Xavi Simons ✅️
Jorrel Hato ✅️

Another two strong signings for the blues by our sporting directors who may just be the best in world football.

Tosin 30m profit
Viega 30m profit
Jackson 70m profit

And already got 20m profit from madueke. Unbelievable from our SD and what's even better? The silence from those on here whinging the last year. we all know who those are or. were. Don't hear a wink from them anymore

Up the blues.

Our SDs are the best in world football Lol. We haven’t signed Simons or Hato. Nor have we sold Jackson or Tosin. To make £70 million on Jackson we would have to sell him for over £100 million: no club would would pay anything close to that.

That's the asking price. These sporting directors have some backbone don't they. Jackson is available for 100m i read so that profit of 70m is huge! Smart signing

Even reading that we will make make 20m on sterling sale, which actually results in a profit also (£1m) a small one, but a profit nonetheless.

You not happy with our recent success jimbo?

Gold Standard

Of course all fans will be happy with our clubs recent success and obtaining a CL spot however you are totally wrong if you think Jackson will be bought for anything like the £100mil, you mentioned.

I agree we will probably make a profit on Tosin and Veiga but failed to mention Felix, Nunku, Chilly, KDH, Chucka to name but a few.

Sterling, don't get me started on him although I will give the owners some leeway as he was bought when they first took over when being wrongly advised by an advisor/ advisors.

By the way GoldStandard, both Jimbo and I are always on here through both good and bad times. The rest were pushed away from the site.

Can't remember seeing you on here unless under another name.

Posters should always be able to post both positive and negative comments and admit when they are wrong and hold their hands up like I did when things changed by the end of the season.

By the way I must have missed when we signed Hato and Simmons, was it during g the night while I was sleeping?
.

FurthermoreGoldStandard it looks like the Veiga to AM has broken down so you jumped the gun again on another £30mil incoming and now the SD's will have an unhappy player to deal with. That being said, I'm glad the SD's did not roll over and get their belly tickled like they normally do.

Hi GoldStandard – you're not the same person as Standard, presumably?

For all these sales, you're only currently talking about possibilities. All the prices we've quoted are what we would like in an ideal world, but all the clubs watching know that we need to sell a good number of these players, so it seems like they have the advantage, not us. We might well be able to pull United's pants down because they're hapless, but notice how we were reportedly asking £50 million for Nkunku at the start of the summer and that price seems to have dropped by around half due to the lack of interest. So perhaps that says quite a lot. And he still isn't sold.

Personally I wouldn't see the logic of selling Tosin. He seems well-liked in the dressing room, is a bit older and calmer – a gel player who helps those around him. It's like Chalobah – who our 'best in the world' SDs have been trying to flog for two years now. Would we have made CL last season if we hadn't been able to recall him from Palace? Doubtful. And what a mess we'd have been in then.

We haven't sold Sterling. Just set a price of £20 million. If it doesn't happen, is that good business? We bought him for £50 million, so how would selling him for £20 million result in a profit? Madueke sold for a profit, fine. But if he strengthens Arsenal, a direct rival, next season is that good business?

You're excited over the transfer of Hato (could be a good player), but a young left-back blocks the path of Ishé Samuels-Smith. So what is the logic? Is 'best in the world' spunking money left and right and hoping something works? Simmons is certainly exciting, but rumblings around his attitude at Dortmund – a familiar question with the players we've been buying. Excellent when things are going well, not so much mental fortitude when they're not (see the big collapse before Christmas last year) .

We're currently going into next season with Sanchez as our first-choice goalkeeper. We have have about a million keepers on our books and just sold the one who was best last season. I think before giving it the big one about the genius of the SDs let's see what happens this season. Their third season in situ is probably a good time to start thinking if they're good at their jobs. Estêvão could be incredible and, in tandem with Palmer, fire us high up the league. Or we could well look like a bit of a disjointed mess again, as we did at various points last season, with prima donna attitudes outweighing the few with real grit. I'll hope for the former – that first 45 minutes against PSG was really something. But at the moment it's still only 45 minutes, and we did start many games like that last season only to fade hard. The optimism is the second half, where we weathered the storm. A bit more like that and we're getting somewhere.

Like all clubs we will sell some players for a profit and some for a loss.
The issue I have with these sort of debates is when a poster or posters suggests we have “blown” £1.5bn.
The jury will be out for some time yet on our transfer policy, signings and sales but one thing is certain, we have made mistakes.

We all have our different valuations of players and they rarely have little resemblance to the market valuations. We also have rags like the Mail suggesting that we have valued the likes of Jackson at £100m. This would only matter if we were going to sell him and I personally hope we don’t, unless we are getting Sesko.

I looks like KDH will be going to Fulham, probably on loan with an option to buy. I would rather we loan Chuka because I personally rate him but he may well be sold but I have no idea if that will be a book profit or loss. Veiga is apparently well wanted so I guess we make money in that sale. Felix, Sterling and Chilly I would have a clue what there value is and I will leave it to the accountants to see if Thanet can be made out to be a so called “book profit, ” I have my doubts.

On a positive note Hato is a talent and can play LB and CH so he will balance the squad/ defence on the left had side. Simpson in my opinion is a good player who can play wide or in midfield and don’t be shepherd pushes Palmer for a starting position.

Our squad is potentially a lot stronger than last season but after this summer’s transfer window, other clubs will be a lot stronger.

