So it seems like Kounde's off the table. Reports coming out that Sevilla have suddenly increased their asking price after Zouma's deal to West Ham was concluded.

If true, it's a shame Sevilla decided to handle it this way. But I can't see Chelsea caving to their increased demands.

Think if another transfer happens this summer it will be Saul. But there's a good chance it'll be just Lukaku brought in.

Yes it's a shame that Sevilla handed it like this, if the reports are true.
I'm wondering if Sarr or Ampadu - or maybe both - will now stay with us?
But actually I'd still be very satisfied if we only get Lukaku. Of course Koundé and Saúl are both interesting players, same goes for some of the others we've been linked to, like Tchouameni. We're quite lucky, however, that our squad is already really, really good - we don't have to buy just for the sake of it, and can allow ourselves to be picky. And if we don't spend more money now, I guess it just means that we can spend the money later on!

I’m sure our will only pay the amount we value him at.

It will be a shame because in my opinion the lad is a good player but if it doesn’t happen then I’m sure Chalaboa will do a fantastic job when called upon.

No doubt Kounde would have been a great addition, but its certainly not the end of the world if he doesn't arrive. And I can't see us just bending over to Sevilla's demands.

We already have Christensen, Silva, Rudiger, Azpi, Chalobah and even Reece james capable of filling the CB spots.

My main concern is still the midfield, as I mentioned earlier.

But if no more signings arrive, we can't complain as we've addressed our main weakness by bringing in a world class striker in Lukaku.

I think that Chelsea should try to find a middle ground on the extra fee (£13m) that was added by Sevilla rather than call off the deal completely; Jules Kounde is a very good player that is not worth missing out on. I read that Bordeaux has a percentage of Kounde’s transfer fee and Sevilla is looking at buying a replacement too- hence the need why Chelsea should see things a bit from Sevilla’s angle by not calling off the deal and try to find a middle ground on the additional sum. All negotiation strategies: I think Chelsea will buy Kounde.

Yes Bobby you’re right, the main concern is the midfield, it will strain us if we go into the season without adding another central midfielder, unless Chelsea has decided to go with Ampadu and Loftus Cheek as options.

If the reports are true and we had a verbal agreement with Sevilla, then I don’t think we should look for middle ground or any compromise. Having said that I generally don’t believe the vast majority of press reports.

Ha getting any midfielder through the door now seem unlikely. I’m happy to wait and you never know we may well end up with Rice next season.

{Ed002's Note - I am afraid it is not simply the money.}

Interesting Ed. I won’t ask the obvious. Thanks for the
clarification.
