Ed001, I know he's only had a year in management so it's very to say, and possibly cruel to judge, however what is your opinion on Frank as a manager?

Just intrigued on your judgements so far!

Thanks in advance as always!

{Ed001's Note - if I was to take out the fact it was his first year, just for a moment, and judge him as if he was A N Other manager who took over Derby County, then I would say he underachieved. Derby arguably had the best squad in the Championship, with the loans he was able to get to boost them he probably should have won the lot. Though that is not taking into account how difficult the division is, but at the very least, promotion had to be the target and he failed to achieve that.

Then you have to factor in the poor error in judgement that saw him bring in Ashley Cole, a mate, when he was not needed or necessary. That is a rookie mistake turning to your old mates, thinking their experience will help, when it just causes rifts in the squad as the other players are not going to trust him.

But you do have to put into the equation it is his first year. That he is learning on the job and so mistakes will happen. In which case you would say he did ok, but he has to learn from his errors. Forget looking to work with your mates, for instance, it is a job so you go for the best people for the role, not for the mate who is best for the role.

At least there is one thing to say for him, in regards to Chelsea, he is very used to working around a slow central midfielder as he had Huddlestone. So he should have a plan in place to cover for the weaknesses that Jorginho can bring to a side. Or at least some ideas to try out. Hopefully that will at least mean Kante plays alongside him to provide the 'legs'.}

I typically judge expectations or predictions on where they’re ranked with the bookies. Derby were listed as ninth favourites. Eight teams were tipped to be ahead of them. Derby’s squad consisted of a number of over-the-hill footballers in their 30’s who have made a career of playing in the Championship, and a group of youngsters with little to no experience playing senior football.

Based on that, I think Frank overachieved.

That's a very thorough judgement indeed! Cheers Ed001, always appreciate yours and the other Eds time.

{Ed001's Note - thanks BT.}

Ed001 your honest opinion on if Lampard is made Chelsea manager how do you think he will do. Integrating the youngsters and managing your old mates. Do you think he will be successful and would you have hom as a manager for Chelsea at this moment intime.

{Ed001's Note - I have to say there do not seem to be many better options out there, he will have the backing of the fans and that means the players have to perform for him. I think he will do well initially, then it comes down to him to learn quickly, which he has the intellect to do. I do expect him to do well, but he needs to be given time.}

Chelsea do unexpected things these days, don't be surprised that the club does not appoint Frank Lampard as its next manager.

What a load of tosh that is Ed.

{Ed001's Note - you mean your frankly pointless reply? Yes I fully agree.}

No you thinking he’s under achieved and the fact you think everyone on this site is stupid enough to believe you. Wonder who much you get paid to talk rubbish. You’ve got no idea how Chelsea football club really works.

{Ed001's Note - ok whatever. You are clearly unable to read and understand what is written. Bye bye Ben, don't let the door hit you on the way out. You have nothing of sense or worth to add to the conversation so you are not welcome.}

Nail on the head, Ed. He needs to be given time. And I hope that with the club taking the transfer ban and losing Hazard expectations for him would be lowered. It'd only be fair too. We can't honestly expect him to get top 4 with this squad sans Eden.

Give him time and trust, and I think we could really benefit long term. I truly believe that.

Please don't let idiots like Ben put you off please ed001 your replies are much appreciated here.

{Ed001's Note - don't worry I won't. The internet is an odd thing, you always seem to get idiots attacking you over something you haven't actually said because they don't have the intelligence to actually understand it.}

Ha Ha! isn't that the truth Ed 001!
I have been trying to figure out why it happens so regularly for a while.

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea, seems people just can't read any more.}

Why do some posters and supposed fans have to be abusive when people just offer and opinion they have been asked to give?

I assume these people are just continuously angry or maybe just utterly stupid. Whatever they are, there is NO excuse for abuse.

{Ed001's Note - at least it wasn't the person that asked for the opinion, that is a nice change. Normally it is them who get all narky and you just wonder why they asked if they didn't want to know! People are strange once they get behind a keyboard.}

Nice write up Ed. I seem to remember Lampard himself saying that he had to deal with a lot of negativity left over from the previous manager, the atmosphere in the dressing room was pretty terrible by all accounts.

I think it was about a par season for him. I also agree that things will start off well and then it about him developing on the job. Seems like a smart guy, I obviously hope it works out. I also hope the club and fans give him the time to make it work out.

Thank you for the reply to my question ed, your opinion was asked for and welcomed! Maybe he doesn't quite understand the fact that I asked you a direct question regarding YOUR opinion, which you gave.

Ps. I also forgot I asked this as I had just finished a night shift and am now back on one, hence the delayed reply!

Thanks again though ed!

{Ed001's Note - no worries mate. It was more that he misread it. I never said Lampard underachieved.

By the way, just to point out to the guy who said about the bookies, they made Derby 9th favourites because it was Lampard's first year in management. Like I said, you have to take that into account when judging him.}

Blueben91 sounds like a upset fatkid whose lunch was stolen. Shouldnt be on this site. Well said Ed001.I can only imagine what you guys must sit with to make this site work KTBFFH.

{Ed001's Note - he might just have had a bad day or he could be just pig ignorant, I have no idea, but yes we do get a lot of this kind of thing. Still it is only like being on twitter, which is why I am not on there!}

True. You also never mentioned anything about the running of the football club either really.

{Ed001's Note - good point, as I have never claimed to know how the club is run, I am not sure why he felt that would be a worthwhile jibe or its relevance to the question. Odd.}

God bless you for your understanding Ed001. U are a man.

{Ed001's Note - you get used to it, we constantly get abuse from people who haven't actually understood what we said. Shouldn't have to, but it is the way it is these days. People seem to actively look for reasons to be angry.}
