Oh wow well, performance-wise that was really really poor, we looked lost from minute 1, there was maybe 6 players who were maybe 5/10, Bournemouth tactically killed us,
Palmer was so deep first half, I get he likes to be ok the ball but that's really not his game, needs to be in ask around the box, then moved wide later in game, we seemed lost of ideas and went long, going long to ivanovic and alonso in the past is fine, not to cucurella and Neto, sancho looked good, Sanchez made some big saves, notably the penalty save, I look at this team / squad / set up, we lack muscle and strength and power
Also, I think that's the worst refereeing performance in a long time, not as in one massive error but the inconsistency was laughable then infuriating.

Todd, it strikes fear in my heart every time I see Taylor named as our ref. Not a really bad tackle in the game and he manages to dish out 13 yellow cards.
Let me also say in fairness some of the bookings for petulant behaviour just showed a lack of player discipline.

It was disjointed, certainly, but I’d rate a number of players more than 5.
I thought Sanchez had a good game, Colwill and Cucurella too - although the last should’ve been sent off. Caicedo did well as the game went on and Vega looks capable of being a backup option in midfield.
Of the subs, Sancho was impressive - lots of subtle touches and threat. Toisin looked calm and made some good decisions. Obviously Nkunku scored, but didn’t really have time to make a case overall.
Of the others, Disasi looked like a square peg and Fofana was sloppy. Neto and Madueke struggled to get going and I thought Palmer and Jackson looked 5% off it.
Not a great performance against a good Bournemouth side, but happy with the in and the clean sheet.

Tom it was 14 cards! Smash and grab by us today. Have given my view in detail on Teams and Match Play so won't repeat here.

JBS, thanks for correction. I lost count.
My match summary is in the same place as yours and we obviously saw the match in the same way.

Some of the cards were soft but really players must learn to keep their mouths shut, getting a number of cards for dissent is poor discipline and not a good example from the coach.

FD77, just to add, I thought Veiga performed very well for the most part, particularly in the second half. But it certainly wasn’t an inspiring performance by the team as a whole. But hey, the best teams manage to scrape wins at their worst. So hopefully better times ahead.

Only saw the highlights I hope this is the keeper's form in the future any win after an international break is always a good win. In glimpses Sancho looked if he could be a useful addition.

Seymns, maybe the recall to the Spanish squad has boosted his confidence.
The Sancho performance was interesting. They changed FB’s and the instruction was obviously to keep tight to him but he seemed to enjoy the close attention. If more teams use the same tactic I can massive gaps behind the opposing FB being exploited.

Drop Jackson and the team changes.

Yep, it wouldn’t have Jackson in there team.

For me it’s not about dropping Jackson; it’s about giving Nkunku some starts. He looks like he has goals in him.
