So what is our best central defensive pairing or do we need to play 3 in a back 5 against City?

I still don't know the best CB pairing unfortunately. I would think Zouma has the slightest of edge over the rest.

I don't feel any pairing would be able to control City in my opinion. Kante will have to have a massive say and help the CB's massively.

I'd like to see us try Tomori and Zouma again.

I’m not convinced about any of our centre backs but putting aside Christensen going to sleep for the Villa goal, he might be the one I would stick with as a first choice

I’m hopeful that Tomori will show some me something more than pace.

Not having a natural left footer at CB IMO also causes problems.

Maybe I would have given Dave a game as a left sided CB.

I think I would probably go for Christiansen and Zouma right now as I think Tomori carrying an injury though great potential. Kurt can look awkward at times with ball at feet but Tony not great today. There have been so. many changes and this perhaps shows that be Frank is as unsure as I am right now!

Zouma and Tomori like when we had our good run of form. Just one poor game against Ajax and hasn’t been tried since.

I think our best pairing would be christensen and zouma with tomori as a back up. Rudiger to be used only during emergency time. I would rather have Ampadu back in CB if we can't but anyone in summer and sell rudiger. He is not up to it. Plain and simple. Ed001 your thoughts please.

{Ed001's Note - I am not a fan of Rudiger, he gets worse every time you see him play. I would definitely look to offload him as he is making a bad situation worse with his lack of intelligence.}

Fully agree ed001. Hope and pray Lampard sees the reality and benches him for next match. It's bloody city for god sake! They will run circles around him😭
Also hope he is sold and replaced by a competent CB this summer.
