I've seen a lot of talk about us being linked with veratti which has been positively received on the whole by people on this site. He's a superb midfielder don't get me wrong but am I the only one worried by the lack of height we'd have in centre midfield with him and kante?

No I see what you mean. I feel as though we could only play them in a three with matic but that would compromise the formation that is working so well for us. I know Barcelona never had tall midfielders but the nature of their game required less physicality and fight than ours and also they played in a much less aggressive league where lack of aerial ability can be exploited to the max.

Tbh I would take 2 Kante's at dm over 1 plus any taller dm I can think of in football right now so to answer your question, height is not the main priority for me it's the way (for example workrate, interceptions, tackling) the position is played. Now if there is a taller Kante out there with a better shot from range then I'll prefer that, but otherwise no.

I don't think it was a criticism of Kante at all bluelab. But personally I don't really see an issue with playing 2 smaller CM/ DM's as Luiz usually pushes up and challenges for long balls. There might be an issue at corners but overall I think Verratti would do very well next to Kante.?

I have said since the game we're zlatan got sent off at the bridge in cl verratti looked absoloutely world class that night he ran the show I'd love if we made a statement like that and brought him don't see psg selling do unless verratti goes to them as says look I want to go like Luiz but I read before he has no desire to go to England. even with him do from corners we'd still have Luiz Cahill Costa alonso plenty of height to deal with corners.

Verratti bosses midfield. He out played out when we play psg.

I really don't think lack of height would be an issue - Kante and Verratti has the potential to be a superb midfield partnership; their qualities would compliment each other and offer the team balance defensively and going forward.
