Does anyone think we should be looking at Welbeck as our 3rd striker - Homegrown, works hard, prepared to be a squad player.

He's a squad player at United, and isn't that why perhaps he'd want a move?
It's not a bad option as 2nd or 3rd choice. But I'd rather the club would look to Vela.

Welbeck is better option than Destro, so I don't see what's to wonder about? Destro is 4th or 5th option striker in Italian squad.

I'm going to be honest and haven't seen destro play but hopefully we do sign him as he's young and will be an improvement on Torres.

You get these people judging players on a few appearances and chn I believe you are doing exactly that. Instead why don't we wait and see if he does come to chelsea and at mid way through the season or at the end of the season the people that haven't seen him play already can share their opinions on how we think he has done.

I'd rather have 4th/5th choice striker for Italy than 3rd/4th choice striker for England. Welbeck may not have had the opportunity to play upfront much but from what I've seen he can't finish to save his life.

I simply don't fall for exotic names . I would prefer Welbeck as proven English international. Also I prefer second choice player to 4th choice player.
And the most important thing is that Torres has to accept move.

One more thing. Why would Chelsea pay 25m€ for lower ranked player than Balotelli 20m€-LFC, Imobille 18m€-BVB or Cerci still available if Chelsea is so desperately looking to sign Italian striker.

I'd rather be 10th choice in Italian squad then have any embarrassment of being in our petty English squad. No offence destro is a decent player, works hard.

Apparently he had a fantastic season last season, I believe he was Roma's top scorer, and Roma were strong.
Welbeck is overrated because he plays for Man U, he is not good, We need to move Torres on, and Destro is 23, he will push Costa and provide better cover.

{Ed018's Note - I agree. I haven't seen much of Destro but I trust Chelsea know what they are doing here. I don't want Welbeck anywhere near Chelsea. Not near good enough}

Sorry Chn but what world do you live in. Welbeck is not 2nd choice for England. In fact I can't even remember a game where Welbeck has played up top. Rooney, Sturridge and even Lambert have all been preferred to him.
And to your other point about why we didn't go for other Italian strikers, what's the point in having even the world's best striker if he doesn't fit into our system. I trust that JM and the Chelsea staff have scouted and found the player that they feel will come in, adapt well to the league and also fit into the system and style of football we want to play.

Instead of saying I have a faulty memory why not actually state a time and game when Welbeck has started up front. I have no idea if Destro will fit in. But I trust Chelsea and JM, and they obviously believe he will.
Also 99.9% of the things you've said have turned out to be BS.

I see 1 reasonable argument fron chn point of view. Balotelli is just 20mil, why would we buy Destro for more than that if Balotelli was the first choice in Italian squad. The problem about our strike force is so obvious, Chelsea must have solved it long time before this happened.
