Just back from the Bridge. Very enjoyable game and our side reminds me so much of the early team that Tommy Docherty built all those years ago. Full of energy and passion.

Quite right James will get lots of plaudits but I would like to single out Willian who was brilliant.

Also, how about the home fans chanting Jorginho's name during the match. He is certainly becoming a fans favourite.

I loved it Tom. He was at the stadium too and he must have loved hearing the fans chant his name. His the first name on the team sheet for me. World class.

Reece James 'POCKETED' (if there's a word like that) Zaha completed; Zaha didn't see his period.

Agree Tom. I was also at the game - in East Stand Upper (wish the supporters could make more of a noise! ) - and thought Willian was outstanding today, whether with ball, pressing or tracking back with purpose right to the end. My posts over past seasons have always defended him from sometimes really nasty comments. Yes, there have been games when he's not been at his best (especially for quite a long time after his mother dies), but not being at their best would apply to all players at times, and he's often shone if only especially in that season with Jose when many other players seemed to be on strike or working to rule. Willian may be now one of the elder statesman, but am sure the younger players are benefiting from playing with him as he seems to be newly energised by them. Long may it last.

Rees James excellent throughout, and our considerably improved second half performance (Mason Mount noticeable here) a credit perhaps to a Frank talk at half-time.

I will admit that I was one who was not particularly impressed by many of Jorginho's first season performances, especially mid-season (he started and ended very well indeed) when he appeared to be a bit off the pace and to struggle to find any penetrative forward pass in quite a few matches (recall ones v Southamton and Newcastle at home in January for instance), but did express hope that he would reveal himself to be the great player I/ we hoped he would be. and this season he seems to be doing that. Well done TomB for never doubting this. Kova has been v good too along side him, and we seem to have considerable strength in midfield now what with Kante back, plus Mason Mount and RLC with attacking skill and goal threat.

In August, I thought the season would be roller-coaster, but thankfully so far the up bits much longer than down ones. Frank and CFC look to be building something special. It may or may not take a couple of seasons, but let's just all remember to stick with this process even if we go through a sticky patch.

I thought we actually looked far more defensively secure with Kante replacing Jorginho - Kante and Kovacic provide far more protection to our centre-backs than Jorginho and Kovacic (soz, didn't mean to burst your pro-Jorginho bubble) .
