The top 5 in the PL will qualify for the CL this season.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

I think I am correct in saying, if we win the Champions League and Utd win the Europa League with us finishing outside the top four then only the top three would qualify for next season’s Champions league.

If we lose the Champions League then it’s the top four spots that qualify.

Only five teams from any country can qualify for the Champions League competition.

I hope that makes sense.

In the first scenario, the top 4 and Chelsea would still qualify because utd would be one of the top 4 and that would be five teams. The scenario where only the top 3 qualified was if utd won the europa league and Chelsea won the champions league and both finished out side the top 4.

eden, Utd can’t finish outside the top four.

No, exactly, so the top 4 will qualify even if Chelsea win the champions league and finish outside the top 4 and utd win the europa league. The only scenario 4th wouldn't qualify would of been if arsenal had won the europa league, Chelsea the champions league and both finished out side the top 4,but obviously that can't happen, so the top 4 will qualify.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United winning the Europa League makes no difference. Chelsea would qualify if they won the Champions League and finished outside of the top four.}

Ok thanks Ed.

So just to clarify, if Chelsea win the Champions League and finish outside the top four and Man Utd win the Europa then only the first three in the Premiership qualify for next season’s Champions League?

{Ed002's Note - No, Manchester United have already qualified for the Champions League.}
