsea. lol. TBF, I am happy enough with our signings so far. I wanted a CB and Hato looks like a decent signing. As for Simons he is a good player but I am not clear where he fits in although we don’t not really have what I would describe as an attacking midfielder but please no more forwards especially the one that cannot be named. If we go into next season with Sanchez as our No 1, I will be disappointed. He had a few decent games towards the end of the season but even then he continued to make errors; he is a long way off being a top keeper. It’s strange because we clearly made inquiries about Maignan which indicates that there is a feeling that Sanchez needs to be replaced but it’s gone quiet since then.

{Ed001's Note - Hato is a very good player but you didn't need him either. Simons though, if you mean Xavi Simons, I don't see the hype with him. He has ability but no brains to use it and I do not rate him.}

I have to disagree about Simmons and I see him as a AM/ winger.

I also rate Gittens. Very direct and likes to take on a shot from distance. My only criticism of him was he needs to learn to play with his head up. My old coach Joe Broadfoot used to say “play with head up and have a picture of the pitch before you receive the ball. ”

No guarantees but I think both will become fan’s favourites.

Ed001, to some extent it may depend on outgoings. Leaving aside the obvious players we want to move on there could be some unexpected sales to balance the transfer book- still a month left in the window.
