Having not heard from my good friend Olive for a good few weeks I called her last night, she had just finished a long shift and was tired but did tell me Boubakary Soumaré is a name she has heard mentioned in the last day or so! Been lots of talk involving player departures, mainly loan requests so expect more outs than ins leading upto the window closing. just thought I would share.

Honestly, if Rice is viewed as a CB target then Soumare would make a whole lot of sense as a DM target. Absolutely massive talent both physically and technique wise on the ball.

De javu, I am not surprised his name came up. Soumare is a good player and can improve at Chelsea if the club decides to go after either. Fingers crossed.

Soumare is head and shoulders ahead of Rice imo and is probably more gettable.

On comparing Soumare to Rice: I can't tell the qualities that Lampard is looking for in his DM, but I feel the fee that either player (Declan Rice or Soumare) commands should eventually be a determinant factor to picking who is suitable.
Personally, I think if we judge both players purely on footballing qualities of a DM, I think Soumare has the edge over Declan Rice; although, besides Declan Rice been a home grown player, I feel adaptation to a new league could also be a factor that could work against Soumare (that is if he doesn't hit the ground running) .
