Hi Eds,

Can any of you please explain our situation in regards to FFP. It seems all we hear now is we won't sign anybody big without moving this player or that player as to respect FFP. We have spent apprx 80m to bring in Costa, Fabregas and Luis. We have sold Lukaku and Luiz for apprx 75m so we really have only spent apprx 5m. Besides the transfer fees are pro-rated as well. don't understand why we simply can't go out and get a Falcao, Cavani, Pogba etc. type of player. Not saying we should go waste money and I realize we have to respect our quota for imports but all I am trying to say is why the fuss as we have not even really spent for this window. I love what we have done so far this window and we have a really good squad but in all honesty we are a solid second striker away from being able to solidly win league or champions and compete with likes of Bayern and Real. I love Mourinho and trust him fully but let's be realistic, heaven forbid if something happens to Costa we will be exactly like last year a good squad having a good year but not great! We simply are not going to get anything out of Torres and Drogba allthough great for morale and will do some good spot duty is 36!Surely spending apprx 60 mil in a window keeps us in line with FFP?

It's not as simple as that. We can only have 17 overseas players in our squad over the age of 21. We have that right now. The squad is nicely balanced in all areas so we would HAVE to sell or loan Torres to accommodate another striker. I'm sure the club would love to do this but at present no club want to take him partly due to his astronomical wages. I think all fans agree with you, we are probably going to be one additional striker short this season as it currently stands.

Why worry about it? Let the accounts deal with it.

Hi lads I always read this site at least coulpe times a day. And I do see a lot of negativity in yoyr posts we have improved so massivelly this year that I don't know what you moan about

Read an interesting post on WAGNH which basically stated we could spend £150-£200m and still fall within FFP. can't remember if this included wages or not. But as JKB said there's limits to the amount of foreign players we're allowed. If we can offload/loan 2 foreign players then we might see another striker coming in. But then again it's all about what JM considers a priority. We could end up loaning Zouma and bringing in Varane.

I don't get it sorry.

Were well within FFP, and surly the issue regarding foreign players is for Champs League? I know there are Prem rules as well bu there not as harsh.

If we realistically need another striker, a more solid Mid and possibly a CD - then get them. All we have to do is leave the players we don't want out of the CL squad. Leaving Mikel, Marin and Torrez/Drogba out of the CL squad gives us 2 more spots for say kadiera and Cavani (just as an example). Why isn't that a possibility?

@Paulmapp. It is but what is the point spending 20mil on khedira and not use Mikel for a whole season? I personally don't rate khedira very much, but he ain't really what we need atm either. there's no doubt in my mind that I would rather not use/register Torres at all so we could get another striker, sadly the club dosent :/ Something tells me its cause they don't wanna lose face (more than they already have atleast).
