Shame to loose both strikers last night. But, if you're going to loose these players, now is as good a time as any to be without them.

With all due respect to our upcoming opponents, we've got a decent run of fixtures now. Probably be good for Lukaku to get a bit of rest and come back firing in a couple of weeks.

Hudson-Odoi, Havertz and Ziyech should all see opportunities to step up now. Maybe Pulisic too, if he can get himself fit.

That's right J, but this run of fixtures is a good opportunity for us to get our attack going and make it click.
So even though we might be ok in terms of results, but I think it will hurt us to be without Lukaku and Werner.

We obviously have to make do with what we have, and this will be an opportunity for Kai and Callum which I hope they will take, but clearly our attacking options reduced for now. Given Lukaku's early departure from the Belgian squad and fact that he played v Brentford there was a strong case for resting him v minnows Malmo who offered v little save some nasty fouls, including the one on RL. Looked like a Pen and a red card offense to me.

I think the player getting a touch on the ball saved him from the red card. But yes, I would have rested Lukaku for that one - hindsight, the perfect science.

The defender was done all ends up. It was a wretched dangerous last ditch lunge tackle behind. Red card all day, and as he intended it injured the striker.

i agree Stephen, he wrapped his legs round Rom's always making a twisted ankle/ leg injury a high possibility.
