What players out there are leaders that we should look to sign? We've got 4 decent centre backs but not one leader? So for me one has to go.

Ruben Dias and Upamecano both look quality young players but are they players that we could look to sign and come in and make a big difference? I think personally a proper holding midfielder would make a big difference and a goalkeeper that would come and claim crosses. They would take some pressure off the defence.

50 million for an average player like Mings no thank you! Rudiger shouts a lot doesn’t mean he’s a good defender.

Ruben Dias has got the leader in him even though he’s young he’s be the one I’d go for if we go in the market for a CB.

u say mings is average but your rating dias so highly even do uv probably only seen him a handfull of times and he plays in a terrible league week in week out there's no gaurentee hel turn out any better than mings if we signed him.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, saying Mings is average is probably overrating him....}

Ed001, I'd be interested to know who you think meets the criteria of being a decent CB and leader, who might also be available in the summer?

{Ed001's Note - there are two at RB Leipzig for starters, Upamecano and Konate. Then there is Gimenez at Atleti, they are in a bit of a mess so he might want to move on. I quite like what I saw of Ruben Diaz but he is not a leader yet, got a lot of potential though but I don't think he is what Chelsea need. Not sure any of the others around are any improvement on the players already at the club.}

Konate would be the dream CB for me. As an athlete it's hard to find a better one than him. He's tall, fast and really flippin strong. Also pretty good on the ball from what I've seen.

Can't comment much on his positional sense, which is obviously an important aspect for a defender, but seeing how highly rated he is I'm guessing it's not the worst.

Gimenez is a very good CB.

I suppose you hear the word development used a lot when talking about this Chelsea squad, maybe one of the youngster will develop into a leader. Ampadu always looks like a natural leader, even at a very young age. But the two french boys you mention keep him out the RBL team.

{Ed001's Note - it did seem a strange choice to go to RBL when they have those two. He was unlikely to ever get a game ahead of them.}

hagree there j ampadu looks an absoloute class act and full of presence on a pitch he could be 1 to watch but not just yet he needs a loan or 2.

I'd like to think a club taking a player on loan would lay out their plans for him? Maybe Chelsea didn't see him as well suited to the Championship, but at the moment this is a year waisted for the boy.

I watch a lot of football for a living Superchels I’ll have you know and Ruben Dias has no obvious flaws he’s also very good at set pieces something we haven’t had consistently for years. Got a bit of the Ramos in him in terms of goals just not the nastiness but that could come with time. Konate is also a very good shout Ed just a shame he’s spent half this season injured.

I’d like Ampadu but as a CM he’d be perfect instead of Jorginho.
