Hi Ed002. Long time no speak, and I hope you're doing well?

I read on the United page that you expect Cech to do pretty well in the role he'll take up at Chelsea (and I'm not trying to put words in your mouth here, but I simply seem to remember you stating that) .
However, he's got no prior experience in that type of role, so I wonder why exactly you think he'll do well even though he's got no experience? Is it because there's a clear structure and framework in which he'll operate?

Well, he's only ever played as a goalkeeper and has never been involved in a role behind the scenes, no?

So I guess experience at the kind of job he'll be performing for Chelsea.

Cech has been around the club since he joined in 04/ 05 season, knows a lot of people in the club, is an extremely inteligent bloke from what I've read about him, can speak many languages. Im sure he will do just fine in the role he is given else why would they hire him.?

The guy is highly professional, intelligent, speaks several languages, knows the club, knows the league, is excellent with the press and is widely respected. Why does it matter what position he played? Van Der Sar is doing a decent job at Ajax isn't he?

I don't know the intricacies of his impending role at Chelsea, but he certainly seems like the type of character we should want to be involved, and successful, at the club.

I never said I didn't want him, guys. Relax. Doesn't matter to me whether he was a GK or a striker. All I meant is he's never had a behind the scenes role, so in essence he's inexperienced with regards to the job he'll perform.

You’re absolutely right Jackson, I would assume he’ll get help early on in his role and work into being in complete control of his role. Inexperienced completely in the role but I’m sure he’ll do just fine!
