Okay guys I'm a little concerned about a couple of our youth players. Last year we saw Ake start a game against Everton and he played well. He also made a couple of appearances as a sub and looked a great talent. Now I know he's still young but the club decided to keep him for this season rather than loaning him out (presumably that's to make sure he counts as home grown or something like that).
If he's going to stay and only play games for the U21 team then I don't think that's good enough. He showed he's capable of handling his own in the epl. I just don't see how he's going to get any significant game time for the 1st team with our abundance of riches. MVG didn't even make the bench on Saturday so how can Ake make it to the bench, and eventually to the pitch.
We can all see what united are doing with Januzaj. They trust him even though he's young and he's going to improve so much this season because he's going to play with the big boys. Now I don't believe he's more talented than Ake or Chalobah or Loftus-Cheek (who looked great against city last season, showing he could actually play some games for the 1st team this season) or even Piazon. We just have to find a way to get them involved for the 1st team a little.
Maybe it's me but I'm just always so bloody excited when I see a youngster's name on the team sheet. I hope we have a plan to integrate a couple of youngsters into the 1st team each year (like I think we're planning on doing with Kalas this year). Players like Boga, Piazon, Brown and Musonda as well are all guys who have amazing futures and could turn out to be world beaters, and they're already on our books! Would be a shame if they made it at another club after coming through our youth system.

I totally agree. Add to that list Lewis Baker and Andreas Christensen also waiting in the wings and I still have faith in Josh. Accept they can't all be introduced but there is no reason why we can't breakthrough fully in to the squad at least 1 each season.
