Interesting situation with our three goalkeepers after today's signing.

Looking ahead, AFCON will mean we will be without Mendy for a period of time, so Kepa / Bettinelli seems sound enough to me. I read that Bettinelli classes as a Homegrown player for the CL, so that’s a bonus.

I also saw that Jamie Cumming has gone out on loan, which will hopefully help his development.

I do not have confidence in kepa in the absence of Mendy, will have to wait to see the new guy.

I wouldn’t mind bringing Sergio Romero in as second choice goalkeeper and moving Kepa on although no one wants him obviously.

Romero was very good as back up at United and got really annoyed at not getting a transfer once Dean Henderson came back.

Good post and very good points in my opinion Steve_B.

Maybe Kepa will find a new home in this window but I have my doubts and to be fair, when called upon last season he was generally ok.

Anyway, we now continue to have alternatives.

Weren't Lazio interested in Kepa? Hasn't Kepa just openly apologized to Sarri for the cup final substitution fiasco? Isn't Sarri now head coach at Lazio?
