Ed002,

Are the club going to try and make a sustained effort to acquire Guardiola if he does indeed confirm his time at Bayern is coming to an end?

My concern stems from the fact that since the club and Jose have decided to part ways with each other, it is safe to say that were we to hire anyone but Guardiola, it could be considered a downgrade, with the greatest of respect to all the other coaches out there.

It just seems strange that Manchester City, who lest we forget, have actually got a permanent manager in place, are going to have a seemingly free run at appointing him. Obviously, I am not privy to the information you are and could be wrong in what I say.

Would it be possible for you to shed any light on Chelsea's intentions in relation to any possible pursuit of Guardiola if, indeed, he signals he is going to leave Bayern at the end of the current season.

Many thanks.

Ed002:

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't really work like that - the club has acted already by making provision for the rest of the season. Whilst they can approach representatives of managers contracted to other clubs either directly or through third parties they cannot directly approach the individuals. Chelsea will look to the options available and managers who might become available will also look to what options they have.}