24 Jul 2025 10:21:11
Simpson Tom? Not Homer Simpson to attract more American fans by any chance?

No clearly the typo/ autocorrect got you as it often does me and it's Simmons you're referring to and we will obviously hope he can be a good signing if he joins us, as we hope with all new signings.

Otherwise I'd recommoned caution about any talk about profits and 'best ever' in any transfer window until its over.

9.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 10:59:04
JBS, you are correct about judging a transfer P/ L when the windows close. I would add just one other thing. I would judge a business P/ L over a much longer period. I would suggest 3-5 seasons.

10.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 11:09:20
This post started with Goldstandard trying to goad some posters and I have never even seen this poster before, anybody else heard of him/ her.

11.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 13:26:58
Bill, old or new posters giving an opinion should all be welcome.

Just one point and I wouldn’t have a clue how the numbers stack up but I would think it’s 50/ 50 on negative and positive posters being “driven” from this site.

I personally consider it all just to be banter ish.

12.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 14:37:33
Tom

I agree both negative and positive posters have left but I was coming back on GoldStandard insinuating that the so called negative posters have left because all is rosy with our SD's according to him/ her.

Posters like myself will be both positive and negative depending what's happening within our club.

I'm happy that we did well winning trophies and obtaing CL however still negative regarding a lack of FOS and no movement as yet in what's happening with SB/ a move away.

Anyway, GoldStandard hot ot wrong as we have nit yet signed Hato or Simmons and now the Veiga deal has collapsed.

13.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 14:46:46
This site was mostly unbearable last season, so I was one of the ones driven away only sparingly posting. Anything positive is glossed over and any tiny molehill is made out to be a mountain to lambast Maresca, the SD’s and owners which is just tiresome. People are free to express any opinion positive or negative but having the same negative view reposted, almost word for word, on every post just ruins the entire Chelsea board imo.

The attack on GoldStandard above is completely unwarranted. Regardless of whether they’re a new or old poster under a new name, more engagement and differing views should be embraced not attacked.

14.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 15:07:07
There will always be posters (lurkers) who can’t wait to make “I told you so comments” and although not deliberate, I’m sure that I’ve done it.

Who on earth cares about any of it. It’s just a bunch of people guessing and giving there opinions about a game!

Of course, Chelsea being club world champions makes our supporters opinions far more relevant. ??.

15.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 15:57:05
No problem Fuser, hope you are back on the site regularly going forward, we need posters with differing views, it what makes the site more interesting.

I should point out that GoldStandard started this by hoading so called negative posters, he or she did it need to start the thread in that manner therefore I make no apologies for having a go back at him/ her.

16.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 17:09:45
Just to be clear. I think the SDs have done a good job so far in signings this summer- a big improvement from last year. If we can get Hato, a keeper and move. players on I will be very pleased. Let’s hope they don’t balls it up by signing Garnacho. As for the being the best SDs in world football, I think Liverpool fans might disagree ; looks like they will snap up Isak.

17.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 17:45:16
Surely to God goldstandard has to be standard. Who left the site recently.

Or am I the only one who is suspicious ? ?.

18.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 17:46:06
Fuser, good to hear from you again. I have been very critical of the SDs and imo rightly so. Myself and other posters have been proved right about some of their signings. That said, as you will see from my earlier post I think they have done a good job so far in this window. As for Maresca, I too criticised him. A lot of the football was predictable and his tactics were rigid during the season. However, in the last quarter of the season things improved considerably. If we can continue to play as we did in the CWC, I will be happy but I am still on the fence about him: next season will be a big test. As for Goldstar being “ attacked”, I disagree ; the posters were simply pointing out the factual inaccuracies regarding players he said we have signed and sold and the fees involved .

19.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 20:03:31
There are very few players or managers over the years that the club has signed that would be my first choice but regardless of me thinking they are c#ap players or managers, I want to be proved wrong not right. I would like to think that is the same for all fans.

Welcome to our site Goldstandard. There is no way think you are the legend that was Standard.

20.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 20:48:48
Tom, it’s not a question about being proved right or wrong: it’s a question of expressing your opinion because you want the club to succeed. Unfortunately, I have been proved right more often than wrong imo.

21.) 24 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 22:04:22
Jimbo, yes that is your opinion and your without doubt entitled to it.

As I say it’s very rare that I’m happy with any player signings or manager appointments but I’m over the moon when I’m proved wrong not right and that’s me expressing my opinion.

22.) 25 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 23:10:14
Tom, I would much prefer to be proven wrong but it’s very frustrating when you know you are right from the outset.

23.) 25 Jul 2025
24 Jul 2025 23:45:42
I thought the same CFC blueblood. Jimbo, your claim that you have been proved right more times than you have been proved wrong is surely subjective? Bill, surely this site should welcome every opinion whether positive or negative? After all, we all support the chels and we all celebrate being serial trophy winners don't we?

24.) 25 Jul 2025
25 Jul 2025 06:37:18
I've been proven right about everything I have an opinion on.

Or do I just think I am always right and bend the truth to meet my agenda.

I know what my Mrs would say.

25.) 25 Jul 2025
25 Jul 2025 06:38:21
Greenaway, it’s my subjective view that you are correct.

26.) 25 Jul 2025
25 Jul 2025 08:56:22
Greenaway

I totally agree about supporting all posters however when they say si and so has signed and that certain players are gone for certain amounts even though the deals have not yet been done ie Veiga, which fell through in any case.

My main point was that he said negative posters don't come on as we are doing well. Once again, total garnish.

As Tom correctly pointed out, both positive and negative posters have left which is why it was good to see Fuser back, hopefully on a regular basis.
