ED002- I don't mean to bother you and I'm conscious you are probably fed up of Haaland questions.
If I could ask one last one from my end; based off your knowledge of the situation of the discussions which have been had between all three parties, does that information lead you to believe that Chelsea will sign the player as things stand?

Hi BlueDay. I obviously have 0 knowledge of the situation myself beyond what is being reported etc. But I would advise you to just expect no deal for Haaland to happen this summer. Deals of such magnitude don't happen all that often for a reason, the money involved is ridiculous.

Not to say it cannot happen, but I would expect the chances of it happening to be extremely slim at best. Don't get caught up in all the rumors would be my advice, you'll be happier for it. Expect us to go into the season with largely the same squad as last season.

I would rather the club buy nobody than panic and sign below par players just to say they've brought in reinforcements. I like Bakayoko, but the club have been trying to shift him for years now and can't get him off the books. Drinkwater even worse. He was a horrible mistake. Zappacosta same as Bakayoko.

It would be better to give an opportunity to a young player like Broja or Gallagher than it would be to buy a Drinkwater level player just to "back" Tuchel in the market. Chelsea has one of the biggest talent pools in the world with the Cobham academy. The youth system is stacked. Need some winger depth? You've got Vale, a hugely talented player. Need some added CB depth? Mbuyamba's there for a game here or there. CM? Gallagher, Ampadu, Chalobah are right there already on your books. Wingback depth? Dujon Sterling's there. He might not be Hakimi level (well we know he isn't), but he's a top tier athlete, and wingback's a position where being an supreme athlete can already give you a nice platform (see also Adama Traoré) . It's worth it giving him a chance to be backup to Reece on the right.

All to say, if you're buying players, make sure it's top level talents and not some mediocre fallback option. If you can't get your top targets, just trust your own. Didn't work out too badly during the transfer ban season, trusting Tammy (topscorer in PL over last 2 seasons despite almost 0 time under Tuchel), Mount (MVP last season in my opinion), Reece, and even Gilmour the few times he got to play (he damn near every match was among our best players, and that too against opposition like Pool, City, Arsenal etc. )

I agree we should not panic buy but we need to improve the squad. Let’s not forget we ended up with just 2 more points than West Ham and 5 points ahead of Spurs; that is not good enough and the academy players mentioned aren’t going to change that.

Totally spot on Jackson.

I would be happy if we didn't get any new players. Even though I think adding Rice would solve lots of problems for us, I am ready to trust Ampadu, Gallagher or Chalobah. Hey, maybe even RLC can play a role for us.

Failing to back Conte meant we didn't kick on.
Now doing the same with Tuchel.
The club have not learnt a thing. Stop penny-pinching and pay asking prices. Stop pricing players out of moves.
We'll be hearing Bakayoko and Drinkwater are like new signings next. Shambles.
