Anyone concerned about the lack of chances sauls got so far, coasting v Norwich and Malmö and gets 15 minuets.

He can impress us in midweek.

Not at all, he's a loan player. I'd rather players we own get minutes. He also was awful in the 15min when he came on the other day. He's not going to make it at Chelsea at this rate.

Tbh, Saul hasn't done enough every time he has had a chance. Imo RLC and Barkely offer more right now.

I'm with dadubliner. No reason for concern, he's a low risk loan signing that isn't likely to be signed.

With Saul it’s early days and I still think there is time for him to make a significant contribution.

We are often far to quick to dismiss players!

Just maybe, him being in the squad is making every other midfield player lift his game!

Couldn't care less to be honest.
RLC is ahead of him and rightly so. Even Barkley has shown his usefulness more.

FA Cup and League Cup are good games for him to get minutes.

Agreed Ashk1. My lad watches a lot of Spanish football and he said that this boy has been out of form for months.

I care because I want him to be successful for us and he is our player for at least a season.

I don’t care about his form at AM and I hope he gets mins in the games for us that are are coming thick and fast.

Obviously I’m happy that RLC is playing well, I just think Saul has the attributes previously to be a good player. I don’t think 15mins cameos are anything to judge a player by. CHO had plenty of 15 mins cameos last season and lots of people on here were saying we should loan him out cos he wasn’t playing well.

TomB I’m a wee bit off-hand re your posting. Something you do not deserve. Let me try and be a little more expansive on Saul. For a Spanish international he looks like a rabbit in the headlights, he lacks a natural intent on the pitch, he looks robotic and stiff. Add to that imo at this moment in time Chelsea are the perfect team to play for if you are lacking in confidence. The whole team is playing with a swagger, a determination and with an intent to score goals, not to lose goals and not be beaten at anything whether it be headers, blocks, tackles, passes. Also For Saul, there is the small matter that he is on loan and next season remembering Gallagher will be back as Palace’s POY I do not think that there will be any extension for the lad. So every game counts.
Changing tact slightly, I have came on here many a time and panned the team even after a win, but I’ve got to say as bad as Norwich were, and they were bad, Chelsea were terrific today. I would give left CHO on the pitch, and I would have started RLC, but no complaints really. However I would ask for a touch of reality as Chelsea fans we have to remember Chelsea got schooled by City only a few weeks ago. Now, it might work out that Chelsea win the title without beating City. Would I take that? Absolutely.

Stephen, the thing about Saul is he is just as you describe “a rabbit caught in the headlights” bu that can often happen when a player moves from one league to another in particular when it’s the Premiership.

I doubt he has played 200 mins of first team team football and less than half of that in the Premiership. So, I will be patient and judge him at the end of the season.

The club was I guess was judging Gallacher in part on his performances last season and for me he worked hard but was was headless. This season he is working under a manager who totally understands his playing position and Gallacher certainly looks to be more of the finished article. It’s a case of a loan working for the player and his parent club.

The reality of our performance against City is still fresh in my mind but I think in our games against them last lesson we played well against them but our good performances against them didn’t stop them winning the league.

Why be concerned about Saul? He's only on loan, and quite frankly he's been incredibly poor whenever he got on the pitch.

Because it will be to our advantage if he turns out to be a class player.

I think it’s too early to right off Saul: true he was out of form at AM but he had an issue with DS just like Rudiger and Frank. As for suggesting Barkley has a long term future at Chelsea, no way: how long before he is caught staggering out of a night club. I’m not sure about RLC even when fit he is not consistent but let’s hope I’m wrong about that. Let’s be realistic the team who started today would not be the the same lineup to face, Man City, Liverpool, Man U or Juve.

Fuser very good point, I agree you can’t judge Saul on approximately 90 minutes. It’s a long season so we may well need a player of his style. Reece was great today, even leaving aside his goal.
